Chương 49: For the princess
Inside the fast speeding white Bentley,
"Are you alright?" Zach asked, concerned
Her urge to cry intensified, she nearly cried at the sight of his worry full face.
Not getting an answer from her Zach turned to look at her
He stepped on the brakes and immediately stopped the car by the side.
"What happened? Why are you crying? Did someone bullied you?" He asked frantically
He felt his heart ache at the sight of her tears.
She cried event harder, hearing his words.
"I...I" Zach panicked, he had never consoled anyone, he just don't know how to.... but he didn't want to see her crying anymore, so he hugged her tightly in his arms and patted his back " Please don't cry okay? I'll make everything right okay Princess? don't cry don't cry..." Zach spoke whatever came to his mind and strangely Samantha really stopped crying. Looks like his coaxing worked.
Samantha looked up at the person who was coaxing her like she was a baby... exactly the same way he did in the past.
It took a minute or two for Zach to realise he was hugging Samantha tightly in his arms, he felt extremely awkward and released her hastly.
"I..I was..." he tried to explain his actions but couldn't find the right words
"Are you free now?" Samantha interrupted him
"Huh?...yeah whassup?" he answered starting the engine
"Kay. Let's go"
"Where?"
"An amazing place" she beamed at him
He was momentarily stunned by her beautiful smile.
He nodded slightly and sped up to their destination
After half an hour of drive the car stopped by the road.
"Here we are" Samantha yelled excitedly and hopped out of the car and Zach also followed the suit.
He looked around curiously but all he found was an abandoned playground. He frowned a little, tilting his head to look at the girl before him.
"Let's go" she grabbed his hand dragging him inside the playground.
They walked inside the abandoned playground step by step.
Samantha stopped in front of a high man-made mountain.It was surprisingly pink in colour, though a little faded it still look very cute.
"Pink?" Zach raised his brows
"Mhm" Samantha nodded "For a beautiful princess"
Zach trembled unconsciously, he clenched his fists to control his trembling.
Fortunately his cellphone rang at the moment, he received the call hastly to divert his mind.
"Sam, something came up suddenly I need to go. Come I'll send you home"
After dropping Samantha to her place, Zach drove towards his office.
He wasn't in a rush to reach his office, nothing urgent came up. He lied earlier, to escape the sudden emptiness he felt. He didn't wanted to face that he wasn't ready for all of that.
Roaming around for a while he decided to stop at 'The Gravity' for a drink. He needed to get drunk to calm his nerves.
