Chương 16: We Meet Again

Li Qin Yao took a few deep breaths to control her emotion. She had explained the ingredients for mushroom vol au vent for a few times, but it seemed that the maids could not get it right.

She had explained to them countless times that the dishes are vegetarian, but the maids would continue to say that they were using chicken in the dishes. At this moment, Li Qin Yao had the urge to grab on the maids' shoulder and shook their body. But in the end, she could only do that in her mind.

Li Qin Yao looked around nervously when she noticed that a few of Wei Jun Hao's guests have arrived. She turned to look at the maids who had their head bowed as if avoiding eye contact with her. They looked pitiful right now. Li Qin Yao didn't know how to get angry at them.

"Let's try one more time again," Li Qin Yao sighed with helplessly as she looked at the maids. Then, she explained about the dishes again one more time. The corner of her mouth twitched when the maids made another mistake. This time, they were discarding nuts as ingredients in one of the pastries.

She did not want to cause allergies to Wei Jun Hao's guests accidentally. What if she gets sued over this? Causing allergies and putting someone's life in danger is not a joke!

For a moment, she wondered if Wei Jun Hao really employed the maids. For someone with his status, his maids would have to be smarter than this.

Was someone pulling a joke on her? A hidden camera?

Li Qin Yao was weeping in her heart when she heard a familiar deep, vibrating voice from behind her. Her heart skipped a beat. The hair on her neck immediately stood up, and her ears felt as if it was burning. She was about to turn around when one of the maids raised her hand, saying that she wanted to try again with her menu knowledge test.

She nodded, a sign of her approval. Surprisingly, this time, the maid had recited the correct ingredients. Soon, everyone got a perfect score in their menu knowledge.

Li Qin Yao watched the space. Just a minutes ago, the five maids were lined up for a menu knowledge lesson and test. It took her a few tries to teach them, and suddenly, everyone had a perfect score. The situation made Li Qin Yao start doubting her mental state. Was everything just now her hallucination?

She rubbed the space between her eyebrow and turned around. Her eyes widened when she saw a familiar silhouette stood next to Wei Jun Hao. That was why she thought that she had heard a familiar voice.

For a moment, their gazes met. The man was watching her with a complicated gaze. It seemed to her that he was surprised to see her there.

Li Qin Yao took a deep breath and smiled as she headed to both men. She waited until Wei Jun Hao finished his conversation with that man before she approached them. "Mister Wei, I have finished with my task. I'll leave now."

Wei Jun Hao nodded. He glanced at his friend and said, "Miss Li, wait. Let me introduce you to my friend, Zhang Yu Han. Yu Han, this is Miss Li Qin Yao. Her cafe provided food for today's party."

Li Qin Yao's smiled as she shook her hand with the familiar man. "Mister Zhang Yu Han, we meet again."

Wei Jun Hao watched the two with a puzzled expression. "You two know each other?"

"We've met before," Li Qin Yao said to Wei Jun Hao. She released her grip on Zhang Yu Han's hand and found that his grip on her hand was tight. She moved her hand a bit and soon, Zhang Yu Han released his grip with an embarrassed expression on his face.

"You never tell me this," Wei Jun Hao whispered to his friend.

Zhang Yu Han sent a warning glance to his friend. It would be troublesome if the girl found something strange from his words. He turned to Li Qin Yao and smiled. The threatening gaze he had on Jun Hao had instantly disappeared. "I didn't know that you're operating a cafe. I will visit your cafe when I have the chance."

"I would be happy if you visit my cafe, Mister Zhang." She took out her business card from her purse and handed it to Zhang Yu Han. Then she turned to Wei Jun Hao. "Mister Wei. I have to go now. I wish your party a success."

When the girl was out of their eyeshot, Wei Jun Hao turned to his friend. "You didn't tell me that you're an acquaintance?"

"We're not," Zhang Yu Han said as he turned around. He didn't feel like explaining about their meeting to his friend.

"Yu Han, where are you going?"

"Meeting Grandfather. I have a dinner appointment with him. Good luck with your party. Oh! And happy birthday!" Zhang Yu Han waved his hand without looking at his friend. He strode towards his car and paused. Then, he stared at his right hand.

Today, he held her hand for the first time.
