Hunter helped the men with the lighting as Dino tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, have you thought of a gift for Luna?"
"No, not yet, but just celebrating it with her is more than enough. I think when the time is right, I will get her something." Hunter answered Dino.
Dino grabbed Hunter and pulled him aside. "Hunter, you are coming with me."
Hunter went to protest as Levi summoned himself, and followed them. Levi shook his head at Hunter, "Just get moving," Levi helped Dino as Hunter struggled.
"Wait, how are you—don't tell me!"
Dino and Levi threw Hunter in front of them. Hunter looked up at both of them. "Hunter, you need to get her something if you're going to make your move on her?" Dino started.
"Yes, I know you might not show it, but you do love her and getting her a gift now would only help you step up to the next stage of your relationship. So, you—" Levi was stopped by Hunter throwing his hand up as to stop them.
"Hold on, you think I like Luna? By the—look she only likes me because I look like Lovell. Nothing more, and I like someone else. Not Luna. Got it?" Hunter explained to them. "Besides, giving her a gift as a sign of affection? I would rather do that at her wedding as a wedding gift. I see her as a sister or sister in law? However, you want to put it. I cannot be that constant reminder of Lovell and their love. You should know this, Levi?" They looked at each other and felt a little guilty. "See, awkward is not?"
Dino sat down as he scratched his chin. "Sorry, it is just the way you two act around each other looks like loved each other."
Levi nodded before turning into his lion form. "Me too, and I can feel you when like someone. I guess it was whoever you were thinking about."
Hunter pressed his temple before looking at them. "Look, the person I like is Scarlett, she is one of the Ren-Ky's. When I first met her, I fell head over heels for her. Yet, at the time, didn't know this." Levi looked at Hunter as he spoke. "Yes, Levi, Scarlett De Rosier. That Scarlett."
Dino dropped his mouth, "Wait, the daughter of a noble family, form Gold Heart? Dude, you have no chance with her!"
Hunter shook his head at him, "Let's…let's just get back to finishing the party before nightfall. Okay?" Hunter walked off.
Leaving Levi and Dino to watch him walk away. "Do you think he hates us?"
"No, I think he is more annoyed by the fact we jumped to the wrong conclusion?" Levi explained to Dino.
Luna walked over to them. 'Hey, what's got Hunter all in a small huff?" Levi and Dino's face went stiff as she figured out what happened, "You asked him what to get me, and he told you about how are relationships is?"
"Yes." They both said it together.
Luna chuckled at them, "Well, it is true. Every time I think about Lovell, I am staring at Hunter. The way they look and care about me is almost identical yet different. Lovell wanted to protect me form himself, and Hunter will jump in front of any attack to save me with his body. And I am not expecting anything from Hunter than to be by my side until he is ready to let me go. I think I see him more as an overprotective brother than anything else."
Dino sighed as he turned to Levi, "Well, okay, then we will leave him alone."
Luna smiled as she walked away, "I hope the party is going to be fun. See until then."
Levi looked at Dino, "I am going to go talk tp Hunter, you going to help with the last details?"
Dino nodded, "Yeah, I am going to make sure this is a birthday party that she will never forget!"
The sound of kitten cried caught there attention as Hunter came walking back. "Hey, Dino, some of the men were wondering—What is going on?"
Dino turned to Hunter, "What do you mean?"
Hunter pointed behind them, "That thing, is not a Snowleapard cub form the far north? Why do you have one?"
Dino and Levi froze as they turned around, "What in the world! Where did this cub come from?!" Dino picked the cub up, "It looks way too young to have left its mother?"
Hunter stood in shock as he realized where it might have come from. "Dino, where was your camp during the winter?"
Dino looked at Hunter and then at the cub. His eyes bulging, "No way, so how has it survived this long? It's not—" Dino remember something one of his men had said. "Oh, my word. This is our little thief." HE lifted the cub and stared at it. "Um, Hunter, what should I do with this thing? I have no way of taking care of it."
Hunter stared at the cub, "I have no idea?"
"Hey, how are the preparations?" Digon entered the flame of horror on their faces. "Wait, isn't that a moon snow leopard? They're hard to find? Where did you—"
"It found us." Dino cut him off.
"Wait, the cat that supposedly represents the goddess of life's beast. Is it just sitting right in your lap? Now that's a convenience for you."
Hunter slowly turned to Digon, "Wait, this is a MOON SNOW LEOPARD!"
Digon nodded as he walked over and pointed at its forehead, "Yes, see it has crescent-shaped patterning on its head, shoulders and rump." Hunter stared at the cub seeing the marks. "Now people say the marks determine what moon phase Larin was when it was born, but that's not all. There is a legend with these guys."
Hunter stares as the cub, "What is the legend?"
Digon cleared his throat, "Well, the legend goes where a woman had owned one of these cubs, but it never grew. Men kept asking her for the cub, and she said no to every one of them as they wanted to use it as a battle mount. One day a young man came to her door, wounded, and the cub sat at his side, knowing the woman would see him. Just as the cub thought the woman came looking for it. The woman treated the young man and said if he had a friend as loyal to the cub, he would treasure it. The woman asked if he would that the cub from her. HE said no as it was her friend and family."
Digon closed his eyes, "Is that it?" Hunter asked.
Digon smiled. "No, the cub pawed at the man's hand as if to say take me with you. The man looked at the woman, confused as she nodded as hi. You may take him. I have been looking after this little one for years now. I believe he was waiting for you to come to find him. The young man named the cub, Shaman. As it had saved his life. The cub glowed and turned into an adult ready to aid him."
Hunter touched the cub's head, promoting it to purr. He felt as if it was asking him to hand her over to Luna. "I think this cub knew where to go and who to find. I think I know who this little one wants to go to?"
Digon stared at Hunter and Dino's expression, "Who?"
Dino grinned, "You shall see soon enough. Let us get dressed as this legend has taken us to dusk."
Hunter nodded as he took the cub and walked off with Dino. Digon watched them confused about the matter followed them. Luna was dancing as the party started without them. Hunter smiled as he gestured to Luna. He nodded as he went over to make an announcement.
"Okay everyone, I know you are all having fun but tonight is a night of celebration. Where we celebrate our eventual victory against Demora and the celebration of life itself! AS it is Luna's birthday and I know, she was not expecting any gifts, but one followed both my men and me from the far north. Which, in turn, has been our little meat thief." Hunter walked over to Luna as he tapped her on the shoulder. Luna turned around to see the cub in his arms, "This little Moon Snow Leopard, Hunter and I both agreed, mind you silently after hearing about a legend about this little one. We both thought it was meant to be with you as your friend and your protector."
Luna smiled as tears flowed down her face. The little cub pawed at her face before she could even grab it. She took the cub form, Hunter. "Thank you, both of you. Thank you for this."
Hunter smiled at her. "What will you name her?"
Luna turned to the cub, who was purring her little head off. "Crescent, as her marking look like little crescent moons." The cub wriggled form Luna 's arms. Luan reached out to the cub. "Wait, Crescent why are you—"
Before Luna finched her sentence, Crescent glowed and grow in size. The now full-grown cat lifted its head toward Luna. Purring as it was in her arms. Hunter smiled as Dino and Digon's mouths gaped open. Luna stood stunned as she looked at Hunter. "I think Digon can tell you the legend, as this is part of it."
Digon could not take his eyes off the cat. While Luna took Crescent and hugged her. "Thank you, Hunter, for everything. I hope that she and I stay close friends for years to come."
