Chương 48: I intended to kill her back then
Huang Qiuyan gets a goosebump in her body when she sees the massacre. The walls are splattered with blood. There are ashes, firer, and the scent of chaotic magic. The purebloods are too strong.
She reaches the place where Fu Mian is being held.
Fu Sheng is standing on the right. There's an arrow stuck to his thigh. The other purebloods are also hurt. One can easily tell that they could collapse at any moment. The pulsating orbs of condensed energy floating in the air, aimed at the hunters on the left end.
On the left end, Ian's troupe are pointing the weapons at the purebloods. With one command, the weapons can be launched at the purebloods. They aren't doing anything better than the purebloods. "Your mate is here," Ian says in a low voice.
Fu Sheng has sensed it already. He can't be bothered with her at this moment. Fu Mian will be hurt if he commits a single mistake. "Let my daughter go."
Ian chortles. "Is she your daughter? You kidnapped her from her parents."
Fu Mian sniffles. They have been telling her these things for hours. Feeling her sadness, Fu Sheng snarls at Ian. "Shut up."
"You took her with you because she's could be used against you. You were planning to kill her." Ian peeks at Fu Mian. The child is listening with tears in her eyes. "Is it not true, Fu Sheng?"
Fu Mian glances at her father, expecting an answer. She doesn't want to believe the hunters. She wants him to tell them that it's not true.
Huang Qiuyan is also curious to know the answer. The system informed her about Fu Mian's background, but she has seen Fu Sheng's care and love for Fu Mian. She doesn't want to trust the system completely. Since he didn't kill her family when he met them, she doesn't think that he's a complete monster. She used to think that vampires were evil.
The humans aren't anything better.
"It's true," Fu Sheng replies after some silence. "I took her away from her parents and I was planning to kill her. I didn't want her to be used against the vampires."
Fu Sheng knows what Ian is trying to do in front of his mate and daughter. His mate hasn't accepted him yet. Ian wants to poison their hearts against him. Without a doubt, they have told a twisted story to Fu Mian.
"I wanted to protect the last purebloods in this world. I intended to kill her back then," Fu Sheng speaks quietly,
