Minhyun walked through the airport.
Striding beside of him were his security guards, whom were all clothed in black suits, and his secretary. They grabbed the attention of all the people around them. Nobody could ignore the group of posh men making their way through the crowd. However, the main attention grabber of the group was no other than Minhyun. All the women couldn't help but stare at the beautiful at the lead.
Some wanted to get his contact information but his cold atmosphere was a sign that they would face rejection. All they could do was watch in awe before he could disappear.
When he was younger, Minhyun hated the gazes of others, to the point of wanting to hide. However, after going to school and running the business, the attention was now a part of his daily life. He had become accustomed to them.
Upon reaching the entrance, there was a black Cadillac waiting to pick him up. Another car was parked right behind to drive the security guards.
Before entering the vehicle, Minhyun signaled Secretary Kim to inform the guards about their departure.
When the MH Company first heard about his flight, they wanted to celebrate his arrival with a grand party. After all, their president had come back to his home country.
However, Minhyun had other plans. He didn't want to waste his time with such nonsense. He just wanted to see his childhood sweetheart. So, he declined their offer.
Secretary Kim nodded before facing the buff men. "Our president is going to go somewhere private. Do not follow and return to the company."
Although the guards were in charge of his well-being, Minhyun did not want to scare Yoona. He wanted to look as humble as possible. Besides, there had been no death threats in the last few days. He wasn't going to die anytime soon. Most of the people after him were just kidnappers who wanted ransom anyways.
In their minds, some of the guards wanted to protest, for they worried for their boss's safety. But they had to obey Minhyun's every order without hesitation.
They nodded and took a bow, watching the president as he went inside the back of the car.
Finally, Minhyun had time to breath. The guards were suffocating.
Secretary Kim sat at the front, beside of the driver. He informed him about their destination. The restaurant Bianchi.
For the third time, Secretary Kim triple checked to make sure Yoona was working during this shift. If she wasn't there, the president would not be happy. Luckily, everything seemed to be going according to plan.
As the car speed out of the airport and into the highway, Minhyun couldn't help but stare at the view outside of his window. He needed a distraction from his thumping heart. Never in his life, did he feel so excited.
How long had it been?
Almost fifteen years since he last saw Yoona. Although he had photos of her, offered by his intel team, he rarely looked at them. He felt as if he was invading her privacy. Besides, no matter how pretty the photos were, they could never show Yoona's true beauty. He wanted to see her in person.
"How long will it take to get there?"
The driver peered at the mirror, making eye-contact with the president. "At least thirty minutes sir."
Minhyun clicked his tongue. Thirty minutes? It was too long. He wanted to see her instantly. Despite his displeasure, he leaned his head against his palm, waiting for the seemingly endless ride to pass.
Multiple questions whizzed through his brain.
Would Yoona recognize him?
Probably not. She was only six years old when they met. Plus, after many years, Minhyun had grown from a boy to a man. There were many differences in his physique and personality. Although it would be great if she did, he knew that he had to be realistic.
Was life hard after her mother got fired?
Since Minhyun was young and under the surveillance of his father, he wasn't able to keep track with Yoona during his high school days. Although he heard that Yoona was a diligent student and had helped her mother with work, he wasn't able to get more to the story. There was barely any traces of her on the internet. That was either a good or bad thing, depending on the context.
How did she get involved with the Moon siblings?
Minhyun knew of the twins due to their affiliation with the Moon Group whom he's met at galas a few times. They were a part of one of the richest families in Korea. Other than their university and major, there was no reason for them to have become close friends. He was curious to how the whole deal went down.
All in all, he just couldn't wait to meet her. The problem was that he didn't know what to expect from their reunion.
One thing he knew for sure however, was that he was going to kill the Moon Siblings. With or without Yoona's approval. For they would become the reason for their family's downfall.
---
Despite the morning event, Yoona trudged herself to work.
After getting covered by flour, she quickly ran back to her apartment, avoiding all pitiful gazes from the other pedestrians. There was nothing she could do about her state while in public. When she arrived, her shower was immediately turned on and she made sure to clean every single piece of flour off of her body.
The accident brought tears to her eyes, no doubt about it. However, she just let them fall along with the shower, so that it looked like she hadn't cried at all.
She really didn't want to go to work. In fact, she felt embarrassed to even be around Eunha and Lucas. Yesterday they saw her cry for the first time. She didn't want them to think she was a damsel in distress, needing to be saved. However, money was tight and she didn't want to put more workload on her manager.
Upon her arrival, Eunha greeted her with a wide smile. From her twinkling eyes, it was clear that Eunha was genuinely happy to see her.
Yoona sent her a light smile back.
"Was today okay?" Eunha asked. She was cleaning the cups. "The Moon siblings didn't do anything too terrible right?"
Yoona froze in her place. As of right now, the bad memories were too fresh and she was at work. This would be a very bad time to tell Eunha about the flour incident.
"I'll tell you later," she replied.
Eunha could automatically tell something was wrong by her answer. She wanted to murder those freaking Moon siblings! Nonetheless, she nodded and didn't press Yoona further. Clearly, her friend didn't want to linger on the topic.
Since the time reached five o'clock, Yoona officially began to work.
She refilled the waters and tended the current customers, while staying near the door to bring new customers to her tables. Although strained, the usual waitress smile lingered on her face.
She caught Lucas a few times, looking at her suspiciously. Clearly, he noticed that something was wrong with her. However, as if he read her mind, he didn't ask about it when she was near. God bless him.
The sound of bells echoed through the room and Yoona made her way to the entrance. Someone had come to the restaurant.
She grabbed the menus and sent the new people a smile. As if she was reciting a script, she began her waitress lines. "Welcome to Bianchi, how many people?"
When she looked up to analyze her customers, a soft gasp escaped her lips. At the entrance was the most beautiful male she had ever seen. Even Jaemin, could not compared to the black-haired individual in front of her. An air of luxury surrounded this man.
Oh no. This was not good.
When it came to Yoona and beautiful rich people, she realized that something always bad happened to her around them. The cheater customer. The Moon siblings. Etc.
She gulped and continued to smile, not letting the customer noticed her uneasiness.
"For two please," Secretary Kim answered.
She nodded. "Right this way sirs."
Yoona prayed that this day wouldn't turn out any worse. Please let these customers be nice.
I just wanted to say, thank you so much for bearing with me and being patient for Minhyun to come. I know it was long due, however, I just really wanted to build Yoona's story. As you can tell, I don't want to make this novel like any other, I want to make it special. This is why I wanted to particular focus on Yoona to make his entrance a little more special.
Don't worry! His appearances will be a lot more frequent now since he is in Korea.
Just like always, don't forget to vote!
