"You guys ready?" A message popped up on the party chat, snapping back PurpleRain to reality
The message was from CherishedSong. Recovered form her initial shock, she focused her mind as the extremely crucial part fast approaches.
"Yup!" SavageGenltman replied, while PurpleRain just replied with a "Nodding Emoticon"
"Let's do this! *Charge Emoticon*" CherishedSong sent to the party chat, then all three of them charged forth into battle.
<<Greed Island>> Level 80 Titan's Lair
Time: 4:16 PM | Asia Server
Upon being transported to the Titan's lair, PurpleRain's eyes widen by what greeted them. Thousands of golden status stood where the fallen once stood. PurpleRain was really nervous but she couldn't let her emotions take over when she risked so much for her to be there. She steeled he resolve and reminded herself to focus, for even the slightest of mistake can have devastating consequences.
"Well, seemed like some survived the opening welcome." CherishedSong sent to the party chat, actually feeling quite surprised at first, but then he just felt underwhelmed.
Indeed what CherishedSong said was true. Some players did survive the devastating welcoming attack.
"They did survive but looking by their health bars, they won't last long. *Shrugging Emoticon* Didn't you notice but everyone that survived was a tank class, of course they're gonna last a little longer *Unimpressed Emoticon*" SavageGentleman sent to the party chat, not impressed at all.
PurpleRain scanned the crowd of survivors and saw that what SavageGentleman said was true. A lot of the survivors were Royal Guards who prides in their extremely high vitality and defenses; Celestials who can suddenly boost their defensive stats drastically for a short amount of time; and lastly, Paragons who can be deemed as weak on first glance, for being a support class, but once its true potential has been unleashed, some say that it can last longer than of a Royal Guard.
While the three stood in place and studied their surroundings, more and more parties arrived at the Titan's Lair.
"Let's go! we don't want to give these guys a head start!" SavageGentleman typed out in the party chat.
Yes, everyone will get a reward for participating on the Hunt, but it is still a competition of ranking. The higher the rank accumulated the grander the rewards will be. Players may be helping each other at first but they can easily turn on each other at the cause of being ranked one. Some may be contented by just being able to participate, but that was not the case for CherishedSong and his party. They entered that Titan's Lair, determined to come out with a JGD, and they won't let other players steal what they came for.
SavageGentleman unsheathed his sword and suddenly disappeared from where he stood. Using 'Soul Dash', he intimately closed in on the titan, then used a standard combo of 'Soul Cutter' and 'Soul Strike'. Being the first one to ever land a damage on the Titan, SavageGentleman surely took its attention.
The Titan's spear glowed brightly then thrusts it at SavageGentleman, SavangeGentlman was able to avoid the attack using 'Soul Dash' once more, retreating to a safe distance as the other parties started to gang up on the Titan.
"Nice job getting first hit! *Cheering Emoticon*" CherishedSong commend in the party chat
"Who do you think you're talking to? *Proud Emoticon*" SavageGentleman replied, feeling very proud of himself.
"*Clapping Emoticon* *Confetti Emoticon*" PurpleRain could just sent out emoticons to express how she felt. She was indeed impressed by how SavageGentleman expertly attacked the Titan meticulously and elegantly.
Just like getting the final hit; in Rampage getting the first hit also gives out major bonus point and reward(s).
"Well.... it will only get harder from here" CherishedSong reminded his party
"I guess it's my turn to show what I've got" PurpleRain sent to the party chat, not wanting to get left behind. Besides she didn't join the Hunt just to get some mediocre rewards. She was aiming to get a JGD and she wouldn't stop at nothing to get one.
PurpleRain open her book and started reciting a poem. The words on the book started to glow, as if they were coming to life. Light bursts out from the book, forming a figure. As the light faded a Spirit stood in front PurpleRain.
Nico and Joseph's eyes widen upon seeing the Spirit
"That is no ordinary Spirit" Nico said almost breathlessly
Joseph on the other hand was just too speechless, as his mind was still processing what he was seeing in front of him.
<<Child of War, Halberd>> Level 40 Spirit
"It's a freaking level 40 Saga Spirit! Not just that, it's freaking wearing a Spirit avatar that's self made!" Joseph examined in disbelief "This is too much!" Joseph said as he patted his chest as if trying to calm his heart.
"You can be amaze all you want, but this thing isn't gonna defeat itself, Kuya." Nico reminded Joseph
Joseph could just let out a sigh and continue to focus on the battle.
SavageGentleman then charged into battle with Halberd hot on his trail. CherishedSong and PurpleRain stood on a safe distance, providing support.
CherishedSong casted 'Ballad of Tenacity', increasing all party members' Physical and Magical defense and also has a 50% chance of negating CC effects; followed by 'Harmony', increasing the Combo damage dealt by the party.
PurpleRain casted 'Master's Embrace' boosting her Spirit's Physical and Magical attack and Physical and Magical defense.
