Chương 53: The Church's Mission

So, you could say the East Kingdom were suffering from internal affair, civil war, and reorganization, but even then, it didn't change the fact they were owning almost the entire Eastern area at that time. "Okay, stop praising that fake Goddess, just tell me why you are working together with the Mercenary?" I rolled my eyes and kicked the Bishop's back, he groaned in pain while glaring at me with hate, of course, I just insulted his Goddess.
The reason why I could carelessly call Larentia and Pangu in such a manner because I knew these two, well, not personally, but I read the history about them, Larentia and Pangu were both human, but they managed to reach a certain threshold of cultivation level, therefore, they were ascending toward the path of Divines, making them basically an immortal.

"Who is Volt? And who the heck is Keanu?" I wrinkled my eyebrows, another new name? And that name sounded bad-ass.
"Keanu is our researcher, while Volt..." the Bishop went silent, from the look of his wrinkled face, it's like he was having constipation.
I extended sword energy and cut off his arm, the Bishop's left arm flew into the air, still connected to his body through the thread of blood.
"Aaaaaaah!!!" the Bishop screamed, thankfully I had put a sound barrier inside the room, so his annoying voice wouldn't alarm the entire church.
"Stop being a baby, it's just an arm," I shrugged, then I watched the Bishop laid on the ground while grasping what's left of his arm, the blood poured like a waterfall.
"You... you..." the Bishop was looking at me with panic and terror, good, no more disobedience.
"Tell me the truth, and I'll restore your arm."
"Hah... hah... fine, fine, Volt is part of our new army, it is called Hell Knight!"
"Good boy," I nodded and walked toward him, started growing his arm back with the spell.
The Church's new division, Hell Knight, was an army that had the power to control Dark Element.
First of all, why the Church for all of their preaching about kindness and forgiving actually started building an army? The templar, the Paladin, the Holy Knight, and finally, the Hell Knight...
The templar was the first army they had ever created, and the original reason was to maintain the peace of the Southern area.
Back in the days, before the era where Savage Race became a problem, the southern area had suffered terror from the nocturnal creatures, such as vampires, bones, and ghouls, so it's the templar's jobs to slay them.
The Paladin was a name for the templar's commander while also the strongest among the templar.
The templar fought with Holy-enchanted armors and weapons, but they didn't use magic because humans couldn't use magic, and the Church was a human-only organization despite Larentia's teaching was accepted by many races.
As time progress, the enemies they had to fight were getting more complex, such as Ogre, Orc, or Troll, which no weapons could handle their tough skin, thus, the Holy Knight Initiation began. The church began to carry on experiment on how to create a knight who could utilize the Holy magic to kill them.
In fact, Holy Knight started off from the branch of priest and cleric, and the only people who could carry on the process were somewhat women.
"The Hell Knight is our recent initiation, however, we don't take the people of the Church to protect its secrecy..."
"What a hypocrite, you spread hate against the Dark Element and its creature, however, now you take advantage of it..." I couldn't help but sneer.
"In order to fulfill our goal, it is not enough only the right hand, we need the left hand also," the Bishop sneered back at me, "as a creature, you are only perfect when you have both hands, it is the same with us."
"What goal exactly? Resurrecting Larentia? Don't you have Celestine?"
"Yes, we have Goddess Celestine... but she's not enough... she can't stop what's coming..." the Bishop said in a depressed tone.
My heart slightly cold, I could sense the foreboding feel crept into my nerve, said, "What's coming?"
"Nyx's awakening..." the Bishop said, "the seal that kept Nyx at bay is growing weaker, and if we don't come up with a solution fast, I am afraid all would be too late."
Then the Bishop was looking at me, said, "Thankfully, the Arc Bishop and the 12 ministers of the Church have the idea, that in order to solve Nyx, there is only one thing we can do, resurrecting's our Goddess, Larentia."
"However, to accomplish that, we need to have two things; first, we have to convert all the territories in the continent to worship our Goddess, that means we have to eradicate the East Kingdom..."
"Second, we need to find someone with the Divinity's soul, he and the one who possessed Goddess Larentia's soul need to perform sexual intercourse, causing the two souls to be united, thus Goddess Larentia would be whole again."
The one who possessed Larentia's soul was Celestine, right? That meant Celestine would need to have sex with someone?
Well, how could I let that happened? Although I and she weren't a couple, yet, she had called me Husband, besides, she's gorgeous, there was no way in anyone's right mind would let other men infringed her.
