Chương 55: First class emergency
"A bribe?" Lu Shaoting looked at his brother curiously. Since when did he, the powerful tycoon who could get things done his way without even lifting a finger need to bribe people? And even if he wanted to bribe someone, why would he get something from a place like the toy store?
Lu Aotian ignored him and focused his gaze on the toy he had noticed. It was a very big white teddy bear, towering at a height almost as tall as him and big enough for him to hide behind it.
He went towards it and assesed it.
An female attendant quickly ran over. "Mister, would you like to buy this teddy bear? It's a limited edition, the only one of its kind ever made and is fluffier than most stuffed toys." Although all of them were afraid of Lu Aotian's cold aura, it took one glance to know that he was a prominent figure.
They would not be able to handle the consequences if he was dissatisfied by the service provided at their store.
"Remove the red ribbon around its neck, replace it with a pink one." Lu Aotian commanded.
"Right away." the attendant ran off to find a ribbon. Lu Aotian looked at the teddy bear carefully and even touched its fluffy body.
The females in the store started gossiping in low tones.
"How handsome! He looked so cold earlier but now he looks just too handsome. Who is he?"
"Which planet do you live in? That's the CEO of Lu Enterprise, the infamous unrivaled King of business, Lu Aotian."
"Are you being serious? No wonder he looked so charismatic. Who could he be getting the teddy bear for? Does he have a child?"
"Who knows? It might be a friend's child..."
Lu Aotian was really getting the huge teddy bear for his daughter. For the past few days, their relationship was detariorating to the point of almost losing all the affection they held for each other.
She had stopped running to greet him with a rose when he returned home, crying at his door to ask for a hug when she suddenly woke up from her sleep, pulling him into her playroom to play girlish games like dressing up dolls, dragging him to go shopping for clothes and toys and even kissing his cheek when she wanted to ask for something.
Wan Jia seemed to have totally replaced him in her little heart. Now that he thought about it, maybe most of these things were done by mothers. She might have been that close to him only because she didn't have her mother by her side. But he was used to it, so sad...
The tiny thing now practically stuck to her mother at all times and even cried out of jealousy whenever he got close to them.
Huh, not anymore. He smiled charmingly.
Little Jia loved stuffed toys. No, she adored them. No no, she was obsessed with them. There were uncountable stuffed animals in her playroom, that room even had a special section for them and looked exactly like a zoo but she wouldn't part with them no matter what. Not even those she had accidentally ruined or those she stopped playing with. There were even some in her bedroom, enough of them to make someone spooked when the lights go off.
She loved everything that was fluffy, soft and cute. If he gave her this bear, she would be so happy that she would instantly return to being the bubbly little daddy's princess who loved daddy the most and who knows, she might even help him get together with Wan Jia, killing two birds with one stone. Well, just maybe.
The staff came by and after replacing the red ribbon on the bear's neck with a cute baby pink one, they put it in a box and asked for the next instructions.

Wan Jia had just woken up from her late afternoon nap when she heard an embarassing grumble from her tummy. She had forgotten to eat lunch thanks to all the phone calls threatening to explode her phone.
Since winning the Golden Rookie Designer Awards, she was not sure who had given her phone number to those people but she hadn't had enough rest in a long time. Her phone was constantly ringing with calls to scout her and others with orders for dresses. The countless emails in her mailbox were not helping either.
Jeez! She couldn't even play a game on her phone or gossip with her friend. How torturous was that!
She rubbed her sleepy eyes and walked down the stairs, just in time to catch sight of a huge walking teddy bear. Her sleep disappeared in a swoosh and her eyes flew open. Upon closer inspection, the butler was behind it, struggling with all his might to carry the huge heavy thing.
She stood there frozen then ran over, shrieking "Aaaaaaaaah! A teddy bear!" She threw herself at it causing the butler to lose balance from the sudden inertia and almost fall.
"Sorry, are you alright butler?"
"I'm fine." he smiled.
Wan Jia couldn't hide her excitement. She acted like a little teenage girl who had seen her dream man. "Aaaaaaaaah! so big and cute! So so cute!"
Then she saw of Lu Aotian coming in. She shoved the bear to the butler who almost fell again and ran right into Lu Aotian's arms throwing her arms around his neck in a very tight hug.
"I love it so much. Thank you Aotian, thank you so so much. I love you!"
Lu Aotian "...."
Oh no!
Emergency.....
He had forgotten something very very very important.
There was someone more attracted to stuffed toys than Little Jia...
And that was Wan Jia....
