Chương 6: Chapter 6
"Are you okay?" She says as she kneels down in front of the child. The child was still obviously still terrified and had tears in its aqua blue eyes. The child also had mud and dirt in its platinum blonde hair.
"It's okay kid we are not here to hurt you. What are you doing in the middle of the woods anyway and where are your parents kid." I say as I walk over to the kid. The kid gets up slowly and nervously says
" umm uhw my name is Lizza Wolshire and and" she started crying again
"It's okay It's okay," says as she tries to comfort the girl
"My name is Halo and the boy over there is my twin brother Haro. Can you tell us why you are here"
" M M My parents and I were traveling to get to the capital city but along the way we were ambushed by a bunch of bandits a and my Mommy and Daddy told me to run and they would come and find me when they were done fighting off the bandits"
" How old are you Lizza," my sister says kindly
"I'm ten," Lizza says starting to calm down some more
"Umm can I ask you two a question she says quietly
"Sure what is it," my sister says with a smile
"You two look to be my age so how are you so strong"
Dammit, we did not have time to think of a cover story for how we came here
"We are elves so we are older than how we look, " I say
I begin thinking back to the conversions 10 human years equal one elf year and 100 human years equals one of my years we are 14 now so we would have to be about 140 years to be an elf at the age of 14.
"We are 140 years in human years so it would make sense for us to be more experienced and skilled.
Suddenly an arrow flew by my face. Crud , when I was not paying attention somebody managed to sneak upon us. A heavily injured man came out of the shadows.
"Leave my daughter alone!" He yelled
"Daddy Daddy these people are not bad they just saved me from a giant bear"
"We are not here to harm your daughter Mr. it's like she said we just saved her from a giant bear, " I say
The man begins to look and see the giant bear's corpse he immediately bows deeply
"Thank you for saving my daughter. If I could please employ you as bodyguards till we make it to the capital my wife is back at the carriage. We managed to fend all the bandits off, but we are in no condition to fight if we have to again, By the way, my name is Samuel Wolfshire if I may ask what is your names." I listen to his heartbeat for a few seconds and it did not seem that he was lying to us.
"My name is Haro and she is my twin sister Halo and yes we can be your bodyguards we are also traveling to the capital."
"Thank you, Thank you please follow me the carriage is this way," He says full of pride. I begin to think about why was his voice so full of pride maybe he was some sort of noble or something.
My sister gives him a full look over and says "You are in no shape to travel Mr.Wolfshire, give me a minute and I can heal you."
"Hu you have healing magic," he says with surprise.
"Yes I do but I can't use it if you keep moving around," she says annoyed. She reaches up and puts her hand at the top of his head and closes her eyes. Mr.Wolfshire begins to glow a greenish color and his wounds begin to heal.
"Wow Daddy is glowing Haro why is Daddy glowing," Lizza says as her eyes grow big
" It is healing magic my sister just draped him in a bunch of healing magic to heal him," I say proudly. My sister was one of the few people in the village beside my mother, the doctor, and the doctor's apprentice who could use healing magic. After about a minute or so the light ended and the man had an astonished look on his face.
"You .. you that was chantless magic and healing magic at that"
" She trained for years to be able to do that," I say calmly. My sister probably forgot that it was not normal for humans to use speechless magic.
"Okay now that you are healed let's get going," my sister says
We continue to walk he slowly started to stare at us.
"Is everything okay?" my sister asks him
"Oh sorry but by any chance are you two elves"
"Yes we are is there a problem with being an elf," I say sharply
"No no it is just unusual in these parts to see an elf especially ones as young as you. You two look to be if I'm right about 130 years to about 140 years right and that would explain a lot as well"
" You are correct we are 140 years old Mr. Wolfshire but from what I remember not many humans can tell the age of an elf that accurately how can you tell," I say, cautiously.
"Well I am a former adventurer so I have met a couple of elves during that time," he says
" Then Mr. Wolfshire how is it that you were beaten up by bandits so easily," My sister says.
" It's been years since I have been an adventure so I have fallen out of shape over the years, it has been 30 years after all." According to all my senses, he was still telling the truth. We begin to reach the forest's edge and see the main road. In front of us, there is a small carriage with a lightly injured woman in it.
"Mommy Mommy I missed you Mommy" the little girl yells as she runs over to her mother to embrace her. The woman looks up from the embrace and gives me and my sister a once-over with her eyes.
"Samuel who are these elves"
