Chương 3: Chapter 2
The rest of the event went smoothly, albeit I am preoccupied the whole night by the fact that my soon-to-be wife is Caleb's ex-girlfriend. We don't go along together anymore but I would still break the bro-code. This is ridiculous.
I don't really get what's running inside my father's mind and he suddenly decided to arrange a marriage.
We were in the parking lot when Justise gave each one of us a warm hug and kissed us on our cheeks. She's being the annoying sister once and for all.
"You guys keep your shit under your pants. Javier, stay away from Venice." There was a warning look on her face.
She pulled her husband with her and led him to their car, leaving us. As much as I want to keep my shoelace tied, women would always hit on me.
"Who wants to go for a drink?" Ngumisi si Devin. Umiling ako at sumakay sa Aventador. Gago 'to, hindi nakikinig sa kapatid.
"I don't always play by the rules." Devin hopped in my car. Blake shrugs his shoulders.
"Rules be damned then." Tossing his car keys to one of his bodyguards, he got inside my car.
I fired the engine and made our way to The Avenue; we own the place but Blake's the one who puts all of his time managing it. The place was a riot when we arrived.
People were raving and already wasted. The loud music banging on every corner of the bar and the liquor intake of the customers give a lively vibe to the entire place including the chirping of drunken people.
We went to the counter atumingi akong alak kay Ruffert. Umupo si Devin sa stool saka niya nilabas ang sigarilyo mula sa back pocket ng slacks at sinindihan. Inalok niya akong sigarilyo na tinanggihan ko.
Nilapag ni Ruffert ang bote ng Mort Garde at inabutan ng baso. Naupo si Blake sa right side. Kinuha niya ang kaha ng sigarilyo sa counter at sinindihan ang isang stick. It's ironic how these guys are violating their own rules.
"You're getting married, are we saying goodbye to your deck of cards?" Humithit siya sa sigarilyo at walang habas na bumuga ng usok. Naupo ako, observing people and thinking how to untangle myself with this goddamn arranged marriage.
"Even if she's ugly, her body, believe me, no one will ever resist it." Lumagok ng alak si Blake.
If he's pertaining about Celestine, he's insane.
"A legit bone-waker." Devin bit his lower lip.
"I had my withdrawal once by looking at her butt cheek." They've lost their senses. Hindi ko alam ganito kahina sa alak ang dalawang 'to.
"You wanker. The alcohol's taking place, huh?" Umangat ang isang sulok ng labi ni Blake.
Kinuha ni Devin ang pitaka niya, nilabas ang isang letrato saka inabot sa akin. Kumunot ang noo ko nang suriin ang letrato ng babae. Maganda ang hubog ng katawan, halatang inalagaan. Nakatalikod ito, nakataas ang mga kamay at nakahawak sa buhok.
Kung susuriing mabuti, walang bakas ng katauhan ni Celestine ang babae sa letrato.
"Where did you get this?"
"Caleb," sagot ni Blake, "it was taken the night before he left."
We didn't have girls that night. It's just the four of us. Nevertheless, I placed the picture on the wooden top and took another shot of Mort Garde.
"Caleb doesn't really have a good taste when it comes to women." To see is to believe and I have to see it for myself.
Tumawa ang dalawa.
"But Caleb knows how to love. That's the reason you lost the game back when we were in college." He sure does. Let him have the credit for being the lover boy.

Tinuro ni Blake ang babaeng nasa tapat namin hindi kalayuan. I wasn't surprised to see Venice doing body shots with a guy but what shocked me is Euan. These two hated each other since the beginning but it seemed like they're enjoying their selves.

