Chương 2: Arceus and the System (Unedited)
"Hello there," A clear voice rang out as Marcus woke up in what seemed to be... the sky?
"Glad to finally meet you in person", Marcus turned in the direction of the voice only to be utterly stupefied.
In front of him was a person who to him, felt like someone who was neither male nor female yet both at the same time. The person wore a pure white robe on his body and an intricate golden headpiece inlaid with what seemed to be emeralds on his head. The being had a graceful bearing and a unique aura that seemed both carefree yet authoritative. The aspect that really caught his attention however was the person's eyes. What was supposed to be white was instead green while his pupils were red. These unique features immediately reminded Marcus of a creature he was most familiar with as a pokefan, Arceus, the great ruler of the Alpha Universe and is worshipped as the god of the pokemon world.
Confused and still slightly disoriented due to the sudden turn of events, the young man had several questions in his mind yet he held back from asking and instead continued to observe first. Not knowing what to say or do, he remained silent while thinking of different reasonings to explain his present circumstance yet he still came up with nothing in the end.
"You have guessed correctly young one, I am indeed who you think I am," the white-robed person smiled and continued before his eyebrows creased into a frown, " My name is Arceus, humans like you faithfully refer to me as the god of pokémons and I have chosen you to... hold on. You are... not the person I was expecting... where is he? That silly thing... carelessly releasing his power all over the place. Fantastic... now your souls are interchanged."
Marcus' eyes were like saucers once his assumption had been confirmed. Of course, as an otaku and one at his age, he was able to quickly adapt and despite not having the faintest clue what he was talking about, the boy could not help but silently applaud him for remaining calm despite the frustrating situation as the young man understood from what the being was talking about.
"Sigh... forget it, just treat this as a student exchange on a world scale. Anyway, welcome to the world of pokémon, this world is inhabited far and wide by creatures called pokémon."
"For some people pokémons are pets. Others use them for battle. As for myself...I rule and watch over all pokémons as that is my duty. Now then, it's time for you to tell me a little about yourself...are you a boy or a girl?"
"..."
"Heh, I'm messing with you. Alright, let's begin with your name. What is it?" Arceus continued.
Marcus introduced himself which was followed by a series of other questions from Arceus.
"I see, Marcus... was it? Well, congratulations, your very own Pokémon legend is about to unfold. Take courage and leap into the world of Pokémon where dreams, adventures, and friendships with both Pokémons and your fellow humans await.
"Before you depart, the reason I summoned you here...well the other one but since you were both in the same situation it's just the same. Nevertheless, the reason you are here is that I created a system to train the ultimate trainer to protect the world of pokémon from devastation and unite all people of every nation."
"Indeed, that lucky trainer is you." Following that, Arceus opened his left hand to reveal a glowing orb of light resting on his palm that quickly drifted towards his head and vanished from sight.
"Now go, work hard, try not to die too early, and be warned that while your mind is adjusting to the system, it will bring forth a headache that might hurt a bit. The pain won't last long, bear with it." Following that, Arceus waved at Marcus as the latter slowly faded away from the Alpha Universe.

"Is it over?" Marcus asked.
[Affirmative]
Marcus rejoiced inwardly. The headache was frustrating but what came next was what he was waiting for.
"So what's happening right now system?" Marcus asked.
[Current Status: Traveling through a space-time tunnel. Calculated arrival to destination time is 00:04:48]
Marcus felt his body being pulled in a certain direction. He reflexively tried to struggle in order to break free from the strange force controlling him but the system's notification made him break out in cold sweat.

His entire body stiffened as he imagined the outcome. He dared not move, fearing for his life.
Receiving a chance to continue his life in the pokémon world, why would he waste it? Furthermore, who in their right mind would want to go diving into deep freezing waters?
His body continued toward's the 'tunnel' wall. The wall was like paper and immediately ripped upon contact. Blinding light rushed out from the hole and forced Marcus to close his eyelids. Unknown to him, his body was rapidly shrinking throughout the process.

In a relatively open space behind a few buildings, a child of about ten years old wearing clothes that are obviously too big for him was sitting on a pile of men in black.
The child had sharp eyebrows and eyelids revealing his Asian descent while his green pupils gave off a slightly fierce vibe. He had a head full of long curly golden blonde hair that covered his right eye while his sharp nose and thin rosy lips completed his features.
This charming youth wore a confused expression on his face as he continuously turned over his hands.
That's right, this confused fella is Marcus of earth. He was dumbfounded to find himself in his ten-year-old self after seven years. "Hey, system. What happened to me?"
[Optimal age to begin a trainer's journey is ten years old. Host underwent a de-aging process]
"What the Heatran is going on here?! Whose kid is this?!" A blonde man in a gold and black striped suit exclaimed while looking at the scene.
"Eh?" Marcus looked around him and found himself in a secluded place wherein a terrified middle-aged man was hugging a briefcase tightly in a corner in front of him while the blonde man was behind him and let's not forget the disposable plie of suited men that broke his fall.
Marcus hurriedly got up and stepped away from the men but because of his oversized clothes, he tripped and ended up falling headfirst on one of the men causing that unfortunate man to grimace in pain.
"System, couldn't you have adjusted my clothes as well while you were adjusting me?" Marcus said as he frowned while looking at his school uniform.
[Negative. The de-aging process reverses the time-flow of the target and does not shrink them.]
[Internal communication is suggested. The host does not need to speak to communicate with the system.]
Marcus sighed and stood up before folding his clothes to prevent himself from tripping again. He then made a ran for it as soon as he stepped down from the pile, he hurriedly got away from the crime scene while the men groaned and got up, some as quickly as they could while some taking their time.
"What are you idiots doing?! Get him!" The blonde man in gold and black striped suit had veins bulging on his forehead as he ordered his men to give chase.
While they were distracted, the middle-aged man that was hugging a briefcase climbed over a wall and got away.
'System, do I have a starter pack or something?' Marcus asked in his mind while running away from the alleyway he came from.
[Affirmative]
"Open it quickly!" Marcus hurriedly said out loud forgetting to say it in his mind due to the situation.

"Switch my uniform to the trainer's attire and activate the map function. I need to know where I am and where they are."
His entire body then lit up before undergoing a transformation. When the light faded, Marcus no longer wore his oversized clothes but instead
After that, a small holographic screen with a geographical map appeared in front of him. The map had the outline of the region like a normal map would except it had 21 circles in it, 11 blue ones and 10 orange ones.
[The blue ones represent the residential areas of humans and the orange ones are popular attraction spots for trainers]
"Zoom in! That's too general!"

While he was running away from his chasers, a hand suddenly grabbed him and pulled him into another alley.

A_Stag_On_The_Sun It took me a long time to research about every aspect of the characters and pokémons in the season 1 of Pokémon in Khanto...don't look at me like that, I was only able to watch episode 1 of season 1 since I started watching the anime in season...3? wherein the region was already Johto.
I'm starting to regret making this fanfic, oh well I'm still gonna continue it but expect a long time between each chapters.
