Chương 30: SAP

Nothing much had changed about what Mark could do with the Mana in their soul, even though their souls had been connected. The only difference was related to attributes. He could now change the Mana inside their soul to become water or air. For some reason, he wasn't able to control wind after he got the attribute, but he could now, so he assumed it was related to his soul.

Changing the property was what he had done before to create liquid Mana instead of the gaseous form it normally is. The wind attribute didn't change the Mana like water did, but it still affected their soul. It made the two vortexes in the center of their soul become bigger and their range of gathering Mana was greatly enhanced.

He couldn't control fire like Amelia could, so there were still some limitations. While he was messing around inside their soul, Amelia ad dragged him with her to the front of the line. She shook Mark to get his attention and he looked towards the receptionist, a young boy.

"Before we get the S.A.P." She pointed at the headbands, wristbands, and necklaces as she asked, "can you explain what it does?"

The receptionist boy nodded his head; many people that come here ask him similar questions. "The SAP is as its full name suggests, a projection of your soul avatar. Hence, Soul Avatar Projector. You can use these," he pointed at the accessories, "to send your avatar to a place called Novus, or New in our language, but it's more commonly known as Novus, so most people have taken to calling it as such."

"Why would we want to do that?" Amelia asked. There had to be a reason for why so many people would line up to get this item, a reason better than just because it was free.

The boy's eyes sparkled as he found something that he actually liked talking about, "That's a good question. The reason why everyone, young and old, male or female, and the poor or rich come lining up to get this item is because of how it change them. When the avatar is in Novus, your body will be immobile, and you'll experience everything your Soul Avatar is doing in Novus. But that's not the main reason why people want a SAP," the boy let out a happy sigh as he remembered his own experience. "The main reason why this is so popular, other than the fact that it's free, is because your Soul Avatar can become stronger in Novus."

"Okay. Thanks for the information, but why does your Soul Avatar becoming stronger matter," Amelia asked the question that Mark asked her to ask inside their soul.

"You don't even know that and you still came here? It must be your lucky day. Using a new material that has been found, which is why the place it takes you to is called Novus, scientist across the planet have found out its use. They didn't have to do anything special with the material, all they had to do is touch it, and their Soul Avatar would be transported."

The boy continued, "This discovery was made very recently, only a few days ago. The scientists had different accessories created that could be activated to make the new material touch the person, and they had it mass produced. What was astonishing though, is when the avatar grew stronger inside Novus, so would the actual person! Well, only a fraction of how much the Soul Avatar grew. Right now the scientists are focusing on that aspect, while many people are growing stronger by the day."

"Okay, I'm done explaining. I can't answer any more questions, otherwise the line will never move. Here, choose an accessory," the boy said and showed them all of the different accessories.

Amelia and Mark both chose a ring, one red and one blue. Amelia got the red one and Mark the blue, and the rings went on their right pointing finger. There were many accessories that weren't on public display that the boy had taken out, such as earings, which is when they had decided on getting rings.

They walked away from the line so that they could talk.

"Now that we got this, we need to find a place to use it," said Amelia.

"Follow me," Mark took her hand and started walking. He took her back to the alleyway he had lived in for many years and then went farther into it. It got darker, but Mark and Amelia could still see well. Using a Water Ball, he cleaned away everything in the alleyway, making it much nicer. Then he activated the space ring that they had taken with them from the previous dimension, and out came a tent.

"We can use this to test the SAP," Mark said with pride.

"Are you sure nobody will come here?" Amelia asked as she looked around the once disgusting but now decent looking alleyway.

"Probably not, nobody had came in here for many years at a time when I was here, but if your worried, I can have Pass look out for us," said Mark. He also explained that he normally did that any time he went to sleep.

"That would make me feel safer," she said.

"I'll do it then. Let's go inside the tent now, I really want to test this out," he said as he pointed at his right hand.

The opened the tent up, went inside, and then closed it behind them. The tent had plenty space for both of them, as that was what they had originally got it for. Inside the tent was also small beds, so they didn't have to worry about a hard floor anymore.

"Amelia, I'm going to use the device first, so don't do anything. I want to see if our connected soul has any affect on it," Mark asked.

"Do it," was all Amelia said in response.

He pressed on the slight protrusion on the ring and he could feel something in their soul. It felt like he was being pulled towards somewhere. He figured this was what the device did to everyone, so he let it pull on their soul. Amelia could feel it as well, but she had expected it, so she didn't jump in surprise.

Their soul, from out of Mark's body, enter the material in the ring on his right hand, and they felt something similar to being teleported, yet slightly different. Their bodies didn't move, while their soul was traveling away. Nothing negative happened though, so they relaxed their soul and let it be dragged to Novus, where they assumed it was going.

Neither of them new what it would be like, but they were looking forward to the adventure. Maybe it would be fun, or it could be cruel. That was left up to them to find out while they were there.

"Why do more and more souls keep appearing in the battleground," Nora asked the other three standing near her.

"How should we know?" Replied Vareez.

"We can't interrupt the tournament once it has started, so we can only watch," Deus said.

"Let's see if we can learn where they are coming from while we watch," Vita smiled happily at something interesting finally happening. All of the participants had been too boring. They all focused on preserving their life too much, she thought.
