Love Story
Mal met his wife, Yasmin, back when they were both in high school.
Yasmin was a shy girl who had trouble speaking up and making friends, often just passively going along with whatever everyone else wanted to do. She was naturally beautiful and had received several love confessions in the past but was so shy she couldn't answer them and instead ran away, inadvertently breaking their hearts.
Mal was the opposite, he was very outgoing and made a lot of friends. He was tall and handsome, playing as the center of the school basketball team. He was the popular idol which everyone congregated around with him as the center of attention.
Despite the differences between them, almost as if they belonged in different worlds altogether, Mal took notice of Yasmin and the two gradually became closer over that year.
The following year, during their senior year, Mal and Yasmin finally got together as a couple, deeply in love with one another.
After high school, Mal went on to study engineering in Europe, while Yasmin pursued her dreams of creative art in Europe. Even with half the world in between them, their love for one another didn't die out and they remained faithful.
Yasmin finished her course after three years of study before she returned to America. Mal devoted all his attention into his study and finished his degree sixth months early at three and a half years.
Shortly after graduating, Mal proposed to Yasmin in a grand manner at a top class roof top restaurant under the yellow glow of vintage yellow lights.
"Yasmin Aster, will you marry me?"
"Y-ye-yes!"
The story of Mal and Yasmin was like a romantic fairy tale, even their wedding was held on a grand open field beside a vintage cottage.
Yasmin shyly held her face in Mal's chest as he carried her to the bridal chamber to conjugate the marriage.
Yasmin was simply too shy, and that was the only time the two of them had sexual relations at that time. Despite that, she fell pregnant and nine months later fell pregnant with a beautiful baby girl. Her cries filled the delivery room as she was held in Mal's arms. She couldn't open her eyes, but feebly moved her limbs through her cries.
"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. White, it is a healthy girl. Have you decided on a name for her?"
"Yes, her name is to be Ether, Ether White."
Raising a new baby put a heavy toll on Yasmin. She was bad with her crying, and Mal was working at an engineering firm everyday and she was left home to take care of Ether. Her original passion in art forced to the background as she didn't have time due to always taking care of Ether.
When Ether turned six months old, Mal and Yasmin had a bit too much to drink and after that night, Yasmin fell pregnant once again. She was worried and torn up about the though of looking after two babies at once, but Mal sat down and managed to console her.
Things didn't go as had planned.
Six months into the pregnancy, right after Ether's first birthday, Yasmin went out to do the shopping… but never returned.
