Chương 36: Reborn 35: Nathalia's Parents
It's been two weeks since that kidnapping event and today's a weekend, Nathalia, Josh, and Zen came over to Anna's place to hang out. The three of them met Anna's grandfather for the first time, at first they thought that they would feel pressure because of him but they were wrong, Anna's grandfather is not all that bad in what the public said, in fact, he's mild as long as you won't make anything that would turn him into what the public said.
As they were enjoying their time together, Nathalia notices someone who seems to be so familiar to her. That someone is talking with Anna's mother in the garden having tea. She slowly approached the near the garden and trying to eavesdrop their conversation.
"Any news?" Anna's mom asked.
"No, I'm still trying." Nathalia's eyes widened when she heard that voice, that voice was something she clearly familiar with, her father's voice. To make sure that it is his father who's talking with Anna's mother she stretched her head trying to peek. As she did that she lost her balance and fall to the ground, the impact was loud enough to startle them. "Who's there?" The voice was so cold and Nathalia felt a shiver in her spine.
When Nathalia saw that man's face she was so sure that is her father. She never knows that her father can be so cold when speaking, her father's tone of voice every time he speaks to her was gentle and very loving.
"Hi, daddy," Nathalia said in an awkward tone. Leonardo's expression tells that he's shocked to see his only daughter on the ground. Without any distraction, he quickly helps Nathalia get up.
Seeing how worried and caring Leonardo was Mary might now shot it but she's deep in shocked by him. She knows that Leonardo loves his only child deeply but she never would have expected that he would show this side of him to other people even to her. His soft side is all new to her, she silently took a picture of these and send it to Leonardo's wife.
Leonardo heard a giggle behind him he immediately turns around he saw that Mary is holding her phone and could already guess what she's doing. After all the years he has known Mary he knows what kind of tactics she has on her mind. Seeing her holding her phone he knew that Mary took a picture of a side that he rarely let others see it and sent it to someone that he doesn't have a clue on.
"Delete it," Leonardo said in a commanding voice.
Mary looked at him and arched her left eyebrow, "Why would I? You're not the boss of me." Mary rebuke in a provocative tone.
Nathalia is bewildered as she saw her father and Anna's mother coldly talk to each other arguing about the photo that Anna's mother took. Even though they talk in that kind of tone she could feel that they are pretty close to each other and they are used to it. Nathalia then remembered back in the hospital what Anna's mother just said to her, she said that she knows her parents so it's only natural for her to understand that both her father and Anna's mother are pretty close to each other, there is no misunderstanding to it.
"Such a small world," Nathalia mumbled to herself. To think that she met the daughter and son of her parents' friend and she had become close to them little by little.
Anna who's been watching the whole seen walk slowly behind Nathalia and heard what she said. "What do you mean by that?" She asked.
Nathalia was startled by the sudden voice behind her. She turned around saw Anna behind her smiling as if she did nothing happened. "I never knew that our parents would know each other before we did. That's I think that the world is small." Saying all this Nathalia felt slightly disappointed by her father. He should've at least introduced Anna to her a long time ago so that she wouldn't have to break Anna's wall in her heart little by little now.
"Wait... Your dad is uncle Leo?" Anna asked she is quite shocked to know that the man her mother is talking to now is Nathalia's father.
"Yeah. His last name is Vendallin like mine, isn't that obvious."
"Well, I never knew his last name. Since my mom never told me and she only calls him Leo, so I call him uncle Leo. I barely even talk to him since he seems to not like to talk." Anna kept on repeating 'Vendallin' in mind until she suddenly remembered that she knew someone who shared the same last name as Nathalia so she asks, "Is Crona Vendallin your mom?" Nathalia nodded in response.
"No wonder I was annoyed to hear your last name at that time." A sudden voice was heard behind the two girls. It was Aaron and the other two came near them, Aaron overheard their conversation an joined in.
"What on earth do you mean by that a**hole?" Nathalia was clearly annoyed by Aaron, does he have a grudge against her mother? He gentle mother?
"Well, you see..." Anna told Nathalia every single detail about why Aaron is annoyed by her mother.
After hearing Anna's explanation she felt embarrassed, she knew her mother is obsessed with a certain young model. Her mother always talks about that certain model's charm every day, Nathalia herself is never interested in those kinds of things and never had the time to see who's the person that her mother is always praising. Now that she knows that certain someone is Aaron she now understands why her mother would always praise him, Aaron does have this mysterious charm that can pull make anyone awe in sight.
