The wind blows heavily. The night is cold. Carrie and Finn sit next to a fire.
"It's so cold" Carrie shivers a little.
"If you want, you can have my jacket" Finn smiles.
"No. Thank you though." She lays down. "I wonder how the others are" She stares at the sky.
"They are fin. I'm pretty sure." He stares at the sky too.
"Yeah.." She turns on her side, facing him. "So tell me about yourself."
He looks at her. "Whats to know?"
"Well..." She sits up a little. "What was your child hood like?"
He clears his throat. "Well, it was normal.." He sighs. "For the first couple of years. Than something bad happened." he pulls his knees to his chest.
She looks at him worried. "Well mine was okay. First my mother died when she gave birth to me...and after that my life was okay up until now.." She put her hand on his. "It's going to be.." She smiles at him.
He smiled back. "Thanks." he lays down. "I'm going to get some sleep. Night"
"Oh...night.." She watched the sky as she laid back. She soon fell asleep.
As her dream was long but short. She wakes up hearing gun shots going off. It was daytime now. She sits up as she sees Finn shooting at something. "Finn?" Everything was dizzy for her.
"Carrie!" He sees her up. He runs to her and picks her up like nothing. He puts her over his shoulder. He starts to run.
As they were running, Carrie, sees zombies running behind them.
"Shit!" Finn says as he comes to an opening. He sees a barn. He quickly runs to it.
When he enters the barn he throws Carrie onto some hay as he shuts the doors. After shutting he takes a deep breath.
"Finn what happened?" She asked as she stood. Her dizziness was gone now.
"When I woke up this morning I noticed neither one of us stayed up. So I freaked. I looked around an I saw some zombies very close to us. So I grabbed the gun and as I did I stupidly stepped on some sticks which broke and the zombies started to come at us. And so I started to shoot" He scratched his head nervous.
Carrie hugged him She isn't a huger but shes could tell he needed it. "It's okay"
He hugged back. "I was so worried." he began to hug tighter.
"Listen.." she let go and looked at him. "we need to find the others." She grabs the gun. "Lets go"
Finn watches her. He smiles. "You remind me of my mom.."
She laughs. "Yeah? How so?" She looks at him.
"Well..." He looks at the ground and grabs a broken floor board with nails in it. "Because you always try to find a way out of things to help others."
"Ah okay" She smiles at him. "Lets go mama's boy!"
They both laugh.
"Ready?" He says holding the door.
She nods as she points the gun at the doors. "Yeah!"
Finn quickly opens the doors and Carrie begins to fire. She shoots some zombies. Finn hits and bashes the others she misses.
"Ah.." She says as she finishes shooting the last one. "That all?"
He looks outside. "Yeah. Lets go"
They walk out and notice they are in a field. They walk about a mile before they see a building.
"That's weird.." Finn says looking at it.
"Yeah it is.." Carrie looks at the building as well.
The building was small. It had plants growing on the walls.
"Lets check it out." Carrie says as she walks towards it.
Finn follows. "Hopefully it's safe."
They approach the building. They notice that it wasn't any building. It was a bunker. A military bunker.
"What's it doing all the way out here?" Finn asked as he looked around to see if he could find any clues.
Carrie didn't move. Her eyes were widen. She stared at the symbol above the building. It was a biohazard symbol on it. She quickly pulled out the shot and compared them. She was right. It was a match. "Finn.."
He stopped. He turned to her. "Hmm?"
She showed him the shot. "Look at this. Its the same symbol. I think whatever kind of shot this is.." She looked at the building. "Came from this place.."
Finn stared at the symbol on the shot and the building. "Yeah..." He handed the shot back. "Looks like we have some clues to figure out." He begins to open the door.
Meanwhile, the others are on the opposite side of the woods.
Shawn sighs as they walk. He was carrying his daughter, Faith.
She looked up at him. "Daddy, will momma come back?"
He frowns but hides it the best he can. "Pumpkin, she will. I promise." He puts on a fake smile.
She smiles back. "Thanks daddy"
Ellis stared at his father. "Yeah right...." He looks at the trees beside him as he puts his hands in his pockets.
