Chương 67: This Will Keep Jasmine Distracted
The next morning, everyone was sited at the dinning table for breakfast except for Yuvi who was fast asleep. Purhab looked at his watch, it was already 8pm.
Normally by this time, himself and Yuvrag are already at work, attending to important matters. As he was pondering on the next action to take, grandma Mehra suddenly asked, where is Yuvi?
Mum he should be in his room preparing for work, I will ask the maid to go call him, Lawkshmi responded.
The maid went up to Yuvi's room...
knock knock! Master Mehra, your mum sends for you, the maid conveyed the message. I will down very soon, Yuvi responded, the knock on his door had woken him up.
Alright master Mehra, I will convey your message. The maid replied and went downstairs to the dinning to convey Yuvi's message.
Immediately she finished delivering the message, Desha spoke up. Mum, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, I will be off to the University now. Okay dear, her mum replied.
She went ahead to touch the feets of her elders and got their blessings. Before she left, she also informed them that she would be staying over on campus, to catch up on the lessons she missed when she was over at Udi Village.
Immediately she left, Yuvi came downstairs, he had quickly freshened up and dressed for work. Namaste, Grandpa, Grandma, mum and Dad. As he greeted he went to touch their feet for blessings.
They responded to his greetings and blessed him just like they did Desha. As he was about to sit, his father scolded him. Yuvrag, you were not at the airport to pick us up yesterday and this morning, but this time you still at home and not at work?
If the responsibility are too much for you, let me know. Besides this is unlike you. Am sorry dad, I lost an uncle too. The moment he said that, the dinning room went cold. He just reminded everyone of uncle Mehra's Demise.
But Lawkshmi tried to salvage the situation and said, Yuvrag sit, eat up and go to work. Dear, Grandpa and Grandma let's eat up too before our food gets cold.
Okay mum, Yuvrag replied, took his plate of served food, quick eat and left for work. When the rest of the household were done eating, Purhab led them all to the serene environment of the garden they hardly use because of their busy schedule.
At the garden, Purhab gave Aunty Mehra a call to speak to Grandpa and grandma. They inquired about her health and that of cousin Mehra. They also encourage her to continue to be strong for her son, Cousin Mehra. She thanked them and the brief conversation ended.
At Mehra Conglomerates....
Yuvi got into his office, he sat down and started day dreaming of the precious moments he spent with his wife under the sheets. He didn't mind the pile of work on his table and he was not worried at that moment, about the shareholders and what crisis must have come up the previous day because of his absentia.
Not long after, his day dreaming was cut short, his secretary knocked on his door and brought him more paperwork to sign and attend to. As soon as he signed the ones she just brought, she left his office for him to continue with the ones on his desk.
After a while, Yuvi called for a meeting with the board of the directors, apologized to them for his absentia the previous day, and explained to them he was in mourning too because of the loss of his uncle, but that he is much better now.
He also thanked them for salvaging the crisis at the conglomerate the previous day, his secretary had briefed him. He was not aware that Prakash was contacted because his secretary had no idea of that vital piece of information either.
They scolded him a little, that he should have called to let them know he won't be at the office the previous day instead of his behavior. But in the end, his apologies and excuses for his absentia were accepted. Work resumed normally after that.
Meanwhile at Mehra TV...
Sonal cleared her desk, and was ready to head out of the station. She had applied for leave, the leave was approved. As she stepped out of the station, she gave Jasmine a call to meet her at the Arora Mansion.
Sonal had brought the trip to the army barracks closer in an attempt to distract Jasmine further. Jasmine did not object to it, she was going to see her brother at the barracks when she got there after all.
The idea that Sonal suddenly thought about at their last sleepovers was suddenly coming into play. They were going to come back the next day, after which Sonal will take Jasmine with her to tea with her mum with some of her socialite friends.
She remembered when one of her mum's socialite friend had mentioned she had a daughter of their age, they can spend the time chit chatting with her, to while away some more time. This will keep Jasmine distracted and forgot the idea of Rohit for a little while, she said to herself
At the army barracks....
Gevan Arora looked at the army clock on the wall in his office, it was past 2 pm. Normally by this time, he is out there with the rest of the comrades on the training camp ground, but because Sonal and Jasmine were on their way, he decided to wait at his office for them.
