Chương 28: Kai Xin will always be her baby
At first, she had dismissed it, thinking that the scars she saw were caused by an accident. However, when the frequency and the amount of the scars increased, she panicked. As a mother, it had nearly killed her when she saw the mental state her daughter was in.
She had begged Kai Xin to tell her the reason. She was unable to do anything if Kai Xin refused to tell her anything.
Kai Xin was stubborn. All the girl said then was that she wanted to change to the Catholic High School, which was an all-girls boarding school an hour away. An Qi Yan had thought that something was seriously amiss.
She had asked her son to ask around more and to check with his sister's friends but he cannot find anything. Kai An told her that Kai Xin might have been bullied at school as she had not been eating with her friends.
The two of them had found it weird at that time. Even though she was clueless, clumsy and somewhat blunt, Kai Xin was popular at school. Besides, even if she was a loser, with Kai An who was the Head Prefect and the captain of the football team at school, who would dare to pick on her?
She was bullied? That was impossible!
As a mother, An Qi Yan wanted to find out everything about her daughter. However, Kai Xin stopped her before she can talk to anyone at school. That crazy girl actually used her own life to threaten her!
An Qi Yan was about to go to her school when Kai Xin stood in front of her car with a knife against her throat.
Looking at her mother through a set of dead eyes, Kai Xin had said with a teary voice, "You will only make it worst."
Left without any options, An Qi Yan relented and allowed her to transfer. It was either this or risk losing her.
It was hard at first. Kai Xin had never left her side before and An Qi Yan was constantly worried about her. For the first few months, An Qi Yan had to travel to see her daughter. Kai Xin kept making excuses to avoid coming home.
When Kai An entered college a year later and moved out of the house, she sold off the house at City A and moved to Imperial City, where the school was, and they have been staying in the same city ever since then.
An Qi Yan watched her daughter who was sleeping soundly on the bed. She smiled gently as she carefully tucked Kai Xin's hand back under the cover. In her mind, Kai Xin will always be her baby.
She had noticed some positive changes in her daughter ever since she started working for Layla. She no longer jumped at every sound and she started to sleep better. The night terror had also reduced considerably and she also smiled more frequently now.
"Maybe he can get her to tell the story," She muttered to herself, before closing the door, leaving it ajar so that some lights can get in.
