Chương 6: Her Feelings
After lunch, Mia went to washroom to control her overwhelmed emotions. She locked herself in a toilet cabin and sunk in deep thoughts. Her deep thoughts were interrupted by the voice of two girls. she realized the voices belonged to Sophia and one of the friends from the group. To her horror, they were actually discussing about William unaware that Mia was inside the cabin.
"Did you noticed the way he looks at you? He is completely smitten by you."
Sophia shyly said," Don't exaggerate. He was just helping."
"William is not the kind of guy who would help a random girl. You must be somewhat special to him to get such treatment" She teases Sophia. Sophia turns red with embarrasment. She continues," But I wonder about his girlfriend. Have they broken up? But I still see them together." "He has a girlfriend?" Sophia gasps.
"Yeah! It was a hot topic when William got committed to her childhood friend. Nobody expected them to go out. Besides I won't really call her, his girlfriend because they look more like comrades than a boy and a girl in love."
"Shut it Julie!" Said Sophia." We shouldn't be speaking about their relationship that way. We are outsiders, so we do not know the depth of their relationship. Besides, since he already has a girlfriend, you should not tease me by his name anymore. That would be inappropriate."
But her friend was not backing down. She uttered," But you are more beautiful and attractive than that girl. You two would make an adorable couple. Besides, I think it would be quite easy to break them up since he is infatuated with you." She snorted.
"Do I look like a girl who would break someone's relationship just for my own benefit? Can't believe you would even say that." She left angrily followed by her friend.
Inside the washroom, Mia was in daze. Their words were ringing in her ears. " Look like comrades" she chuckled. "So that's how others viewed our relationship." She was tired. She didn't wanted to deal with this. But there was one important thing that she realized that even if she wanted to, she couldn't hate that Sophia girl. Because unlike other girls, she immediately backed off after knowing that Willy was committed to Mia. Sophia was not only physically beautiful, but she was good person inside out. No wonder she was popular.
Mia felt utterly defeated. She felt like she was no competition to that girl.
