"And who are you?"
"The sister of the kid who's now lying in the infirmary, hurt by the two little delinquents you two gave birth to."
Hearing this answer, silence enshrouded the room.
The principal was shocked that there was actually someone who could stand up to these two.
Even before, when he had been asked to erase evidence, he couldn't do anything but keep his mouth shut.
The blood had rushed to his head, and the frustration he felt was on such a level that he was almost sure that he would get a heart attack just from feeling angry.
He really wished he could quit the job, but the nasty people on the board would make sure that he wouldn't be able to get a job anywhere else. Besides, he needed the money to support his family.
Hence, when he saw this woman say these words in a tone that clearly showed that she didn't care what they thought, it felt so good.
However, he started to panic, as he knew that this woman was someone who also depended on her job to place food on the table for her family.
He opened his mouth to warn her, but he was already too late as the other two had recovered from their shock.
"HOW DARE YOU CALL MY SON A DELINQUENT! The gall!! You and your family are delinquents! You think I don't know about you?! You live in the poorest neighborhood in the city! I could have you kicked out with ONE phone call! And your ant of a brother? I'll make sure no public school takes him in! KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT, OR I WILL DESTROY YOU!"
The woman was almost spitting on Liz's face when she said these words in an angry fit. Her face turned red, and veins had started to pop on her forehead.
As for the man, he was equally angry, but he was apparently waiting for the woman to be done before he could speak.
"And I'll make sure you lose your job! I don't know where you work, but with your background, I'm pretty sure that its some second-rate company! I can call your boss right now and make sure that he fires you! What makes you think you can even speak in our presence?"
Seeing these two people speak in this way, Liz tried to comprehend just how drunk one must be on power in order to threaten to ruin one's family just because they were opposed.
She hadn't even said anything bad. However, these two were already jumping for her throat.
Normally, she might have considered apologizing, because it could have been possible for these two to carry out their threats.
After all, having no school for Derek and having no job to sustain the family weren't small things.
However, she had someone on her side, who made an entrance at this moment.
Till now, Liz was at the door, and Will had been standing to the side, unseen to the two parents inside the principal's office.
Now, as he walked into their vision, both of them opened their eyes wide and took a step back.
They recognized who he was immediately, as his face had recently been plastered on the cover of the Times magazine as the one of those among the most powerful CEO in the world.
"Mr-Mr. Will, good afternoon, sir! How are you? What brings you here?"
The man was the first one to recover, as, after all, he was a CEO himself who had experience dealing with tough situations.
The woman, however, was still looking on with shock.
"Oh, nothing. I heard that someone was 'bullying' my personal assistant and her family. I wanted to find just who had the 'gall' to do so to one of the employees I treasure a lot."
Hearing these two words thrown at them, the man and woman took another step back, but they had already reached the principal's desk.
Meanwhile, the principal was wondering why this man whom he had seen in the morning was here outside his office.
Of course, the reactions of the two weren't lost on him, so he was also puzzled as to who the man might be.
Yet, the next words that he said made these thoughts leave his mind, as they were replaced by such an intense feeling of happiness and satisfaction that a wide smile spread on the principal's face.
"You- I've sent a message to your board, you are immediately suspended pending investigation for poor ethics. You- all of your orders have been rescinded, and your factories have been blacklisted for using sub-par manufacturing tools. You have some time to spend at home with your kids, so I hope you use it to educate them regarding how one is supposed to treat their peers. Say one word in response, and these changes to your livelihoods will be permanent. Now, apologize and get out."