Ella walks up beside him. "Hi! Names Ella!" She smiles big at him, while she waves. "We haven't met but I think we will be good friends" She blushes a little.
Ellis rolls his eyes. "Whatever.." He begins to walk faster, leaving her behind.
She stands there sad. "Oh.." She sighs as she looks at the ground.
Eva puts her arm around her. "Sweety, boys are hard to get to." She kisses her head. "I know you want to talk to him, and he is being mean, but that's just because he isn't ready to open up. So don't feel defected just yet. He'll come around"
Ella smiles. "Thanks mom"
Eva smiles back but looks over at her husband, Joe. He was up and standing but it was still hard for him to walk. She goes to him. "Hey, honey"
He sighs. "Hello my love" He almost falls but catches himself with a tree.
Eva helps him stand straight. "You know..." She takes a deep breath. "you still haven't told me how you got hurt"
Joe looks at her surprised. "John didn't tell you?"
"No. He didn't. All I know is that he brought back a boy, who was one of the other captives." She looks at him concerned.
Joe stops walking. "What boy?" He looks at her.
"You know. The boy who was also a captive" She laughs a little. "You okay?"
Joe punches the tree. "That asshole!"
Everyone stops and turns to them.
"Everything okay?" Shawn asks, looking at them.
Joe shakes his head. "No..." He looks at him. "John lied to you all."
Shawn sets his daughter down. "What do you mean?"
Joe stands straight. "He said the boy, who came with him, was another captive. But.." he bites his lip. "there was no one else there...we were the only ones."
Shawn's eyes widen. "That can't be...." He clutches his fists. "John wouldn't lie!"
Joe chuckles a little. "Well, guess what? He did!"
Both men looked at each other angrily.
Miley nugged Matt. "Go stop them"
Matt sigh. "Fine.." He walked between them. "Listen all this fighting isn't going to solve anything! We need to work together to figure out what the hell is going on"
Shawn took a deep breath. "Fine" He picked Faith back up.
Joe looked at his wife. "Understood."
Matt turned to Miley. "Happy?"
Miley shook her head. "Men..."
Eva hugged her man. "I know.."
Shawn stared at him. He sighed. "Where are you?" He looked up at the sky. "I miss you..."
"Hey dad! Isn't this mom's necklace?" Shawn's son, Derek, said bending down, next to a bush.
Shawn put his daughter back down. He went to his son. "What is it?" He bent down too. Suddenly his eyes widen. "No.."
There in his hands was his wife's necklace. He had given it to her when they first went out.
Shawn stood up. The necklace still in his hand. He held on to it tight.
"Dad?" Derek asked looking at his dad.
Shawn punched the tree in front of him.
"Okay..." Miley grabbed both of his kids. "Stay here with me."
Shawn put the necklace in his pocket. "Everyone.." He turned to them. Tears ran down his face. "I'm going to find my wife" He looked at Ellis. "You are now the man. Take care of your siblings."
Ellis stood there, looking at the trees beside him. He didn't answer his dad.
"Ellis!" Shawn went to him. "Are you even listening?" He turned his son to face him but saw him crying. "Ellis..."
"Mom.." Ellis pointed to the woods, where he was looking.
Shawn slowly looked over. He saw his wife.
She was standing there. Looking around. She fell over some rocks.
"June!" Shawn went to run to her, when Joe, stopped him. "Let me go!"
"She isn't there." Joe held him as best he could.
Shawn growled. "She is! Look!" He pointed to his wife. "She's alive!" He started to sob. "She's there!"
Faith started to cry. "Mommy!" She ran out of Miley's grip.
"NO!" Miley tried to grab her again.
Faith ran to her mother. "Mommy!" She opened her arms. "I missed you!" She hugged her mother. "I love you!"
June looked down. She reached down to her.
Faith smiled. "Mommy!" She hugged her tighter.
Shawn manged to get out of Joe's arms. He went to his daughter.
In one second, June bite Faith.
"NOOO!" Shawn ran at June.
She fell down.
Shawn grabbed his daughter. "Faith.." He started to cry more.
Faith was screaming and crying in pain. "Daddy! It hurts!"
June had bit her on the neck.
Shawn put pressure on her neck. "I'm so so so sorry" He kissed her forehead.