Earlier on when Sonal and Jasmine reached the airport, he sent the army convoy to go pick them up. Presently, news had reached him that both his daughter Sonal and her best friend Jasmine were 10 minutes away from the army base.
Gevan sat down on his chair, he looked at the time again, by his calculations, Sonal and Jasmine should be within the grounds of the army base.
Any moment from now, he should be seeing his daughter. He relaxed his back on his chair right before his door was knocked thrice. He informed the comrade to come in.
The soldier came in and saluted him army style. After the salutation, he proceeded to deliver his message. Major General, miss Arora and Miss Jasmine have arrived.
Send them in immediately, Gevan responded. Yes Major General, the soldier saluted again before he excused himself to direct Sonal and Jasmine into the major general Gevan's office.
Sonal and Jasmine entered into Gevan's office and saluted him army style. After the salutation, Sonal called out, dad! Gevan responded by saying Princess. Jasmine called out Major general! Gevan responded, Princess best friend.
After the pleasantries, Gevan urged the girls to sit down comfortably on the sofa in his office. When they were sited, he instructed the soldier who brought them in, who was currently outside his office, to entertain them with refreshment from his fridge.
When the soldier was done entertaining them, he stepped outside again to give them privacy. After Sonal and Jasmine finished taking their refreshment, Gevan went ahead to ask Sonal how her mum is fairing, he equally asked Jasmine how her family back home were fairing.
After their positive response, he made a mental note to give his wife a call later in the day when all drills and training at the army base were over. Although he had called her earlier on to inform her of Sonal and Jasmine's safe arrival, he still needed more talk time with her.
Soon after, Gevan instructed that a female soldier show them to the room they would be staying for the night in one of the rooms amongst where the female soldiers sleep at night. The room was specially prepared for them.
After they exited his office, he went back to the training grounds to join the other army officers and soldiers under him to continue with the training sessions.
Although, Sonal had been to the army base couple of times, she had never stayed overnight. She decided to stay overnight this time around because of Jasmine.
After they settled in, in their room, Sonal decided to give Jasmine a tour of the place. As the Major General's daughter, she had access to most of the places, she was only restricted not to go into the weapon room.
Sonal and Jasmine knew that the soldiers were in training, so they planned to surprise Ajay with their presence later in the evenings when all trainings for that day had ended.
Earlier they had arranged with the female soldier who took them to their rooms, who was now back training with the rest of her peers to bring Ajay to them after the training had ended. They planned to see him at the army entertainment Lounge.
Sonal and Jasmine had a nice time touring the place, the only accessible place they had not toured was the training grounds. They decided to tour there and entertain themselves with the view of the training soldiers. They did go there quiet alright but not too close, as not to alert Ajay of their presence.
The afternoon went bye quickly and it was now dark. Trainings had ended, some of the soldiers went to their rooms to freshen up and came out thereafter to their evening meal at the military entertainment Lounge.
Some of them didn't bother going to their rooms, they went straight for dinner at the military entertainment Lounge with the intention of freshening up later before they sleep.
The rest of them who didn't go to the the military entertainment Lounge, preferred to hang around at their favorite hanging spots and while away the time with their fellow comrades.
Prakash, Ajay, Pulkit and Sagar had freshened up and we're now in the military entertainment Lounge having their meal and discussing meaningful topics from one end to the other.
Sonal and Jasmine were having their meal as well, not in the military entertainment Lounge, but in a special place that Gevan had requested to be prepared for them.
Geven was having his with his fellow major generals at the special area meant for the major generals and generals.
As soon as Sonal and Jasmine were done with their meals, they were led by the female soldier from earlier on to the military entertainment Lounge.
As they moved, all eyes were on them, their beautiful faces caused a ruckus among the male soldier. The ones who were aware of their identities didn't try and make a move on them, but the ones who didn't know that it was Major General Gevan's daughter and her best friend decided to make a move.
Before they could get themselves into trouble and invite the wrought of major General Gevan, they were stopped by the ones who knew their identities. They were quickly briefed that they should not go close to major General Gevan's and her best friend.
