Chương 11: Three Phone calls and a surprise 1
A few minutes after she said that Director Du who from his seat replied "You have been working hard lately, I observed that you only ate little,you need to take better care of your health". Contrary to popular opinion he did not really dislike Xue Meili, it was true that she wasn't his first choice of female leads but she had truly proven herself that he didn't see anyone that could possibly capturing the essence of her character Li Liang well the director thought as he made his statement. The crew on the other hand were humbled by Xue Meili's earlier statement. Xue Meili had proven herself in their eyes, even with how bad they treated her she never complained,
She even took the blame for the delay their actions caused that they felt very ashamed. "I will take better care thank you Director Du" Xue Meili said in reply to the director's statement. She was glad that the director had finally accepted her. The had their lunch and when they were done Xue Meili left the set as she didn't have any other scenes to shoot until tomorrow evening. Jung Jianguo was coming home this afternoon in the 3pm flight from A city to S city. She hadn't seen him since Saturday morning so she was looking forward to his return.
It was already 2:30 in the afternoon when she her phone began to ring. She had been studying her script as she had to familiarize herself with the script since she got back from the set. She quickly picked up the phone to see who the caller was before wiping to pick up the call. It was none other than Madam Jian, her call even though unexpected was not a surprise, Madam Jian had always liked her and had kept in touch with her even after the event of three years ago.
"Hello, Madam Jian how are you doing today? Xue Meili said after picking the call.
"Xiao Li, am good how are you and Jianguo doing? Madam Jian replied. Xue Meili had always been a well behaved child that was why she'd hoped for her to become her daughter-in-law but sadly that was not meant to be since she got married to Jung Jianguo. For the longest time she'd hoped that Mengyao who get his head straight but he hasn't if not he wouldn't be considered marrying that gold digging sl*t Feng Mimi even with everyone against that marriage.
"We are good, auntie Jian I trust everyone is well? Xue Meili said. The Jian had always treated her well, growing up they were a second family for her and Jian Mengyao back then was big brother Mengyao even though he was only a year older than her. "they are good,I ran into your mother madam Xue at lunch and she said you were currently shooting a movie in S city" Madam Jian said in reply.
"Yes I am Auntie Jian" Xue Meili said. She was suprised that Aunt Jian did not already know that considering Feng Mimi was also casted in the series. However judging from Madam Jian's character she most likely wasn't fond of Feng Mimi. She wasn't in support of Jian Mengyao and Feng Mimi's relationship in the beginning and it seams years hasn't changed that. Madam Jian had always been very smart and a good judge of character.if she wasn't she never would have led the Jian family company Softcare to where they were now since she took over from old master Jian. Jian Mengyao's father Jian Zhuang didn't follow in his father's foot steps instead he studied law and become a judge. Jian Mengyao's elder sister Jian Meixiu took after her father and was now one of the country's leading Lawyers, at the age of twenty eight. "Good,it's been a while since we've chatted. Two Saturday from now is the birthday ceremony of old masrer Jian, we would like to you and young master Jung to be present" Madam Jian said over the phone. "Jianguo and I will be there,Thank you auntie Jian" Xue Meili replied. she'd also remembered that old masrer Jian's birthday was around the corner and had prepared a gift as usual even when she was not around she always sent gifts as old master Jian and old madam Jian were like grand parents to her. "very good,now Xiao Li you take care of yourself and Jianguo,send my greetings to the Jung's, goodbye" Madam Jian said and cut the call.
She then rose up her head to her assisted Chu Lan who had been standing in her sturdy for sometime,it would seem that she had a visitor. "Madam Jian, Ms Feng Mimi is here to see you" Chu Lan said when Madam Jian finished her phone call and rose up her head, he'd worked for her for years now and was well aware of her mannerisms. "Huh she's very predictable,tell her to leave am tired and that same reply should be given if Mengyao should call but his should be added that Old master Jian his grandfather does not wish to see any outsiders that day" Madam Jian said with a slight frown. She didn't have the patience to deal with that child and neither did her father and mother-in-law, they were already questioning Mengyao's succession luckily she had convinced them to delay it by a few years by then Mengyao would have seen her for what she was a gold digger. Madam Jian did not have a problem with her being poor on the contrary that didn't matter as long as the love was genuine but that wasn't the case with Feng Mimi.
Feng Mimi had been standing outside Jian Manor when madam Jian's special assistant Chu Lan opened the doors and said to her "Jian Tai Tai is tired and is not receiving any visitors today" after which he turned and walked back into the house.
Feng Mimi stood for a few minutes with her fingers clenched before entering into her car. Who did those servants think they were, they didn't even give her any face, she was going to be their future madam after all. Madam Jian refuses to let her enter Jian Manor but not for long, soon she would have no other choice but to accept her.
After answering madam Jian's phone call, Xue Meili coutinued studying the script. By around 2:55 She received a message from Jianguo that they had already boarded the plane and were about to take off. The journey was a forty five minutes flight so by 3:30 she left for S city airport. By 4:45 the flight had landed and ten minutes later Jung Jianguo was walking down the arrival Tunnel.