"Daddy make it stop!" She cried more.
He kept putting more and more pressure on her neck but more and more blood came.
Faith coughed up blood.
Shawn hugged her tight. "Daddy loves you pumpkin!"
Everyone walks to them. Ellis and Derek both go to their dad and sister. All of them cry.
Shawn pulls back. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you.." he stands. "both of you.." He looks over at his wife's body.
She still was moving and growling.
Shawn whips his eyes. "Miley..."
Miley looks at him.
"Take my kids and go" He sits on top of his wife. "I'll meet you again..."
Ellis stands. "Come on.." He grabs his little brothers jacket and pulls him away.
Miley follows them.
Shawn stares at his wife. "June..." he starts to cry but sucks it up. "NO! Be a man!" he pulls out his hunting knife. "I'm sorry.." With one whip of his blade he cuts her head off. He stands, putting his knife back up. "Let your soul be in peace now.."
As he stands there taking everything in, Faith slowly gets up.
Shawn turns. "Faith.." he looks at his once little girl. Now a zombie. "I'm sorry daddy couldn't save you.." He takes his knife back out.
She growls at him.
Just when she jumps at him, he stabs her head. He looks in her eyes. Her eye color fades. "I'm sorry.."
Her body drops.
Shawn puts his knife up. He looks at both of his girls.
Back at the military bunker, both Carrie and Finn search the first room they find. Boxes all over.
Carrie sighs. "Nothing" She closes the box lid and looks over at Finn. "Find anything?"
Finn also sighs. "Nope" He slams the lip down. "It's weird though.."
Carrie walks to him. "I know." She looks around. "Its weird that this place only has one room"
Finn looks at the room more. "Yeah..." He suddenly sees something behind some stacked boxes. "Or not so weird.." He walks over to the boxes.
Carrie looks at him. "What is it?" She walks to where he is standing.
"Look" He points her to the door like frame behind the boxes.
"Oh yes! A secret door! I knew this place was just the right thing to help us find out what's going on" She helps move some boxes.
When they clear the boxes away they noticed a door.
"Well look at this!" Carrie smiles as she touched the door. "It looks so-"
"Metal like?" Finn says with a chuckle.
She turns to him. "Oh shut it!" She rolls her eyes. "Wanna open it?"
Finn crosses his arms. "I don't see why not? I mean there has to be something behind this door for them to hide it like this"
She looks back at the door. "True." She studies it. As she does something shinny in the corner of her eye catches her. "Whats this?" She looks at it. She sees one of the boxes under the ones they moved has a metal piece sticking out. "Help me move this" she says grabbing one side.
Finn grabs the other side.
When they move the top box off Carrie hurries and opens it.
"Wow" She looks in it with amazement.
"Holy cow" Finn stares with a big smile.
Carrie reaches in. She pulls out a sword. "I wonder why they needed this?" She looks at it closely. The blade she had, was red with a black end. She removed the cover. The blade was shinny and sharp. "I bet this can but through some zombies heads huh?"
Finn smiles. "Oh yeah" He pulls out a pole. "I wonder what this does." He pulls it all the way out. It was taller than him.
Carrie stares at him. "What are you going to do with a pole?" She laughs.
Finn rolls his eyes. "I think it does more than that" He studies it before noticing a button. "See" He presses it. As he does blades pop out on each end of the pole. "Heck yes!"
Carrie shakes her head. "Whatever pole boy. I don't care. I like my blade." She kisses it after closing the cover.
Finn presses the button again. "Wanna check out the door now?" He looks over at her. He sees her still admiring the blade. He blushes at her. "So pretty..." he whispers under his breath.
"We can" She looks at him.
He looks away. "Cool. Lets go"
They both go up to the door.
"Ready?" Finn looks over at her.
Carrie nods her head. "Yes" She pulls her blade out. "Lets go kill some zombies"
Finn laughs. "Okay killer." He kicks open the door.
Both jump in with their weapons draw. But both stop.
"Its dark!" Carrie wines.
Finn tries to feel around.
"Hey!" She smacks his hand. "Watch it!"
Finn flinches. "Sorry.." He feels around. He finds a switch on the wall beside him. "Hey I think I found the switch" He flips it up.
