Rohit entered his room and locked it, he was no longer in the same suite as he was when he lodge into Bhatt Hotels and suites when he first arrived Bombay.
As at the time himself and his assistant came back to the hotel, their previous rooms were already occupied, so they had no choice but to book another room for themselves.
This did not matter much to Rohit, he would be getting married to Sunita soon, he would have access to wherever she sits for the rest of his life.
Rohit looked at the ring that once belonged to Jasmine, without her knowledge, his mother had smartly dis possessed her of her engagement ring. He was proud of his mother but he felt slightly bad for Jasmine.
He thought to himself, Jasmine needed this ring, she is not working. In the future she would have had the opportunity of selling it for money. He sighed.
Almost immediately after he sighed, he smiled, he just thought of an idea. He quickly went back outside of the hotel and bought a ring box near bye. The shop attendant tried to sell him a ring to go with the ring box, but he declined because he already had a ring.
He instead brought out the ring and gave to the shop attendant to get it cleaned to look like almost brand new again. There was nothing wrong with the ring, Jasmine had taken care of it so well that it still looked like brand new.
The main reason Rohit gave the shop attendant the ring for cleaning was that, he wanted Jasmine's fingers to be washed away from the ring, he did not want to dent his precious Sunita's hands with it.
Rohit had imported the ring he bought for Jasmine. He had the means to buy brand a new one for Sunita but, it would have taken him days to receive the imported ring. The wedding was in seven days time, he had no time for that.
The jewelry shop only had local India products on display, they only ordered imported products if a customer requested for it.
Another jewelry shop that was near that had imported products was having a branch opening at other locations, they were closed for business not until the following week.
The other remaining jewelry shops he thought of were very far away from him, and it would take him hours to go and come back. He did not have such time to spare.
The shop attendant cleaned the ring and brought it back to Rohit shortly. Rohit took the ring, looked at it, it did look better with just a tiny little difference. Except one looks closely, he or she would not know the difference between before and after the ring was cleaned.
Rohit took the ring from the shop attendant, placed it inside the ring box and paid the shop attendant before he left. He went back immediately to the hotel.
Back in his room, he called Sunita and invited her out for a proper dinner date. The last time they had dinner together, it was not a proper date. After hanging up the phone, he went into his bathroom and took his bath.
After taking his bath, he dressed himself up corporately and went downstairs, he hauled a cab to go pick up his soon to be engaged fiancee from the Bhatt Mansion.
On his way to the Bhatt Mansion, he called and booked a slot for table for two, no, not at the Bhatt Hotels and suites' restaurant, he had taking her there to eat before.
He booked it at a place called Lover's lounge. It is a place owned by Bhatt Conglomerates. He could get a booking so easily because he was President Bhatt's soon to be son in-law.
President Bhatt earlier in the morning had announced Rohit's relationship with his daughter, Sunita personally to the media, he did not want the media to publish it first before he made a statement.
Once he did that with the media house belonging to his best friend, all other media outlets carried the news immediately. He gave them all permission to do so.
According to President Bhatt, Burih firm and Bhatt Conglomerates were already business partners before he found out that Rohit and Sunita were in love, he approved of their relationship and blessed them. He also announced the day they would be getting married, that all media outlets are welcomed to cover the wedding ceremony.
After he made that announcement, his friend was not happy with him, that why would he suddenly change his mind about the marriage alliance they had. He apologised and explained that Rohit and Sunita were in a relationship, he was not aware before hand otherwise he would not have suggested the marriage alliance.
Now that he is aware, he does not want to force his daughter, Sunita to get married to his son. He did not tell him that Sunita tried to commit suicide and force his hand to allow her get married to Rohit.
He had told his friend that Sunita had a domestic accident the day he came to Bhatt Mansion, that was why she was rushed to the hospital. He assured his friend that their business relationship will not change but improve, he also told him that one of his niece is interested in his son. His brother had informed him about it.
His niece was at home the day his friend came to the Bhatt Mansion with his wife and son. She then spoke to her father, his brother about it, that she was interested in his son, and liked him.
His best friend did not object to this new development, his friend, Ravi's brother was still a part of he Bhatt family. He went home spoke to his son about it. To his surprise, his son seems to have preferred Sunita's cousin to Sunita. So all was settled.
Rohit entered the Bhatt Mansion, he greeted namaste, and asked his father in-law for permission to take Sunita on a dinner date. Ravi did not object to this, but told Rohit to bring his daughter back on time.
Sunita came downstairs, and followed Rohit. Ravi allowed him to use of the the Bhatt's family car with a driver to convey them to the place Rohit was taking Sunita to. Rohit had given the driver the address of the location he is to drive them to.
In the car, Sunita asked. Where are we going dear? It's a surprise dear, Be patient, Rohit replied. After something the driver reached their destination, Lover's lounge.
He came down from the car, went round it, opened the door for Sunita and took her by the hand. Sunita came out and followed Rohit inside. Inside Lover's lounge, they were directed by the manager himself to their table.
