Chương 19: THE GARDEN
"Don't you dare doze off" he said almost as if he knew I was going to sleep any moment now. "We'll be there soon enough."
He said while eyeing me from the corner of his eye. I eye rolled a "yeah I know" look. He turned on some vibrant music in order to prevent from sleeping.
The journey was indeed boring, it wasn't a long one though.
The car came to an abrupt halt and Taehyung stepped out, I wondered if he had to get something from a shop nearby.
But instead he stepped out to open my door, such a gentleman, my heart fluttered at his small kind gestures, I smiled and joined him outside.
It's just after seven, it's chilly out here now, but it's so beautiful like this all these strips of garden side by side, green and cold and waiting for fingers of sunshine to creep up and make them come alive.
The night rides in on a horse of pure midnight velvet, beckoned by the stars under a the glow of a full moon. As the colours of the day rest, perhaps dream of the morrow, the hillside becomes its monochrome beauty, shapes that make an ever-changing, ever-present puzzle, question and answer united.
I place a hand over my mask and my eyes lock with Tae's, he nods and I take off the mask, and take in a deep breath, the chilly air fills up my lungs, a euphoric sense of freedom.
"Where are we?" I looked at Taehyung as he smiled looking at the wide area, a park I think, it had lights at equal distances shining at the grass, which was in it's most greenest shade.
There was a Fountain at the center of the park, Sprinkling water like pearls falling from a broken necklace, surrounded by small lights at it's bottom.
There were benches of a variety of colors ranging from black and white to red and blue. There were small gnomes too, I wondered why, but anyways they made the Park look even better.
It was a beautiful, fancy park but isolated against unforeseen circumstances.
"Why is no one here? it's such an exquisite place to be at!" I started walking towards the lovely, irresistible place.
"I used to come here as a kid" Taehyung began "with..." he sighed before continuing as though he was thinking of what to say next,
"..my dad, he used to bring me here every Sunday and we would play all day long" he smiled to himself as he reminisced but suddenly his glamorous smile turned into a frown "but it was shutdown a few years back as people stopped coming here, due to better places of entertainment being built around."
Why would such a place be abandoned?
"It wasn't this intricately beautiful earlier, there were no benches, no lights, no fountains." now I'm starting to get it, why there are gnomes in the park.
"I made it re-open secretly, last year. I got it refurbished and made a few changes to it and I've been coming here alone ever since." He glanced at me once he finished.
"Even if it didn't had all that I think it's still a place to be visited when you're feeling low or when you want to have a night-out with your friends." I smiled at him, assuring him that the place itself is good enough, that it shouldn't have been closed down.
"But all things happen for good. Now we have a gorgeous secret place all to ourselves!!" I clapped my hands in excitement.
"We?" he chuckled a little "I like the sound of it." he grinned and told me to follow. I blush and walk behind him, I like being around him, with him.
I like him, don't I?
Should I let him know?
No, we aren't that close yet, and what if he fires me on that basis.
We reached the fountain and sat around it.
Just a little while later it began to pour heavily. The clouds that menaced this morning did so all day, growing heavier and blacker until they burst,monsoon-like, Other people would've run to go find shelter but both me and Taehyung found rain oddly satisfying. I guess both of us are Pluviophiles. (A lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days)
Neither me nor him had even tried to make a run to prevent ourselves from getting soaked.
We did ran though, but with joy, chasing each other, running all around the park.
We laughed and we chuckled, we enjoyed the rain to our heart's content.
I've never felt this delighted and overjoyed for a long time, I was over the moon, I tend to be when I'm with him. I smiled to myself as i thought about being with him everyday. I closed my eyes and let my imagination wander, run wild, explore corners and things I never had the intent and motive to think about....
