If you've ever been bowling, you'll know that feeling of hopelessness when you encounter a bed post split. It's that perfect split where only the two outermost pins are left standing. This is the trickiest shot there is in bowling.
This usually occurs when a shot is going straight down the middle looking to be a promising strike. And thus it's just that much worse when you realize it's a bed post split. Forget a strike, even a spare is going to be really hard to achieve.
The unluckiest I've ever been was when I bowled 2 bed post splits back to back right after a strike. What could have been a Turkey ended up being a strike a nine and a spare.
Your best chance at hitting both pins would be to aim for a hard gutter where the bowling ball bounces in such a manner that it shoots one pin into the other.
