Chương 65: So You Won't Be Mad at Baozhai?

He kissed along her jawline and down her throat. "No more apologies, you have nothing to apologise for," he placed a finger on her lips, and he continued to kiss down over her breasts.

Changying sighed and leant back against the pillows closing her eyes and losing herself in the sensations of being with him. He turned her slightly as he kissed down her belly to see the bruised hip Jack had been concerned about.

"Shit what did you fall on?" he leant back in surprise taking in the vivid dark red and purple discoloration of her skin that sat in a large misshapen circle over the side of her hip and part of her of her lower back.

"Is it that bad?" Changying grabbed the sheet to cover herself self-consciously. She could feel the bruise but hadn't looked in a mirror to try and see it properly. "I don't remember I was turning toward her when she hit me then suddenly Dante was there helping me up."

"You don't remember falling?" Wang frowned at her worry etched on his face.

"It all just happened so fast. I was stunned that she did it. It took me a moment to realise I wasn't standing up anymore," Changying admitted. "I didn't hit my head or anything like that." She tried to soothe the lines out of his face as he stared at her. "I'm fine honestly. I hardly feel it at all now."

"That's obviously the painkillers helping you. You're going to feel it tomorrow," he moved back up the bed and wrapped his arms around her. "No going into work for the rest of the week, rest and heal." Changying began to protest, and he chuckled kissing her. "They have survived for years without you there to help them; they can survive a few days."

"I will be bored at home. You know that this isn't the first time someone's tried to bully me into doing something," she said softly and looked up into his face. "It was the first time I stood up for myself, though, and that's because of you. I feel quite good about standing up to Chen." Changying reached up and stroked his cheek, "I don't know how I ever got so lucky, but nothing she said could change what I feel for you."

"I'm relieved about that," Wang grinned. "I would hate to have to chase you down and make you see sense." He kissed her lightly holding her close. "Why were you so upset when you called me if you felt that way?"

"Your brothers had made such a fuss, and I knew they blamed Baozhai because of the lunch and the way she didn't want Ben walking me back to work. He said it was because he wanted to see Dante about something but she kept making excuses for him to stay even after he organised for her to go to dinner at his house tonight," She said quietly. "I don't want to be the cause of problems between you and Baozhai or them and Baozhai. I hated calling you at work but the more they kept me trapped in my office the worse I felt about causing problems and I just wanted to go home." She blushed then. "I was so embarrassed by all the fuss. I'm used to dealing with things on my own, and your brothers took charge and wouldn't listen to me when I told them that it was my fault."

"None of what happened was your fault," Wang said frowning at her.

"I said some horrible things to Chen," she admitted feeling her face burn with guilt and embarrassment. "I pushed her too far before she slapped me and that's when it all went pear-shaped I was fine until your brothers showed up."

"You were hurt," Wang argued, "You weren't fine. You don't have to do everything on your own now. I know it can be overwhelming, but my family is very important to me. I understand you're not used to it, but it can be a wonderful thing to have people to call on when you need a hand. It can also be a pain in the arse when they interfere, but mostly they mean well."

"So you won't be mad at Baozhai? Changying asked tentatively.

"I'm mad at her," he admitted. "Not mad enough to make this into a bigger deal than it already is but she crossed a line with me, and it will take some time to repair the damage done over the last few weeks," he said honestly. "I can forgive her for how she treated you if that is what you want, but she has totally disregarded my feelings and I am not too big to admit that it hurts that she would treat me this way. My anger at her has little to do with you and more to do with how she has treated me. You may have been the catalyst but my issue with my sister is not your fault, this has been brewing for some time and I will make that very clear to her."

Changying considered his words. In all of the drama, she hadn't considered that he might have been hurt by Baozhai actions. She had no brothers or sisters, but she knew how she felt every time Chunhua had let her down or pushed her into something she didn't want. She understood his feelings and now that he had explained how he felt she was mad at Baozhai herself for the pain she had caused him.

"I understand," she said softly snuggling into his chest.

"Good," he grinned and ran his hand down her back and groaned. "Now that I know you are recovering, I need to go and finish what I was working on when I left work," he checked his watch. "If I stay here much longer I will end up doing more damage to that hips of yours." He leant over the side of the bed and retrieved her nightgown. "Why don't you and Chunhua have a pizza and movie night and I will be back later to tuck you in." Wang helped Changying dress and carried her out to the couch.

Chunhua seemed relieved to see them smiling and readily agreed to a movie night offering to cook for Changying rather than get pizza.

"I love you," Wang murmured into her ear as he kissed her goodbye. "I'll let Dan and Lio know you won't be in tomorrow, we'll negotiate the rest of the week," he said firmly.

"I will be okay in the morning," Changying protested.

"Show your mother your hip and I bet she will agree with me, or should I just get Jack to come back?" Wang gave her a look that said he knew she would not be fine in the morning.
