Chương 74: Chapter 74: Angel At My Door
"What's going on here?" Huo Yuhao asked, his voice filled with authority and a hint of annoyance, as he stepped into the lobby. As he entered the room, he was greeted by the sight of Tang Ya standing in a defensive stance while facing a girl that was around Tang Ya's age, dressed in yellow robes.
She had a pretty face; with gorgeous blonde hair and bright blue dazzling eyes like sapphire, although she looked to be around the same age as Tang Ya her body looked more mature, with a huge chest and a slender waist.
The girl had an imposing aura surrounding her and was holding a sword that emitted a faint holy light, two pairs of white majestic feathered wings protruded from her back in a threatening manner with four soul rings; two yellow and two purple, circling around her waist.
"You..." Huo Yuhao narrowed his eyes and the girl tensed up, his Sharingan momentarily activated and his soul rings arose under his feet, but remained invisible under a genjutsu he casts on everyone before activating it, and activated Spiritual Detection.
'She's alone... Blonde hair, blue eyes, with a temperament of a noble and white feathered wings; the Angel martial soul, she's someone from the Angel clan and likely descendant of the deceased Angel Douluo, Qian Renxue.' The chill in his eyes lightly diminishes, having mistakenly thought that the girl standing before him was one of his half-siblings.
Huo Yuhao knew that his father, the White Tiger Duke, didn't only have one wife and one concubine. As a noble, and most likely someone who just can't keep his pants to himself, had a couple more wives and other children. He briefly remembered being friends with one of the other concubine's child.
But his target, the Duchess, had three children: two boys and one girl. Aside from Dai Huabin, he'd never met his other half-brother and half-sister. And considering that most children that carried the Dai name has long blond hair and blue eyes, you can't blame him into thinking that for a moment that this was his half-sister.
She frowned, staring right back at him with determination and resolution. "My name is Ye Guyi, a Soul Master and part of the Angel Clan. I am undergoing my clan's three year training journey across the land to grow, learn and most importantly... rid this land of evil!"
"Oh? So they're sending their heiress out for her training journey?" Huo Yuhao raised an eyebrow, impressed by her determination. "I suppose that means you're quite skilled already."
Ye Guyi's eyes widened, "H-How did you know I–"
Huo Yuhao rolled his eyes, "Because no one but the next leader of the Angel Clan would be entrusted with such an important task. Also, your aura and wings all give it away, especially your wings; as only the legendary Seraphim martial soul or a highly pure Angel martial soul could have two pairs of wings at just Soul Ancestor. It's not hard to figure out."
Ye Guyi hesitated for a moment before nodding, acknowledging his observation. "Yes, I am the next leader of the Angel Clan. It is my duty to protect the world from evil and uphold justice."
Huo Yuhao studied her for a moment, his gaze intense and probing. "And, what the hell are you doing here in my house?"
"Isn't it obvious?" The holy light around her body intensified as she spoke with conviction. "I am here to get rid of evil, and you two are the evil that I'm tasked to defeat!"
"Huh? What are you talking about?!" Tang Ya exclaimed, confusion evident on her face. "We're not evil!"
'What is this girl on about?' Huo Yuhao was similarly confused and his eyebrows raised in realization. 'Ah, so those bastards...'
Ye Guyi's eyes narrowed, her determination unwavering. "Don't lie! I have here two wanted posters that describes the numerous atrocities you two have done to many innocent people!" She took out two parchments that detailed a rough sketch of their faces, their descriptions, crimes and rewards for their arrest or death. "Not only do you rob their money and their livelihood, but you had also killed them without mercy! I won't let you get away with your crimes!"
Huo Yuhao's expression turned neutral as he listened to Ye Guyi's accusations. He expected the Ironblood Sect to give out bounties for their heads after he and Tang Ya, especially the latter, raided most of their money making operations and killed their subordinates but wanted posters? That's going to be a bit of a pain, considering that to issue a wanted poster means that they have the empire's approval and support.
