Chương 46: Spirits
Izzy took in a sharp breath as she could finally move. She jumped off the bed seeing the spirit that had attacked her sitting in the corner on her bed.
" Wha-what the hell!" she exclaimed staring at the pale spirit. She made eye contact with its dark eyes and shivered remembering the terror the spirit evoked.
" Theonymphi g-get rid of it..." Izzy's voice was hoarse and she was afraid. While she was unable to move, she had felt utterly powerless, more powerless than she had ever felt before. It was an unnerving. The feeling of having all control taken away from you was something that Izzy did not want to experience again.
' I can't' Theonymphi's voice filtered into her mind. His voice sounded more soothing than usual and she saw him fly behind her. He muttered some words and then Izzy's tense body began to relax.
" Why can't you get rid of it?" she asked in a more steady tone. Izzy kept her eyes trained on the spirit on her bed.
' Because its been cultivating a strong hatred for years. I estimate that its at least a 20 year old spirit. It's resentfulness is too powerful for me to cleanse. In order for us to completely get rid of the spirit we need to relieve some of its hatred.'
Izzy slowly stood up, " Y-you what do you want?"
The spirit whimpered and then its eyes turned black with no white showing. " Revenge!" it screeched.
Theonymphi immediately flew down and with a swipe of the hand slapped the spirit across the face.
" Shut it" he barked and the spirit went back to cowering in the corner.
Izzy looked at the scene with her mouth open. " You just slapped it" she whispered. Theonymphi didn't seemed bothered.
" It was annoying me. So I just showed it that I am in charge here".
Izzy looked back at Theonymphi then at the spirit.
" What is it gets more angry?"
" Then I'll slap it again", the spirit let out a ghostly moan hearing that. The moan caused the hairs on Izzy's arms to stand up.
" It said it wanted revenge. So how are we gonna help it?"
" We?" Theonymphi said crossing his arms over his small chest.
Izzy's eyes stared at him, " Yes, ' we' are gonna help it. I mean isn't that the only way to get rid of it?"
Theonymphi sighed, " Argh, yes. We can alleviate some of its hatred by helping it out". Izzy nodded and then turned to the spirit again. She had never ever believed that she would see a ghost in her entire lifetime. Now she was standing in the same room as one and this spirit was particularly scary.
" You want revenge right? We can help you okay".
