My phone was on the table on speaker, as Jamie requested. "So, we missed the funeral." Bill sighed. "Great."
"I mean, Naomi's body wasn't even there. She turned into dust, remember?" The reception from the school wasn't the best. For all they could afford, reliable cell service was not on there. "Well, I've gotta go, Chasan and I have to discuss something." There were three beeps, and my phone turned off. "Perfect," Bill leaned back in his chair, "I missed it." I looked at him. It was, hard to believe that I actually did it. Only took one semester, two near-death fights, and a tournament that could've ended with both of us scarred mentally and physically, but I did it. "So," I grabbed Bill's hand under the table, "Why did you say yes?"
"What?"
"Why did-"
"No, I heard that, why do you ask." He adjusted his tie, and cursed his decision of wearing a suit. "Oh, I dunno. I guess I just wanted to know."
"Well, it's pretty simple. I knew you liked me, so I decided, eh why not. Not to mention, knowing you liked me, may or may not have lead me to having somewhat similar feelings." I didn't really know how to reply. "I know, it sounds pretty basic," He tapped his fingers on the table, "But it's the truth."
The waiter eventually came, and gave us our food. "Dude," I looked at his plate, "did you really order chicken tenders?"
"It's the safe choice if you're somewhere you don't know." I laughed a little. "What?"
"I'm not making fun of you. I just, never thought of anything like that."
"Sure. So, this is what you wanted to do, but, when we're done here, there's something I wanna do." His voice had that tone to it he always gets whenever he's about to fight. "Let me guess," I sighed, "You wanna fight, don't you?"
"How'd you know?"
"It's like, your one unique thing. You're basically a Saiyan." He sighed, "I still have no idea what that means."
"Well, I'll say, it's not an insult."
We walked in the dorm room. "So," Jamie ran over to me, "How'd it go?"
"Pretty well," I looked over to Bill and Akumura's room, the door was already shut, "We're gonna fight after this, so there's that."
"Wait, what? Did something happen between you two?"
"Oh! No," I shook my head, "I wanted to eat, and he wanted to spar, so, we're doing both." Jamie sighed, "We've been here for almost 5 months and he's still like that." I shrugged, "I gotta get ready for the, second part of our date."
Bill stood around 30 feet away from me. "You sure you want to do this?" I asked. He nodded, "Oh yeah." He stood at the ready, his wings spread behind him. "Alright! Don't say I didn't warn you." I pressed the small button on my scythe.
I shot toward him, but he managed to take to the sky right before I reached him. "So, you're gonna play like that?" I focused all my energy to my legs, and jumped to where he was, hitting him in the arm with the staff of my scythe. "Shi-" His sword fell to the ground, and he shot himself back down. "Alright, we're gonna play like that." The handle of his sword grew, and the blade began curving. "Let's go." He jumped toward me, and slammed my chest with blunt side of his blade. I regained my balance and wiped the blood from my mouth. He came at me again, but this time I blocked the blow, and hit him with my staff again.
He flew backward, hitting his back on the building. "Oh god! Are you okay?" I ran toward him, but right when I reached him, he smiled, and kicked my leg. "You asshat!" I got up, and slapped him across the face. "Alright, I yield." His scythe returned to a sword, and he held his hands up. "Drop the sword." His sword fell to the ground, "Now get your wings back under your jacket." His wings folded and disappeared from sight. "Now, what do you do?"
"I refuse." He jumped, and landed behind me. "Oh you-" A force sent me flying right where Bill was. "Now I yield." I stood up, and retracted my scythe into it's smaller form. "Well," I laughed, "That certainly was better than the last time I fought with you."
"With as in along side or with as in against?"
"Both. While Dracula controlled me, I saw and felt everything that happened. It was probably the same for every other body he's had. I managed to move a small bit, but it was only a twitch, then control was taken away again." He sighed, and sat down. "I mean, at least we got him out of you."
"Yeah, I guess."
Pisces glared at me. "So, you ate dinner, then you fought?" I nodded. "And you wonder why I think you're insane."
"At least I didn't try to take off your other arm to 'make you more balanced'."
"I WAS 11!"
"AND I WAS 12!" I sighed, "Speaking of." I looked at her arm. She grabbed the artificial arm's wrist, "Yeah, it was the last thing dad managed to get before he died. It'll make things easier, but it's still a pain to control sometimes. I've got to use almost all of my psychic power just to properly movie it."
"So it's kinda like me with depth perception."
"I guess, but I need something to move to be able to move it." I nodded, "I see. Well, I guess that makes sense."
Brit's eyes shot open. "WHERE'S JAMIE?"
"Uh, I think she's in the main room, why?" She rushed to open the door, and slammed it behind her. "Any idea what that's about?" Pisces asked. I just shrugged. "Well, as long as it's not another stressful period of time where we're under looming threat of attack, I'm fine with it."
