Chương 17: 17 Do not overthink...
Why was it delivered this early time of the day? Why was it delivered with many flowers. Was the flowers for me? Was I still expecting despite the assurance that Richard would not give gifts anymore. No, no, no... do not overthink, it's not for me, it was in a way his gratitude.
Maybe, out of thankfulness for accepting his apology, Richard showered our veranda with flowers to give extra effect to the surprise gift I sent for my mother, plus, he made it this early in the morning for a more grandiose outcome. Impressive! He probably sensed that it was my surprise gift for mom so he did a favor to make it appear extra special. I have to remember this favor and won't forget to thank him, just incase by chance we will meet again.
Mom was teary eyed as she lifted the package and excitedly took the card in it. She brought the box, put it in the dining table and comfortably sat on the nearest chair to know who thought of this early morning surprise. It wasn't her birthday yet so she's wondering. I was still recording on video and I too felt excited as she lifted the little paper to read.
Indeed, it was a little paper with a big cause. Mom could not control herself anymore. Tears of joy immediately poured out from her eyes and she came to hugged me. Good luck to what was recorded. 😆
Just in time, father and my other siblings came down and was wondering what was happening. Mom had already opened the package and was inspecting one by one what was inside the box while saying "My darling Mia, so sweet of you. You dont need to do this to me, seeing you happy with your work is more than enough. Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter to us and a sister to your siblings. Thank you for this gifts. Should I expect nothing on my birthday? she joked.
Then she realized, everybody was awake and we dont have breakfast yet. She hurriedly came back to what she was previously doing, preparing breakfast.
It was really a beautiful start of the day. We helped mom prepared our food and ended up setting the veranda too for the breakfast. Mom could not resist the flowers on the floor without knowing it was not part of my surprise. She insisted to eat at the veranda and savour the moment of having her family eating their meals together, we could not afford spoiling her mood and the moment, eating outside is not bad anyway, it even feels good for a change.