"Euan must be enjoying, who wouldn't?" Tulad nang sinabi ko, Venice is a catch.
Nakasalampak sa mga hita ni Euan si Venice at kasalukuyang dinidilaan ang leeg nito. Napatiim bagang ako. I'm not jealous and what not but if it wasn't for Justise's wedding, we might still be fucking each other til now and she'd be licking my hood instead of his neck.
"Tell me you're not getting jelly," wika ni Devin. Tumawa ito nang nakakaloko.
"She's just another girl." Nag-lakad ako at iniwan sila.
"Where the hell are you going? Your actions say otherwise."
"Gago, wala akong dapat pagselosan. And my teeth are floating." Umiling si Devin at ininom ang alak sa baso.
Nang papalapit sa comfort room, may biglang bumanggang babae sa akin. Yumuko 'to nang makitang natapunan ng alak ang suot na dress. I heard her cussing numerously. She looks up, ang nakasimangot na mukha ay biglang umaliwalas nang makitang maayos ang pustura ko.
"Eliot!" Squealing at the top of her lungs, she pulled me closer to give me a hug.
Nag-tiim bagang ako. I became stiff. I hate it when women invade my personal space, except when in bed. It's always been a problem for me but coping up is the way to stop it.

Ibinaba ni Arkin ang skateboard at sumakay doon. Sumunod si Rein at Zerref at nang makarating sa dulong parte ng parking lot, humarang ang isang itim na sasakyan. Nailawan ang mga bata at bumukas ang pinto ng shotgun seat.
Bumaba si Celestine na siyang dahilan ng paghinto nila.
"Oh shoot, we're doomed!" Napaatras si Zerref.
Binuhat nila ang kani-kanilang mga skateboard, tumakbo palayo at tumungo sa gawi namin. They were gasping for air and fear etched on their faces. I scrunch my forehead.
Tumingin ako kay Celestine na papalapit. May dala siyang baseball bat at nakapatong sa balikat.
"You'll never learn your lessons." Malalim ang boses nito at madilim ang mga mata.
Sa likod niya ay si Cooper. I ignored their business. Getting inside my car, I stopped when she pointed a gun towards my head. I stiffened. Shit. My chest has been hijacked and filled with dust. Mas lalo akong kinabahan nang paputukan niya ang baril sa ere.
Anong iniisip niya? This is violence, she can't just fire a gun whenever she wants most especially in front of the minors.
"Alright, I'm sorry. We won't skip classes anymore just let us go and we will all have a peaceful night." Gatal-gatal ang boses ni Zerref.
Lumapit si Celestine sa kan'ya at piningot ang tainga.

"Does it hurt?" Obviously, he's whimpering then I guess it doesn't, at all.
Tumango ang bata.
"Then bear with the pain. Every time you disobey me, you'll be facing consequences of your actions and you know how it works." Sinakay ni Cooper ang mga bata sa kotse habang si Celestine ay naiwang nakatitig sa akin.
Sumilip siya sa loob ng sasakyan and shifted her orbs back to mine, eying me from head to toe and scrutinizing every part of me. Lumapit siya sa akin at hinaplos ang mukha.
"My dear fiancé, make sure you won't bring your woman to your condo. If I see any other girl living with you, I swear to death she won't see the daylight coming." she half whispered but her voice was full of intimidation.
She tiptoed, held me on my shoulders and leaned on a little closer. Itinapat niya ang mga labi sa tainga ko at bumulong.
"Don't make me the monster that I am, you wouldn't like it." Her seductive voice caught me on off the cuff; she was pushing herself on me.
"And I'll make sure you'll go crazy about me." Aalis na siya nang hawakan ko ang bewang niya at tumitig sa mga mata. Kitang-kita ko ang pangit n'yang mukha.
Wait, did I just complimented her?
Note the sarcasm.
"Really? Then I'll wait for your moves, Brocoña. Let's see how far you can get." Ngumisi siya at tumitig sa akin.
The next thing she did, she kissed me on my lips that lasted for about ten seconds. I pushed her away when I regained myself. I feel disgusted but she, however, it seemed like she liked it. She smirked at me and patted me on my shoulder.
"Enjoy your night with your woman. I'm sure as hell you will not be able to do that once I'm your wife." Naglakad siya palayo, still wearing that crooked smile.
Fuck her.
She had the guts to say and do that to me? Screw her!
Pumasok ako sa kotse at agad pinaandar ang sasakyan. The drive took us five minutes. Nang makapagpark, agad kaming pumasok ni Alexa sa building ng condo ko.
