It was only natural for them to assume it that way, because it was the only explanation that they could come up with. They defined it as just an asteroid that plunged into the earth's atmosphere, crashing down and forming a somewhat meteor crater.

However, no one could hear anything the moment it happened. Thus, there were more than a handful conspiracy theories about this emerging to the public. And they were all widely circulated in the community.

The only people who knew for sure about the truth behind it, were supernatural creatures living in the human realm.
