Chương 8: Learning Magic
I am so happy that I finally learned a magic. I shouted happily for this amazing news. I totally forgot that there were some people nearby. They quickly ran toward me as if in emergency case.
"What happened?" Sri Puspa quickly asked me as she was the first one to arrive and followed by both Hamengku Suro and the King.
"Eh.. errrm I just learned how to cast magic." I replied.
"Oh something similar like those shaman huh? Which one do you learn acupuncture or herbal medicine?" Hamengku Suro asked curiously.
"No, no.. not like that.. it is the real magic. I learn how to ignite a flame from my palm."
"I see... Wait whaat?" the King surprised at my words.
Without losing time I quietly pointed my hand to one of the tree nearby. This time, I focused my entire concentration to my palm. As my entire body become enveloped with a surge of energy I tried to reimagine that same image I used earlier. "Burn" I exhaled as a fireball pop out of my palm and directly hit the tree.
"Pssshhh." A sound created as the fire extinguished after hit the tree and leave a burnt mark.
"Aa..." Every one's jaw dropped the instant fire was out. What to expect? It was the first time a fireball was made out of thin air.
"....." The silence continued as they still felt dumbfounded with what they see. The King slowly directed his gaze to me. "Will you marry my daughter?"
"Pffft." I was almost spit out my saliva from my mouth due to the King's respond. What kind of reply is that? Is the King in the right mind? I shifted my gaze at Sri Puspa only to find her fidgeting and tried to avert her eyes of me.
"Dad, how come! Why you suddenly said something like that... It embarrass me." She said.
"Aww, my daughter is so cute when she is upset and embarrassed." The King replied lightly. What is wrong with this King? This is so weird on so many level.
Hamengku Suro just watched both of them as he lightly pursed his lips. I was wondering whether he got used to this scene.
"Aheem.. Anyway, congratulations on your achievement. You are the first person I ever see capable of spitting fireball from your hand. Could you please tell me how to do it?" The King congratulated me.
I told them about what the entity said to me while in that realm. The mention of magic from that entity ringed the bell for me to try again today. He said only the irregular like me who can cast magic in this world. When I told them that I begin to wonder whether there was another irregular from earth like me in this world. But well, I just need more time to learn that fact. Sooner or later I will find the answer.
"I see, so unfortunate that only chosen one can use magic." the King replied
"Don't be like that, you embarrass me King.I just happened to be fortunate." I cut his compliment.
"Hahaha, so young and so humble. Not bad match for my daughter. Right, Hamengku Suro?" the King laughed.
"Hahaha, what a wonderful pair my King." he added to the King's harassment. Sri Puspa can only look down unable to show her shy expression and those reddened cheeks. Well this conversation surely will lead to awkward position to me and Sri Puspa.
Well what to say? Seeing her fidgeting like that increased her cuteness ten folds, she is already a beautiful girl to begin with. Beautiful enough to make any men desperately reached for her. "Ba..thuump... baa thump.." my heart pounded so hard. As my heart was about to pop, I suddenly remembered about those hard days as her sandsacks and sure thing, my heart suddenly descend to a fearful thought about what will happen if she becomes my wife.
"No, no, no. Absolutely not going to happen." I told myself.
The awkward conversation continued for a while and without we realise it, it was already dusk and we returned back to our camp to rest.
The next day everyone walked again to this endless territory of dense forest. We thought when we woke up at the beach we will easily find a nearby town after some walks. But the truth is after we left the beach we have been in this dense forest for at least several days for now. In the morning we quickly packed away some necessary things and later in the afternoon we stopped and prepare our camp again. Of course today as well we haven't found any exit from this forest.
It was afternoon already and after we prepared the camp I separated myself to learn more about the magic.
My main aim for today is to learn my compatibility with other element. In the cartoon I used to watch when I was a kid, there was a hero who wield wind attribute power that can save the world. Well I do wish to make myself looks like that hero too! A childhood dream must be fulfilled no matter what!
I closed my eyes and tried to visualize something out from my mind. I took a deep breath and inhaled the air. My sense seems sharper as I can feel the wind breeze through my cheeks. I begin to imagine as my energy focused to my palm. I imagine how the air slowly condensed to my palm. As if my palm feels like vacuuming the air. The air continued to condensing in my palm. As I openend my eyes I just randomly push my forward. "Ha!" Suddenly the condensed air left my hand and shot like a beam that pierced a tree. This time it was so devastating. A big hole is created to the tree which I pointed. "This is insane! The power is much more greater than that fireball."
I tried to make sure to what I witness and tried to cast fireball again to make sure about the destructive power of this new spell I learned. "Burn." A fireball was shot and created a small parch of burnt area to the tree surface. I was pretty sure that the wind spell had a higher destructive level.
As I was curious with this air attribute I began to try another things. I experimented with this air magic. It is easier to control air magic because of a fact that air is everywhere around me. My imagination catch on with this attribute. Enveloping my body with wind armor, wind bullet and even creating a radar by searching with the wind blows will not be hard. My priority now simply want to learn about the air radar or perhaps similar to echolocation.
I sat down and tried to focusing my energy. I closed my eyes and tried to feel the wind's current. I followed the current of the wind as if it shows me a thread like path. The path continued and led me toward a plain. The wind continued until it reached a wall. I can sense it clearly that it was a manmade wall. Finally, a way out of this forest!