That meant the entire Heavenly Soul Empire was against them, and they would be hunted down relentlessly. Huo Yuhao smirked.
'So they had more connection than I initially thought, that's fine. In fact, this lines up to my plans.' He looked forward for the day when Tang Ya storms the Ironblood Sect and start a massacre, he wonders how much support they'll get from the empire.
Anyone would be afraid of becoming a wanted criminal of an empire, especially someone who only has three soul rings, but Huo Yuhao was different. Plus, there's one thing about the Heavenly Soul Empire that made him confident in his abilities to overcome this obstacle; they were the weakest Empire in the entire continent!
'Now, for this girl,' Huo Yuhao inwardly thought, a smirk playing on his lips. 'She's naive to believe everything she reads on those posters and seemed to be the stubborn type as well, so she wouldn't believe a word we'll say. I think I've heard people like her being referred to as "righteous idiots."'
'But also, how did she found us? I've hid all our trails. A coincidence? No, I must keep this girl here for a while and interrogate her.'
He let out a sigh, shaking his head. "You really think those wanted posters are accurate? You trust the words of the Ironblood Sect, a corrupt organization that has been terrorizing innocent people for years? They are the true evil here, not us."
Ye Guyi's eyes narrowed even further, her grip on the sword tightening. "Do not try to deceive me! For what reason do I have to believe the words of a wanted criminal of the empire?"
'True, any normal person wouldn't. But as a soul master, you should've done some research on the job you're taking.' Huo Yuhao inwardly thought and let out a sigh. "Are you seriously going to do this? I'm telling you now, you won't win this battle and we're not the ones you should be after."
She narrowed her eyes, "If what you say is true, then tell me truthfully; have you two not done these awful crimes and are falsely accused?"
"No." Both Huo Yuhao and Tang Ya said with completely straight faces, the latter secretly prepared her Sleeve Darts into paralytic darts as Huo Yuhao told her via Spiritual Sharing that they needed her for interrogation.
"Oh, really?" Ye Guyi scoffed, then without saying anything further, her first soul ring lit up and intense golden light emerged from her body once more, white light flickered at her core, and her third soul ring lit up with a purple glow surrounding her blade.
Holy Praise and Holy Angel Slash, respectively the second and third soul skill. Holy Praise increases her soul power and Holy power by 50%, and Holy Angel Slash would either amplify her sword's power or summon a beam of sword light from the sky.
"Tch, stupid bitch!" Tang Ya clicked her tongue and summoned her martial soul as she unhesitatingly shot out her Sleeve Darts at Ye Guyi.
"Hmph. Small tricks–" Ye Guyi coldly snorted and was about to unleash her sword on her, a rank 3 soul tool sword that she personally made with pride, when she couldn't move her body.
'What?!' She thought, her eyes widening in surprise and confusion. She tried to move her arms and legs, but they were completely paralyzed. Panic started to rise within her as she struggled against the invisible force that held her in place.
What made it worse was the three darts that hit her large boobs, making her inwardly scream in pain.
"Pfft." Tang Ya snickered, holding her laugh upon seeing that.
Huo Yuhao smirked as he looked at the stunned Ye Guyi. "I told you, you can't win this battle. My companion here possesses a powerful paralyzing ability. We have no intention of fighting you, but we need information. So, I suggest you start talking."
Ye Guyi's eyes darted between Huo Yuhao and Tang Ya, not moving.
Tang Ya, covering her mouth, kicked Huo Yuhao's shin, fully knowing this was his doing. But the latter just smiled, his Sharingan circling mischievously, and said,
"Oh? You're not going to talk? Hmm. That's a problem, see, there's something I want from you but you're not giving me the answers. What should I do? What should I do?" He muttered, slowing walking up to Ye Guyi with an ever growing evil smile.
'W-What is with this guy?! His eyes, his eyes! I... Aaaaahh!!' Ye Guyi inwardly cried out.
'I wonder what secrets do you hold, I can't wait to find out.' Huo Yuhao thought as he loomed over Ye Guyi, his eyes gleaming with excitement and curiosity.
