Mo Shan clenched her right fist…
Both Lu and the president could only be brother and sister.
Lu slowly got up from the ground, as she staggered for a bit. Her face was pale, while her eyes were expressing the gratitude of surviving an apocalypse.
Mo's call was loud enough to reach everyone, including the entire committee outside. The shout of defining Lu's identity was earth-shaking as it sounded. The executives were in a large-eyed bewilderment.
There was clearly something fishy between Secretary Lu and President Huo, but it turned out that they were brother and sister?!
No wonder the president was this mad and claimed the intimate association with Secretary Lu. Well, in fact she was.
Huo Yunting's fancy eyes shone briefly with a menacing rage, as he formed a laid-back sneer. "Who are you to lecture me?" Huo Yunting said as he glanced at Mo Shan.
"I…" The next syllable froze by her lips. She was surprised by the harsh and tyrannical words of the president.
She, even as a fiance, had no rights to lecture him, let alone Lu? How could Lu lecture the man then?
The president stood by the door of the meeting room, as the chilly charm wafted through the silence. "It's none of your business," he snorted and kicked the door closed, storming away from the scene.
It was an embarrassment for Mo Shan, yet she was unmoved, only walking back to the secretary. She surveyed her with concerns in her eyes, "Were you hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital? Geez, you have a hot-tempered brother, how dare he knock you down!"
"Thanks but…" Lu shook her head, "I'm fine, yeah, fine."
He might be a hot-tempered "brother", but she had pretty much gotten use to his temper.
The drama had come to a closure, but there was something that still bothered her. She was fairly sure that the price was stated to be 300 million on the contract, and obviously, unless it was a contract to a mini Disneyland, no random project would go for this much.
Something was going on, and she had to know.
"Are you sure you don't have to go to hospital? Not even a checkup?"
Mo Shan, on her way escorting her wounded "sister-in-law" to her office, had never stopped showing her concern.
"I'm fine, really. It's just a fall. It has already been quite a day and I still have a lot to do. If you would excuse me…"
Lu had no mood to have a sisters' talk with Mo Shan. She gave a courteous nod and turned to her office.
Mo Shan, staring at the straight, forceful silhouette of the secretary entering the office while acting nothing like the fallen girl before, took a deep breath, "I probably had underestimated her existence in the heart of the president." She took a final look at the secretary getting herself seated. Her dark high heels made a skip as she departed.
Lu started rearranging the contract the moment she got back to her desk, ignoring the gossips around her.
"I can't believe it!"
"I know… the President and Secretary Lu are brother and sister, this is just astonishing!"
"Right? Can't believe she kept such a secret from us."
"And I thought they were just bedding partn-"
"Shh! That's too loud! Anyway, no wonder they were so close to each other."
"Yeah, only if my brother is a president of a corporation too."
"Hey… shh… I guess… Lu didn't hear a thing from us… right?"
"She seems fine! Maybe… though…"
During the vigorous discussion, Yu Man'er sent Lu glances from time to time while cold sweat helplessly streamed her body.
Brother and sister?
You sure?
But I saw them at the lavatory that day and they were…
If my news was right… the father of the president had a new wife, could Lu be his daughter then?
If that's the case!
Yu could not help but gasp, as she quickly covered her opened mouth in shock.
They were brother and sister, *nominally* brother and sister.
Such juicy gossip…
Only if I never knew this…
Man…I could no longer look at their interactions the way I used to.
I need to keep this away from everyone…or else…
Yu Man'er could not imagine what could possibly happen if she let the cat out of the bag.