SavageGentleman used 'Soul Dash' appearing behind the Titan then used 'Soul Singe', dealing powerful initial damage followed up by a powerful DoT. The Titan swiftly turned to SavageGentlman again thrusting her spear at him, which SavageGentlman again dodge using 'Soul Dash'.
Having a very low cool down, Joseph utilized 'Soul Dash' to it's highest potential. But in a battle where many players are involve, one's rhythm cannot last long as it could be interrupted by other player's. Although they are all working together towards archiving the same goal, they are still competitors in reaching the top of the leader board. As Joseph's combo kept increasing, a Royal Guard intentionally used 'Royal Decree', stealing the Titan's aggro.
The Titan turned her head towards the Royal Guard and started going after it.
"Sneaky little!" Joseph shouted in frustration. It was obvious that the other parties wanted to steal the Titan's aggro so the they can set their own rhythm, making it hard to steal the Titan's aggro back, unless you have a very powerful taunt skill, like the Royal Guard.
Royal Guards are known to have very powerful taunt skills that has a 100% chance of succession, making them really the no. 1 tank class in Rampage.
Joseph was really gloomy as all his hard work in getting the Titan's aggro and chain combos would all go to waste, just because of a stupid Taunt Skill. Joseph really wanted to do a table flip right then and there, but just as the they Royal Guard and his party were rejoicing, a figure high in the air shot down to the ground like a shooting star. The figure spun, swinging its weapon in high speed, then struck the Titan knocking it back to Joseph direction.
"What the!?" The Royal Guard and his party members were stunned
When Joseph saw the Titan coming to his direction, he just couldn't help but grin. Taking the opportunity given to him, SavageGentleman unsheathed his sword. His sword glowed purple then dashed, swinging his sword as the Titan neared him. His personal combo and the party combo burst, increasing rapidly as the Titan was struck multiple times. It was the classic one slash, multiple strikes kind of effect.
Not only was Joseph and the party's combo wasn't broken, the Titan's aggro returned back to SavageGentlman easily.
It was truly amazing that one of the parties, especially the Royal Guard's party froze as they rack their minds on how things turned out to be like that.
"How the heck?!"
"How is that even possible?!"
"I used 'Royal Decree' to steal the Titan's aggro but it was stolen right back in a blink of an eye. What just happened?! *Table-Flip Emoticon* *Fuming Emoticon*" The Royal Guard was really furious at the same time dumbfounded by the events that just happened.
Nico has researched all the classes, including the Spirits, so he understood what went down and exactly happened.
Using Halberd's 'War Cry' boosting his agility and movement speed to close the distance then following up with 'War Stomp' nullifying the taunt effect, then finishing up with 'Swing Impact' to push back the Titan in Joseph's direction, giving Joseph the opportunity to take back the aggro with 'Soul Shatter'. Nico was deeply impressed.
"Wonderful! *Clapping Emoticon* Let's keep this up! *Muscle Emoticon* *Go! Emoticon*" Nico sent in the party chat. He was fired up as well that he ended up charging into battle himself. He was confident in Joseph and PurpleRain's skills, knowing that he wouldn't need to look after them all the time.
CherishedSong casted 'Musical burst', following SavageGentleman's rhythm effortlessly, followed by 'Allegro Slash' then 'Coda Stomp'; but he didn't stop there, he then followed up with a high level skill 'Requiem of the Lost Souls'. The area around where the Titan stood, erupted with crying lost souls, sending chills to all the players around. 'Requiem of the Lost Souls' is a channeling skill that lasts for 10 second, inflicting high DPS damage and slowing effect to anyone within the AOE.
"Nice! *Woohoo Emoticon*" SavageGentleman praised in the party chat
"*Clapping Emoticon*" PurpleRain sent in the party chat. Her expectations of CherishedSong definitely didn't disappoint.
As CherishedSong kept channeling, SavageGentleman and PurpleRain's Spirit Halberd continued hacking and slashing the Titan to no end. The three of them were perfectly synchronized that the party combo kept increasing, thus making their over all party damage output reach into new heights, with the help of 'Harmony'.
"We cannot let them continue or else!" Some of the parties said, which the others agreed.
It's natural to fight over the Titan, but being monopolized by one party consisting of only three members were hurting all of their prides. Of course they did their best to fight over the Titan's aggro but in the end it was stolen back by CherishedSong's party easily.
"What can we do? I looked up who that Minstrel is, turned out he is the no. 1 Minstrel in all of Rampage" One of the parties said
All the other parties that heard this, silently cursed in the hearts as they helplessly watch CherishedSong's party stay on top of the leader board.
"No matter what, we have to stop them at all cost! Do whatever is necessary!" One of the parties said in desperation. All the other parties agreed and made it their goal to pull CherishedSong's party form the top of the leader board to the bottom.
As CherishedSong kept channeling, a huge meteor suddenly descended upon him. Not only that, a large array of skills were thrown not only at him but to SavageGentleman and PurpleRain as well. Seeing the incoming danger, CherishedSong quickly canceled 'Requiem of the Lost Souls' and swiftly casted 'Symphony of the Archangels' covering him and his party with golden musical notes and bar lines.
