Chương 18: Making It Work
(Jacob's POV)
After leaving that apartment I felt really happy. I actually had a daughter that I already loved so much. I just really hope they come back with me. Just in case they do, I began to make a couple phone calls to the staff to make sure everything was set for them.

(AT THE AIRPORT)
I stood there waiting in first class hoping they would come. I stood there waiting for a long time until I smelt something. The scent of strawberries and mangos was in the air. Then the flight attendant opened the curtain and in came Athena. When she saw me, she ran to me and yelled "DADDY".
I was so happy that I went on my knees and hugged her real tight. After about a minute of hugging her, I let her go. I then looked up to see Luna standing behind her. I stood up and stared at her. I smiled and said "I didn't think you would come". "You were right. Even though we are not on good terms, Athena needs a father in her life. Just remember this doesn't mean I forgive you, this just means that I'm willing to work it out. Slowly" she said.
I had the biggest smile on my face. "I am willing to take things slow" I said and she smiled. Oh that beautiful smile I missed so much. She then comes closer to me and hugs me. I was shocked at first, but I hugged her back and said "I missed you" and she replied "I missed you too".Then after a while of hugging her, Athena started to get annoyed and said "Hellooo.I want to hug mommy and daddy too". I laughed and let Luna go and picked up Athena and we all did a whole family hug.
After hugging for what seemed like forever, we sat down in our seats. Athena sat on my lap and Luna sat next to me. The flight attendant came and asked what we would like to eat and Athena quickly asked the flight attendant "do you guys have burgers?" before I could even say anything. The flight attendant giggled a little and said "yes we do. Is that what you would like?" and she nodded her head. I couldn't help, but laugh. "We will all have the burger" I said to the flight attendant and she nodded and left.
Athena got a little bored and looked at Luna who was writing in her journal. "Mommy, tell me a story" she asked. Luna looked up from her Journal and looked at Athena. "Well, what story do you want to hear?" she asked closing her journal. Athena began to think. She had the cutest thinking face.
"Tell me the story of how you and daddy met again." she then said after a couple minutes. I smiled and looked at Luna. She was blushing a little. She looked so adorable blushing. She then said "I always tell you the story from my side. Why don't you ask daddy to tell his side of the story". Athena then looked at me and said "please Daddy". I couldn't help but laugh and said " okay fine. I'll tell you." She got really happy and started to get comfortable.
Then she stopped moving and just stared. "Ready?" I ask and she nodded and I continued. "Well it started when your grandma told me I had to go to town to pick up your uncle. You see I didn't want to go, but she forced me to go. When I got to town it was very crowded with people. I was walking through the crowd when I started to smell Strawberries and Mangos out of nowhere. Then all of a sudden someone ran into me. My head was hurting, but I could here your mother's sweet voice trying to apologize. I looked at your mother's eyes and they were so beautiful. My wolf started to go crazy, yelling MATE, MATE, MATE. But before I could say something, Her old alpha who was a mean man yelled her name and she got scared and ran away".
"Did you run after her, Daddy" she interrupted and asked. I then replied "yes I did, but she ran so fast that I couldn't get her". I turned to Luna and saw she was laughing. I then turned back to Athena and continued. " After a couple of days, I was on my morning run when I smelled your mother again. I ran to find her, but when I did she was being attacked by a mean old vampire. I yelled at the vampire to let her go and he did and then I started to fight the vampire. I fought off the vampire and went to your mom. Your mom was very hurt so I picked her up and took her to my house. She got better and stayed with me for a while".
Athena was really happy and said "Daddy saved mommy". I laughed and nodded at her. Then Athena then looked at Luna and asked "mommy, why did you leave daddy?". I was a little shocked and looked at Luna. She looked kind of sad and was about to talk before I interrupted. " Uh Athena, mommy left daddy because daddy did something very bad. Something that you should never do. Daddy lied to mommy about something very important. Daddy thought that he was protecting her, but he was wrong and shouldn't have done that. He knows that now and He is very sorry He did that to her and promise to never do that again."
My eyes were watery and Athena noticed. "Daddy, don't cry. Mommy still loves you and I love you too" she said wiping away my tears. "Really? You think mommy still loves me?" I asked and she nodded with assurance. She gave me a big hug. I seriously love this little girl so much.
The flight attendant interrupted and gave us our food. Athena's eyes were wide open and began to dig in to her food. I chuckled a little and just watched as both girls ate. "Daddy, why aren't you eating your food. Mommy says that we always have to eat our foods so we can go big and strong" she said and I chuckled again and replied "That's true so I'm going to start eating my food now okay?" and she nodded. I then began to eat my food.
After eating, Athena fell asleep on my lap and Luna fell asleep with her head on my shoulder. I was smiling so big watching my two girls sleeping on me. I was so happy they came with me. I don't care if it's only for a while or forever, but all I knew was that I was going to cherish every minute with them.
