Although Aos having continuously siphoned energy from the surrounding woods no longer felt hungry, the hares would prove rather tasty. Mostly because although the nature energy did satisfy the hunger it lacked any taste or satisfaction.
Once the old man and Aos reached the wooden cave, the old man displayed an ability which Aos had yet to see. The old man created a small firepit but without putting any tinder for a fire to burn, reached his hand into the middle of the fire pit and release a tiny green spark. This green spark flared into a beautiful green flame. The flame was finely controlled and stayed neatly within the fire pit.
Aos stared at this beautiful flame with her mouth hanging open in pure amazement. The old man clarified to Aos that "This is nature's breath. The flames created through burning pure nature energy. Once both feared and admired..." the old man seemingly regressing into some old repressed memories.
Silently Aos stared at the old man while he skinned the hares with a conjured wooden knife and then proceeded to slowly roast the hares individually over the green flames.
Aos' anticipation slowly grew until she saw the first roasted hare. Aos without noticing began slightly drooling at the thought of how the hare would taste.
Eventually, in what seemed like an eternity to Aos. The old man handed a roasted hare to her. She quickly began devouring the hare but before she finished eating it she noticed that although the hare had died it still had small amounts of the natural green energy within it. Pausing at this revelation. Aos carefully focused on the hare and noticed that although the energy network within the hare had ceased functioning and appeared dull and lifeless, some points throughout the network still had scattered fragments of energy.
Aos pleased that although siphoning energy through meditation was far more efficient, she still had the alternative of normal food consumption while still granting her small amounts of energy.
Aos who now had trained for a nearly a day straight and now had eaten a very tasty hare quickly fell into a deep slumber.
The old man looked at Aos who had laid down on the wooden floor of the cave and smiled. Seeing himself in Aos.
