Chương 115: Mray 13th - Shadow
Wolf sighed as he cleaned his mask, "Shadow, how do you think this meeting is going to fair?"
Shadow looked out the window, "No idea, either Logan orders for your arrest and we leave within seconds of entering the throne room, or he hears you out? Either way, the only variable we have is that Eledon is not here and will not be back for some time as he is in Inroar speaking with Alaric about joint military training. As to prepare for the day everything falls into place."
Wolf took a deep breath, "Well then let not keep King Logan waiting." Wolf put his mask on, "Did you send the letter yesterday as I asked?" Shadow nodded, "Good, then he should be expecting us."
Wolf stood up as Shadow walked over, "Be careful, if they start to figure out who you are, Logan will blow the whole plan out the window." Wolf nodded as Shadow slipped into his shadow.
Wolf headed to the castle, sifting through the shadows as he made his way to the throne room. Logan waited as Wolf entered from his right.
Logan turned to see Wolf standing in the room, "So, you're the one who cursed Eledon, as well as saved his life?"
Wolf nodded, "Yes, and if you had read my letter you will know why I am here, your majesty." He bowed at Logan before raising back up, to meet his gaze.
Logan stared at Wolf, trying to figure him out, "Tell me why I should listen to someone I do not know, yet knows much about me?"
Wolf stepped forward, squaring his body to Logan's, "With, do respect, my intentions are to benefit everyone. I saved Eledon to spite the Faremin, but I also need to get Scarlett De Rosier and Lance Pendragon to Gregson. He was to give them the necessary tools to better themselves as the Ren-Ky's of Freedom and Kindness."
Logan leaned back in his throne, and closed his eyes, "I see, yet you letter also stated you have tragic new you wish deliver personally?"
Wolf lowered his head, "Yes, on Mray the eighth Vahalin was attack by the Faremin forces, all but Scarlett, Lance, and Gregson's granddaughter, had perished. I ask of you to send men to give them a proper burial. Even I—a man who cause the deaths of those men and women—wish for them to be respectfully buried by their fellow citizens, not by an outsider."
Logan shifted in his seat as he stared at Wolf, he clenched his hand tightly before relaxing. "I see, you are an honorable man. Many of my citizens would have me kill you but if what my men have gathered. You would have disappeared as if you were never there." He leaned forward, "However, your actions had caused the loss of over a hundred men, women and children. Yet, you are here not just because of you needing me to wait for your plan to finish, but to also forgiveness you for what you had caused?"
Wolf bowed, "Yes, your majesty, that is correct."
Logan stood up and walked closer to Wolf. He reached for his mask, but Wolf moved back holding his mask close tight to his face. "I see, you also have reasons as to not show your face. Why is that?"
"Forgive me but I just don't trust you will be able keep my secret like Eledon. As he knows my real identity." Wolf lowered his hand from his face. "But I a sure you, I will tell you who I am in due time."
Logan raised his brow. "My I ask a question, Black Wolf?"
"Wolf is fine, your majesty," Wolf bowed once more before meeting Logan's gaze. "What is your question?"
Logan stared at Wolf, long and hard, "Its more like two, one being do I know you and the other what are your plans with the Ren-Ky's?"
Wolf snickered softly, "Yes, you knew me, and my plan is to get them stronger as individuals then as a team. I am actually looking forward to a good fight with Azoth. As he is the key to who I am."
Logan tilted his head, "Oh? How does this play out for you?"
Wolf place a finger over where his mouth is, "That is for me to know and you to wait and listen. Now I must be going. I need to take care of other matters before Junra eighteenth."
Logan did not ask as Wolf stepped into the shadows, as a gurd entered the room. "Sire, has—"
"Yes, gather some strong men and women we are heading to Vahalin."
The guard stared at Logan in confusion, "Sir, what reason do we have there, the village is isolated and—"
Logan stared at the man, "We are going to bury the dead. Vahalin was hit a few days ago. Black Wolf told me what happened and that only survived. They are now in the Kingdom of Groma, I suspect."
The guard stood in attention, "Sir, I will go and gather them immediately."
Logan watched as the man hurried off. He then turned to his throne, "Just who are you Wolf, and why go through all this trouble?" He closed his eyes, "What is your end game in all of this?"
Marie walked in, "King Logan, what seems to be troubling you?"
Logan glanced over at her, "This Black Wolf fella, he is some one who is tricky to understand and yet so secretive. As to where you have no idea if he is a friend? Or weather he is a foe?"
Marie walked up beside him, "I know what you mean, it he who asked King Orville to send me here and start inter kingdom relations. All I know is that he feels familiar and yet not at all at the same time."
Logan closed his eyes, "Yes, I felt the same when I met him. It is like an itch that you cannot scratch." He turned to face Marie, "Tell me, who do you think he might be?"
Marie started to give it thought, "hmm, I don't know but it has to be someone we both know? Yet who do we both know someone who isn't a Ren-Ky?"
Logan nodded at her conclusion. "Yes, that is the golden question."
