Gilgamesh had been fighting the Lava monster for 5 hours on this strange planet he had landed on, to no avail. What had created this Lava creature? Why did the creature attack him? Why was he transported to this planet? These were all questions that he asked himself over the course of this fight.
Gilgamesh had been practicing his powers ever since dragons had slaughtered his village. He had improved greatly in replicating materials that he had knowledge of, but the creature attacked him so quickly that he was only capable of fabricating half-formed spears that let off a burst of creative power before harmlessly passing through the creature.
Gilgamesh had tried several times to create more complex creations to capture the Molten machination or contain it but he was not able to complete it in time as the creature would swing its molten hand at Gilgamesh when he least expected it.
Gilgamesh, after realizing this creature was nigh invincibility, tried to go to his dimensional space but was unable to access it as there was some invisible force preventing him from leaving this planet.
While Gilgamesh was distracted by an inability to leave he left himself open to attack. As Gilgamesh heard the sizzling of the obsidian background he knew he made a mistake but before he could react a molten hand seized the moment to swat him like a bug. Unlike his expectations, his skin did not melt off.
'It seems that I have become more resilient," Gilgamesh thought as he slowly got off the ground.
Unknown to Gilgamesh, his once very vulnerable body had become much more durable since his vision of Vex and the influx of knowledge he had gotten from the much elder Parthian boosted
The lava creature deciding that it had enough of its combat with vex suddenly withdrew and lept back into the lava from where it had come from.
A familiar sultry voice sounded and Gilgamesh turning away from the lava pool spotted Mavine instantly. Mavine looked even more awe-inspiring than normal as she gently flew down in front of Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh started remembered the fight that they had before he came to this planet and became slightly more warry before this somewhat crazed living god. Mavine with her flowing black hair showed a coy smile when seeing his defensive posture. As someone that lived for millennia herself, she could easily understand expressions but was no mind reader, but that was unnecessary to understand what Gilgamesh was thinking.
Mavine deciding to break the tension began to talk with a bit of amusement, "Was the Lava Monster challenging enough for you?"
Gilgamesh still defensive exclaimed, "yeah it was great."
"No need for sarcasm. It is one of the lowest forms of humor."
Gilgamesh deciding that his posture would only offend her further without accomplishing anything decided to relax his posture but remained vigilant. The lava seemed to crackle loudly in the lull between their conversation.
" What do you think you did wrong, my dear Gilgamesh while you were fighting my creation," said Mavine in a low and slightly bored tone.
Gilgamesh was surprised that she would so readily admit that she was the one that had created the Lava monster. Who would admit that they tried to kill another person in such a tame tone as if this was a normal conversation Gilgamesh wondered as he prepared to be attacked.
Mavine rolled her eyes when she saw Gilgamesh's preparations, "What do you think your doing? Do you think you can fight me with the little amount of power that you have mastered?" Mavine had seen the large source of power inside this human larger than the creative power that she possessed but she knew that almost none of it was used. How could Mavine allow such a travesty to continue?
Seeing Gilgamesh slightly hurt she asked him in an exasperated tone, "Would you like a teacher to help you master your powers or would you like to stay a Parthian newborn for the rest of your life?"
Gilgamesh had obviously learned the name of the Parthian race but preferred to think of them as living gods instead because that is how they were introduced to him.
The Goddess Mavine was offering to teach him the ways of the Living Gods. How could he refuse? Gilgamesh agreed, not realizing the misery to come.
"Good because you don't have a choice," Mavine said in an amused tone.
Gilgamesh's stomach sank as he realized he had been duped but couldn't find a way off this planet. Besides learning about his powers and controlling them was paramount to being able to defend himself from Living Gods like Mavine. Realizing this Gilgamesh accepted his fate.
