I snuck away in the dead of night. We are currently at the last oasis before Border Town, and I need to be inside the town before Arin and the others come back.
I should also destroy the fake Adventurer's Guild ID before changing my armor back to my normal one.
After that, I need to receive my money from the zombie clerk, and make up a good alibi. Otherwise, Arin, Arkan, Bork or any of the people who know me may begin to suspect something.
Anyway, I managed to reach the inn in a couple of hours. Sneaking in and getting back into my room is no problem, but it seems like there's someone else in my room.
I could sense their presence, and Ed appraise them through the wall just to be sure.
[Name: Catherine
Class: Innkeeper
Level: 12]
Catherine?! What is she doing in my room! This is bad. She already knows that I'm not here… I doubt a simple girl like her would be able to keep her mouth shut in front of the Church. What should I do?
Killing her is something I don't want to do… but what else can I do to make sure she keeps her mouth shut?
As I was pondering on the best route of action, the door to my room suddenly opened, revealing Catherine's figure.
Her eyes were a bit glazed over, and she had a slight blush on her cheeks.
"Y-Yo, Catherine!" (Daniel)
"A-Ah! Daniel! I want to see you so much that I'm dreaming about you now…" (Catherine)
Does she think she's dreaming? This could work!
But the question is, what was she doing in my room?
"Come, let's go to my room." (Daniel)
As if she was sleepwalking, Catherine simply followed me in.
As soon as I entered, a gust of aroma assaulted my nose. It was a slightly sour and sweet smell, probably mixed in with some sweat.
I think I have a good enough idea about what just happened.
(A/N: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
But as soon as one question was answered, multiple others came up in my mind. Why does she like me? More like, is there anything that I've done that could make her like me?
The only time I can think of is when I tried to save her in the dining area, but I didn't even move then!
"C-Catherine, why do you like me?" (Daniel)
'Oh boy. Such a question straight out of the blue? I'm starting to wonder how you even got a wife.' (Ed)
'Shut it! The only reason I'm so direct is because she thinks she's dreaming.' (Daniel)
"L-Like you, Daniel? That's simple! You're handsome, you seem like you are good at fighting, and you don't dislike my appearance! I've seen your gaze on my tail and ears ever since you arrived… it's the first time someone stared at them without showing disgust or repulsion." (Catherine)
Oh boy! This is why humans are… the very best! The normal humans discriminate against demi-humans, which allows for situation like this! Hahahahaha!
All jokes aside though, I don't think this is a relationship that could work out. I'll be leaving Border Town soon, and I'm not sure Catherine would be able to survive out in the wild with such a class and level.
"Catherine, where are your parents? I've only ever seen you in the inn." (Daniel)
"My mother works in the kitchen, and my father… *hic* my father… *sob* passed away before I was born." (Catherine)
Is she drunk? This is the kind of reaction that a drunk person would have, not someone who thinks they're dreaming.
Well, whatever. I'm sure she won't remember anything come the next morning.
(A/N: Lemon? Or no lemon? If there is lemon, it'll probably be a one-night stand. Anyway, if there is lemon, it'll be under another title, not this novel.)

[Catherine POV]
Daniel hasn't been seen for a week by now. He used to come down every day for breakfast, only to buy more food outside.
Hehehe! Maybe he thinks it's rude to not eat food that's been prepared already.
Haaaaaa… Arinnya seems to be interested in him, and I don't want her to be my rival.
As for why I like Daniel? After my father died, people have been looking at my mother and I with looks that no-one should have to face.
Whether it's disgust or lust, they're all the same. But one day, Daniel appeared in front of me.
Instead of the usual disgust, his gaze held a curious note, and most of his gazes were directed towards my tail and ears.
I feel a little uncomfortable when he stares so intensely, but it's a nice feeling.
One day, I was serving a rude adventurer when he suddenly shouted at me.
"OI! Don't touch me, filthy beast!" (???)
Nyaaaaa! So scary! Is no-one going to save me?
Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see Daniel with a look that said he was struggling.
Arinnya has told me that he has amnesia, and that his equipment is very expensive. Maybe he's trying to think of a way to save me without exposing himself?
Ah! He's so handsome!
(A/N: This part is one of those flowery visions that you get from animes, called Catherine Vision. It's already in her POV, so it'll sound weird if I say it again.)
In the end, Arinnya was the one who saved me. But after that, she dragged Daniel on a date! That's unfair!
She'll have a stern talking to when she comes back.
After that whole incident, there's been something weird with me. Whenever I see Daniel, my heart tightens, along with something else in my lower body.
(A/N: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
After he stopped showing up, I even went inside his room to smell his scent! This time, I think that I'm lucky for being a cat beastmen. Our noses are much more sensitive, so I can easily pick up his scent.
It smells so nice! Getting caught up in the moment, I start touching myself.
Then, it was like a blocked-up hose that had managed to clear all of the obstructions. I started doing the same thing every night, when my mother was asleep.
One night, I even dreamed of Daniel showing up! It was so embarrassing! But since I was dreaming, there shouldn't be a problem if I confess, right?
I'm sorry Arinnya, but please let me have him at least in my dreams.

[Daniel POV]
I don't really remember what happened last night, but I woke up only to find Catherine sleeping next to me, using my arm as a pillow.
I'm so screwed this time!
9th chapter of the day!
Comment if you want me to write any lemon.
It'll be my first time, so it might actually be horrible. Still, I'll try.
Thanks for reading!
