Chương 26: Chapter Twenty-Six: Odd Situation
Moving in a straight line, the trio aimlessly prods their way forward. Whether or not they would find who they were looking for would be left up to their luck itself. However, they did not have to toil away to try and find her. Exactly two and a half miles later, they spot what resembles a silhouette of a house in the distance.
"You think she's in there?" Leonard asks. "Looks kinda run-down to me."
"You're not wrong there but it's the only thing we've seen so far."
"Let's make our way over cautiously. We don't want her to think we're here to do malicious activities."
Following Dianne's words, the two nods and agrees. They didn't want to upset a person who could possibly be the core monster of this dungeon. The dungeon had already crossed all common knowledge about dungeons, they assumed it would be safe to project that notion on Evelyn as well.
As they got closer to the thatched house, they notice something strange in front. Two humanoid-shaped figures were currently standing in front of the house. The three feel as if they are being watched by the two.
"Uh, that's creepy."
"Yup, same here," Linda agrees and squints her eyes. "I mean, they look like humans."
"Yes, they look like it but are they really?"
They made their way even more slowly, even with their noses and cheeks had become red from the cold weather. They finally got close enough to confront them face to face. They became astonished. The exotic beauty from the two took all three of their breath away. Leonard's face could not help but became a light shade redder from the woman's beauty. The other two froze in place from the beautiful and also handsome androgynous features of the man. Both were in uniform; they look like a butler and a maid.
"We welcome you in place of our Lady." The two spoke in unison. "For what purpose have you come to visit?"
It was such an odd situation that the three could only react in a late response. Dianne, turning red, made a strange face and cleared her throat; obviously trying to dispel her embarrassment.
"W, we have come to greet and have a conversation with your L, Lady."
Even though she tried, she still ended up stuttering. It only heightened Dianne's embarrassment even more.
"Pft-."
The other two, Linda and Leonard, immediately snaps out of their reverie and then stifles their laughter. Never once did they ever witness Dianne, their cool-headed strategist, ever stutter or lose her composure. Hearing their stifled laughter, Dianne quickly glares at their general direction. She had become red down to her neck.
"Pu-HAHAHAHA."
Leonard becomes the first one to burst out laughing heartily. Then, like a chain reaction, Linda releases her laughter as well. Both of their laughter resonates and fills the quiet surroundings. Dianne only becomes more flustered. The two servants glance at one another, wondering what the situation unfolding in front of them is about.
"Brother, what are they laughing at?"
"Oh dear sister, I wish I knew."
The two sibling watches cluelessly while the other two siblings slowly calmed down. Wheezings and coughings could be heard from the two. Dianne did not fare any better, from her shoulders up are still red from embarrassment.
"I, I'm sorry Dianne," Leonard said. "I couldn't help myself."
"Huuuu-" Linda exhales. "Ugh, my cheeks hurt."
Dianne's body trembling, she wishes she could find a ditch somewhere and just crawl into it. This is one of the most shameful things that have happened. If one looks closely, one could even see small tears forming at the corner of her eyes.
"Asahi, Tsukiko, allow them entry."
"Yes, my Lady."
With a command coming from inside the house, the two lines up on opposite sides of the door and gesture them to walk inside.
"Our Lady awaits."
Dianne quickly strides over and heads on into the house, escaping from the scene. Leonard and Linda follow after and looks at each other.
"You think she's alright?" Leonard asks.
"No, I don't think so," Linda said. "I think you and I are going face her wrath after this mission."
"Shit, Dianne's pretty ruthless when she gets mad."
"Yup," Linda pats his shoulders. "I won't forget your sacrifice."
"Wait, what do you mean by that?!"
Linda speeds up her steps and breaks away from Leonard. Leonard becomes flustered and tries to catch up to his sister.
"Wait a minute! Hold up! If I'm going to suffer you're going to as well!"

Inside, the three of them along with Evelyn sit at each side of the table. Both Asahi and Tsukiko are directly behind her, standing prim and proper. Alice, on the other hand, is sitting on a chair as she did not want to stand for an undetermined amount of time. Evelyn was exasperated when she heard and saw the whole thing outside of her home. She also knew that they became entranced from both of her new companion's appearance; they, indeed, did not shame the myths about the Kumihos at all. Luckily for them, both Asahi and Tsukiko did not devour humans nor do they feast upon their livers.
"Are you the leader of this Dungeon?"
Dianne abruptly speaks. Evelyn perks up from her words and responds back.
"In a way, yes I am indeed the leader. But in a much more specific role, I am like its creator."
The three of them becomes shocked at her words. Briefly, Dianne tried to make sense of what she had just said.
"Do you mean, you created this dungeon?"
"I am responsible for what it is now, but the creation of this dungeon was not me," Evelyn explains. "As for who created this, even I do not know."
"Then, do you mean to say that you constructed the whole night scenery and the fields of snow?"
"Yes."
Evelyn simply nods in response to her questions. Dianne sinks into her thoughts while Leonard and Linda become visibly shocked at my casual acknowledgment.
"No way...that can't be."
"A person being able to replicate the night sky like that?..."
Both of them speak out their thoughts. Though as unbelievable as it sounds, they are the truth. Even Evelyn nods her head after hearing their words.
"As inconceivable as it sounds, I am speaking the truth."
Now all three of them fall into a silent state. Sinking and thinking within their thoughts. All the while they were doing so, Evelyn then decides to push her agenda through.
"Now that I have answered your questions, can I have you answering mine?"
