Chương 5: Who is she?
Shuu stared at Riko while she was copying down notes during class. His mind was filled with ways to break her into remembering him.
"....."
"..."
Riko's annoyance took over and hissed
"....stop staring at me please."
"Why? Isn't it natural for a couple to be sooo in love?"
At this, Riko blushed furiously and covered her face with her free hand, the other still writing her notes.
"N...no it's weird."
"It wasn't 10 years ago." Shuu blurted out. 'Shit.' He thought, knowing well enough he shouldn't have said it.
Riko's head tilted down slightly, and Shuu saw a teardrop plop in her lap.
He was taken by surprise and worried filled his mind. He was about to reach out to pat her back and comfort her but had second thoughts. After all, his words seemed to make her cry.
Why?
"Look. You know me. Why aren't you saying anything?" He gave up and said at last.
Riko shook her head and whispered "I don't. I'm sorry but you have the wrong person."
Shuu frowned in disagreement but decided to drop the subject.
"I guess I have."
Riko's eyes widened and her tears ceased as her mind went blank. Memories of abandonment came flooding through. She dried her eyes and looked up, deciding to be done with this promise 10 years ago.
~Break time~
Their act of dating had fooled many, as they always had sat together to eat lunch. No words were ever spoken, except for occasional words of greetings. This went on for weeks.
It was finally winter.
"Guys, settle down. We have a new student. She recently came back from Canada to join our school. Kana, come in"
At this, the door opened and revealed a short haired girl with a serene expression, she walked in and bowed 90 degrees.
"Wow! So traditional, haha!" The guys in class said.
Shuu looked at her and thought how similar she and Riko was.
"Now Kana, take a seat in front of Riko, that girl." She said as she pointed to Riko.
Kana looked at her and gasped.
"My god! Riko! Why are you here?"
