Afterwards they attempted to free the room of the Roses they settled for freeing the doors the roses had covered. The beds weren't covered thank goodness, and neither was the floor. Actually only the walls and ceiling are actually covered.... except my bed, which the roses and converged on. So currently I was watching Cross whom was panicking and attempting to hack the roses apart... it wasn't working, his sword kept bouncing off with a 'Clang!' each time. The King was just watching this opened mouthed and Cassandra looked like she was about to have a panic attack fearing he would actually hit me.
"Cross let me try something before you accidentally hit me." I plead and he reluctantly steps away, his eyes showed exactly how worried he was.
"Cyrus, let me go." I said, but I channeled Mana as I did so. The vines slowly started releasing me, all but a small vine wrapped around the upper part of my arm. But I could move, so I climbed down from the bed and was instantly engulfed in a hug. It was not the King who did it either, it was Cross.
"Cross your going to squish me!" I whined and he loosened his arms, but did not release me.
"Thank goodness... Cassandra didn't think you had a chance... Thank goodness..." I was squeezed tighter at the last line. I looked up at the King and he patted my head wearily. Cross finally let go and I retreated a couple of places and with my head slightly lowered I apologized.
"Sorry for all the trouble I caused." I mumbled. I was utterly useless, getting sick like that, not only causing worry but taking up the Kings time... In my past life I would have been beaten for getting sick... I can't believe I got sick, what an idiot move. Swack! Someone hit my head.
"Owww!" I clutched my head and crouched down.
"Might have used to much power there King." Cross muttered. The King crouched down next to me and forced me to look up into his eyes. He stared at me in anger.
"You should never, ever, EVER, apologize for sickness. Or weaknesses. Your a child. Not an adult. Stop blaming yourself for things you cannot control. Stop it, Matt wouldn't want this. Just, ask for help, your only human." He growled at me, but his voice grew tender by the end. He patted my head before sighing deeply.
"Sorry..." Little tears fell from my face, and I buried my head in his chest, as I hugged him. I felt him stiffen in surprise, before hugging me back.