As the storm of skills rained down upon CherishedSong and his party, the other parties were rejoicing in their impending demise. Not only did they wipe out the bane of their existence, they dealt massive damage to the Titan, with this they couldn't be faulted if CherishedSong's party died in the process. They could just say that they were also trying to damage the Titan and they just happened to be in the way.
Watching as the storm of skills rain upon them, a vein almost popped in Joseph's forehead. Joseph was really in the brink of flipping his table. Yes, they wouldn't take any damage from the skills that was intended to kill them because of 'Symphony of the Archangels', but their rhythm was interrupted breaking their party combo in the process.
"Keep your cool Kuya, let's retreat for now" Nico told Joseph with a calm voice when he noticed that Joseph was about to lose it.
Joseph took a deep breath, then did what Nico said. He and Nico retreaded to where PurpleRain is. Already knowing that the whole party survived and noticed that SavageGentleman and CherishedSong were retreating, she also commanded Halberd to retreat.
"Let's hide behind the golden statues first, and let them attack the Titan for now. Besides, we'll be retreating anyways, since a special attack will be coming once the Titan's life reaches 50%." CherishedSong sent in the party chat.
The four of them hid behind the statues, out of everyone's sigh.
As the skill special effects died down and saw that CherishedSong's party was nowhere to be seen, All the parties rejoiced.
"Finally!"
"Serves them right!"
"F(*Beep*)ING NOOBS!"
But as they all rejoice, they actually forgot about the Titan. When the storm of skills hit the Titan, it's life dropped to 50%. So when the skill effects disappeared. The Titan, let out an angry roar, then struck the ground with her weapon releasing a powerful wave on all sides not letting anyone escape.
The parties were just rejoicing when suddenly their screens turned gray, indicating that their characters had died. A system announcement appeared making them all slump back on their sits.
"It's over.....?" They could just let out a sigh of regret.

"Ehhh?" All of them were stunned, not having the slightest idea how they died.
As they were all trying to understand what just happened, in the corner of their screens, they saw something that made them wanna puke blood.
"H-How are they still alive?!"
"How are these guys making beginners mistake in a Level 80 Titan Hunt? *Shocked Emoticon* *Shrugging Emoticon*" SavageGenltman sent in the party chat as he, CherishedSong, and PurpleRain charged towards the weaken Titan.
"Focus, we can't afford to make any mistakes" CherishedSong reminded once again in the party chat. As one can already see, a slight mistake can cost greatly.
They were not the only party that survived. Several parties also survived, the ones that are really serious and focused. They are also like CherishedSong and SavageGenltman who despises players who fools around. This parities are also the kind of party that doesn't mind working together with others as long as they reach and fulfill their goals.
"DPS! We can't let that Titan go berserk!" CherishedSong sent in the general chat. CherishedSong was confided that the ones left are the serious ones and would know what he is talking about.
The other parties that were left were very knowledgeable of the Titan; down to her history to her mechanics, they all studied it. So they knew that this weaken state of the Titan is very crucial, because they can already defeat that Titan in this state.
The battle raged on, as parties send forth wave after wave of unrelenting attacks. But alas in the end it wasn't enough. Just having 10% of its life, the Titan woke up form her weaken state and entered berserk state.
"We're too few to finish off the Titan in one go! *Depressed Emoticon*" SavageGentleman sent in the party chat.
"Well... This Is Where It Gets Interesting" CherishedSong could only say.
Notes:
Royal Guard -*Is a Warrior class and is deemed Ramapage's no. 1 tank. It is also the 5th most played class in Rampage. Royal Guards has the highest base Defense and Vitality among all the other classes.*
Celestial - *Is in the Fighter class and is the 7th most played class in Rampage.
Paragon -*Is in the support class and is the 13th most played class in Rampage.
Spirits -*Are ranked according to their rarity and difficulty to acquire. The ranking are as follows: Onyx for common, Obsidian for rare and Black Diamond for Saga.*
-*Spirits can be strengthen through leveling up. But it is known that Spirits are hard to level up and takes time.*
-*Spirits possess their own unique set of skills.*
-*Dressing up Spirits is a unique feature special only to Arcane Poets.*
-*Spirits are affected by party buffs.*
Taunt Skills -*Are skills used to draw the opponents' attention to focus on the player who used the skill.*
Titan: Special Skill 1 -*Enraged by the human greed, Pada will stuck the ground with her weapon and send fort a wave that turns everyone hit into gold, instantly killing them. The only way to avoid being killed by the attack is to to hide behind a golden statue. Once Pada has finished the attack, she will be unable to attack for a few second, making her vulnerable. While in this state, Pada is extremely weaken causing her to take sever damage, that usually causes her to be defeated. Unlike her welcoming skill, where one can still survive; this special attack will instantly kill anyone hit by the attack.*
Titan: Berserk state -*If Pada survives after being in her weaken stated, she will enter her berserk mode, causing all her stats to increase greatly. Also while in berserk state, she will frequently use her Special Skill 1 with out entering her weaken state.*