As the lights come on, both of their eyes widen.
"Carrie..." Finn doesn't move.
Carrie doesn't move either. "I see it.."
Both of them look terrified. The room was white. Glass was on the either of them. They were rooms. In each room had zombies. Or just blood.
"I think I know why they kept it hidden.." Finn looks at her.
Carrie nods. "Yeah. I do too." She looks at him. "I think we know somewhat where it started..." She looks at the row of rooms.
They both walk down the hall. Looking at each room. One room had zombies eating one another. The others were either empty or had dead bodies in them. But when they go to the last one, they notice a girl, that looked human, laid on a table. She had dirty blonde hair in a ponytail. Her outfit was a ripped up army uniform.
"Wait" Carrie says as she puts her arm out for Finn to stop walking. "I think she's alive" She looks at him.
Finn looked closer. "Lets get her out of here." He was about to break the glass when Carrie stopped him.
"Hold on! What if she's a zombie?" She looked at the girl. "This could be a trick" She went to the glass. "Lets see if it is" She tapped on it.
As she did the girl's eyes opened.
Both Finn and Carrie jumped.
"Lets hope she's alive" he said drawing his pole.
Carrie tapped again. "Hey you"
The girl sat up. She looked frighten. "HELP ME!" She ran to the glass. "Please!" She was crying.
Carrie looked at Finn. "Should we help her?"
Finn nodded. "I'll feel like a monster if we leave her here"
Carrie looked back at her. "Do you know how you got here?"
The girl shook her head. "Listen! My names...umm..umm Kizzy! Kizzy Montgomery! I am alive! Oh god please help me! I don't want to be here with one of those things!" She cried.
Carrie sighed. "Okay! Stand back! We're going to break it! And if you try anything we will kill you! We are trained very well!"
Finn laughed a little. "Trained?" He whispered.
Carrie rolled her eyes. "Got a better idea?" She looked back at Kizzy.
Kizzy nodded as she went to stand at the back of the room.
Finn hit the glass and it broke in pieces. "There"
Carrie waved at Kizzy to come. "Lets go!"
Kizzy ran to them. "Thank you! Thank you!"
"No problem" Finn said walking ahead of them.
As they walked, Carrie noticed something on KIzzy. She had a tattoo of the same biohazord symbol. "How'd you get that?"
They walked out of the room.
Kizzy looked at her tattoo. "Oh that..." She looked down at the ground. "They gave it to me."
Carrie looked at it closer. "It's strange how all the symbols we keep seeing are the same." She walked outside. She turned to Finn. "It's as if all this is connected."
Finn thought for a moment. "Yeah it does. I mean why would the military have a random bunker in a small town like this?" He looked at the road from far away. "It's as if something fishy was going on"
Kizzy sighs. "There was..."
Both Carrie and Finn look at her.
"How'd you get here?" Carrie asked concerned.
Kizzy looked up at her. "I was born on the military base...." She paused. "But after spending 19 years there they sent me away..." She looked at the road. She saw the road sign. "To there..." She pointed to it.
Carrie and Finn looked at the sign.
"I know that sign.." Carrie said turning back to her. "Its our town greeting. It says "Welcome to Final Falls"
"Yeah and the other small town is called Doomsbury. It's where I grew up" Finn says looking at them.
Kizzy laughs. "Yeah..." She rubs her arm. "I don't know much about this whole thing but I do know somewhat..." She looked up at them. "If you keep me around I promise that I will help you find out how to stop all this"
Carrie and Finn looked at each other.
Carrie looked at her smiling. "We wouldn't have saved you if we didn't want you to come along"
Kizzy smiled. "Oh thank you!" She hugged them.
"Oh you're a huger. Good" Carrie said laughing.
"So should we find out where the others are now?" Finn says pulling away.
"Others? That means there is more of you?" Kizzy asks excited.
Carrie rolls her eyes smiling. "Yes and yes"
"Good. Now I think our problem was we went the wrong way" He looked over at the other side of the road. Trees and trees were there. "I think we need to head that way."
Carrie nodded. "Agreed. Now lets go"
Kizzy smiled big. "YAY!"
