Chương 8: Found You
Having made a circle around town and now making my way back to Shaina's house. I could just glimpse the house in the distance due to the brightness of the street lights.
My decision to return, solely based on the fact that "I'm exhausted 😪
Probably due to lack of sleep. Then adding to that where I was wandering around the streets.
(Also unknownly to me a factor beyond my awareness. Overexertion due to using void abilities)
"Grrr... why did I just stay out so long"...I didn't hear my friends' out. I'm not even sure how long they have before they have to leave for the academy.
So my biggest fear is, what if while I was out walking the streets. Having my childish tantrum. They left. 😱
Just thinking about this makes me anxious. So much that I've picked up my pace closing the distance between me and the house.
"Yaaaa! How long are you gonna walk for. Cause I'm tired, dam..."
I jerked my head around at a sudden angry voice. However, there was no one behind me. Paranoid, I started to jog the remaining distance.
"Bethana!" Suddenly, slammed into from the side. I'm now being suffocated in a barehug from my friend, Meg. "I'm so sorry I didn't think... and how we broke the news to you. We're terrible friends".
"Meg please..." said Josey. While Shaina pulled her off me. Then patted her shoulder.
"We have more important things to talk about..." said Jocie but was interrupted by Jordie, "Like how long have you been an Air elementist? and shouldn't you be going with us to the academy?"
"Air, what?. Go to the academy with you guys?" I repeated confused.
"Guy's I think we should go inside" spoke Josey.
"Yes, let's head into my house to talk about this' agreed Shaina. 👀 Slightly confused at their directness. I followed Shaina's line of sight and seeing Meg's and Jordie's shocked facial expressions.
"I agree. Can we move gossip central, indoors?" came an bodyless voice. Followed by the appearance of a guy with black hair and redish highlights. That contrasted against his fair skin and delicate features. Then his eye which were narrowed.
I felt that his eyes were cutting into me with his annoyance. Then his pouty plump lips with the corners turned downwards.
Looking about at my friends'. When had Josey changed her stance so defensively in front of me. While Meg and Jordie's faces were drained of color. Then lastly, looking to Shaina who had not moved or seemingly changed her facial expressions. Except I've know her for over a decade to recognize that intense inquisitive look in her eyes. The look of a playful cat that could pounce at any second.
"You just couldn't wait. For them to go inside on their own?" spoke another incorporeal male voice. Followed by him shimmering into view. He had silvery hair with some purple highlights. A tall lean frame and a kind face.
"However, I must agree. We have been greatly exposed" He said with a smile that emphasized his dimples.