As they walked to their table, the couples who were there having a nice time could not stop stirring at the handsome Rohit and beautiful Sunita, they looked good together like a perfect couple.
When they were out of sight, the couples resumed their meals. Rohit and Sunita had a private table in a private area, away from the watchful eyes of other couples.
He never took Jasmine to a fancy place before, but this was his sweet Sunita, a model and an upcoming actress. Jasmine was just Jasmine, who is jobless to him. As at the time he last saw her, she was jobless.
He pulled out a chair for Sunita, she sat down and he pushed the chair inside for her back before she sat down. When they were sitted, the waited came and took their orders.
It was a private room, the waited cannot not stay there, after he took their orders he left, he came back briefly and served the first course. After a while he came back to serve them the second course.
During his absence, if they needed anything, there was a button close to them that they could press and a waiter will come to attend to them. After he had served them the third course. As they were eating, Rohit got on one kneel and asked, Sunita will you marry me?
Sunita covered her mouth with both her hands, smiled and said yes, she then stretched out her left finger and continued to say yes. Rohit was smiling back at her as he put the ring on her fingers.
After he did that, Sunita kissed him instantly, he took in her flavour and returned the kiss. They kissed for a long time before they broke apart and hugged each other. They were out of breath. Sunita looked at the ring again in his embrace.
All of a sudden she slightly frowned and looked at him, he was confused and asked her what it was. You should have gotten me a more expensive ring. I like wearing expensive jewelries.
He smiled at her, kissed her on her lips briefly and said, baby you know our wedding is in a few days time, I didn't have enough time to order a ring of your choice but I promise you, after we get married, I would buy you a better ring.
And don't worry about the ring ceremony, your dad knows what his precious daughter likes, am sure he will buy us the ring of your choice. He is very powerful and has great connections far more than me okay?
Okay darling, Sunita replied, looked at her engagement ring and smiled back at Rohit. Let's continue with our meal, the third course is getting cold, Rohit said. After he said that, they resumed eating.
While they were eating, Jasmine called Rohit, Rohit picked and told her that he is sorry something came up, the contract was postponed. He won't be coming back that day that he would be coming back in a month's time.
He hung up afterwards and did not wait for Jasmine to reply. After he ended his call, he switched off his phone immediately so that he wont be disturbed anymore by Jasmine. Jasmine did call back, but she was disappointed and sad that Rohit was not coming back that day and had switched off his phone.
Who was that darling? Sunita asked. It's just one of my business partners back home in Delhi, you know I was supposed to go back to Delhi today? Yes dear you told me earlier, Sunita replied.
Well he called and was inquiring why I had not seen him this evening as promised. So I had to tell him, business held me here, after our honeymoon, I would see him, Rohit lied.
After their third course meal, they drank non alcoholic wine and left Lover's Lounge. Rohit went to drop Sunita at the Bhatt Mansion. He hauled a taxi afterwards and went back to the Bhatt hotel and suites.
Meanwhile in Delhi
Sonal was on her way back from work, she was not looking happy, she was sad for her best friend Jasmine. Sonal was in the media, she was among those who got first hand information of entertainment news happening around both locally and internationally.
She had heard about Rohit, and his upcoming marriage to President Bhatt's daughter. Rohit did not know that Jasmine's best friend works in the media, and he was far away in Bombay, he was confident that Jasmine would not find out so soon.
Sonal was suppose to cover the story but she begged Jumpa to do it for her. The news was also spreading fast in the internet. She decided to call Jasmine and find out if she had gotten wind of Rohit and his upcoming marriage.
Jasmine picked up the phone, she was in her room feeling sad, no, not because she had found out the truth about Rohit but because Rohit had told her he was not coming the next day anymore but in a month's time.
Hello Sonal, Jasmine said. Hello Jasmine, how was your day? Sonal asked. Am very sad Sonal, Jasmine replied. Why are you sad Jasmine? Sonal asked again. Rohit was supposed to come back today, when I called him, he said he was not coming back today anymore that he would be back in a month's time because the contract had extended, Jasmine replied.
Sonal was glad, Jasmine had not found out yet about the real reason why Rohit had not come back to Delhi yet. She knew Jasmine would not take it well. She had being crying so much in the past couple of days because of Rohit.
Jasmine had spent the whole day with her father in White George Corporations. She had not had the time to look through the internet, to find out what had been happening around the globe.
When she was coming back home, she did not log into the internet and when she finally reached home, the first thing she did was to call Rohit, she had not logged in yet to any Internet site. After the call, she went to take her bath. After her bath she started sulking in her bed, it was at that moment, Sonal called her.
If she finds out the truth, that Rohit had dumped her for another woman, Jasmine might get sick and spend days in the hospital. Sonal figured it was not in her place to break the sad news to Jasmine, it was Rohit's responsibility to do that. He would let Jasmine know when he is ready for her to know.
Jasmine, am on my way home from work, why don't I stop bye your house, pick you up so that you can have a sleepover at my place, you would have fun. I don't want you to think too much about it.
