Chương 4: Icy Prince
Beris City that was known for it's famous weapons, was right in front of them and they were only separated by the gate which stood very high as if reaching the sky.
Ren, Shena and Helen decided to travel to Beris City together, Ren was unable to reject their request especially when he saw their pitiful eyes pleading him.
Over the time they traveled together, although it was only for an hour and a half he found out how and why they came into the forest.
The five of them belongs to the North Star Sect and they are all outer disciples, they decided that they need to temper themselves to prepare for the upcoming tournament. Those who will be able to enter the top 10 at the tournament will immediately be promoted as an inner disciple, so that's why the five of them were very eager to enter the forest.
They heard that the outer region of the forest was relatively safe so they thought that preparing will be too bothersome so they hurriedly went to the forest. Their group consist of two warrior, two elementalist, and a healer, all in all it was a good group composition.
But sadly, they were too weak compared to the Unery Bear which was a Rank 1 Demonic Beast. It possessed a strong body which was covered with it's armor like fur. So obviously, against there poor skills and equipment all it can do was only leave a few scratches on it's body.
Three of them were killed and that only leave them both alive, Helen was one of the elementalist of their team and Shena was the healer. The five of them really had a great relationship with each other so it had cause a big blow to their mentality when they saw their friends get killed one after another.
Ren only listened to them as they told him about their life, it was also great because he didn't know how will he explain to them who he is. He didn't even know why his name on Earth is also the same here.
The mentality of the two girls was already better compared before so they continued to head to Beris City, on their way he asked them about the city and Shena was more than happy to answer all of his questions.
Beris City located at the western border of the Misty Forest, was the most known city among the Fugran Empire. Most of the residents in the city are blacksmith and the main source of their income is by selling weapons. Many genius blacksmith had emerge from this city and become renown master blacksmiths.
Ren was planning to stay here for sometime and then continue to adventure this strange world. He had long ago separated form the two girls, he walked in a concealed alley and out of nowhere a black robe appeared. Immediately, he put on the black robe, it's hood covered his head which help in concealing his appearance.
Using the navigation function of the system, he was like a fish in a water, strolling inside the city like the back of his hand. Quickly, he arrived in front of large building, hanging on top of it was a large signage, and written clearly on bright red color - Beris' Library.
Before he roam this unknown world, first he must have enough knowledge what is this world and how it works. He also lack the knowledge on the cultivation levels in this world.
He pushed the door open and what greet him was the peaceful environment of the library. Everything was so quiet and it feels like he was the only one here. The sounds of flipping are the only ones that you will hear, even though there are a lot of people inside the library, they are all minding their own business and reading their books quietly.
As he entered the library no one bothered to look at the door, it seems like they are already used to this kind of situation. But there is one who is looking at him, and on his face the expected curiosity did not appear, instead a shock expression was written all over his face.
Ren just thought that it must be because of the robe he is wearing, the black robe in which the system had given him was definitely not an ordinary one. Although he have no idea how fashion works in this world he can vaguely guess that this robe is not an ordinary one based on the librarian's reaction.
Seeing him, the librarian was very shocked to see him a black robe, no, it was because he was wearing a black robe that he was shocked. Others might not know about that black robe but who is he? He was the librarian in this city for a couple of years already and with the accumulated knowledge he has it will be impossible not to know what that black robe is.
Darma Robe, a special kind of robe that represents the highest authority in Fugran Empire which is only second to the King. Only a handful of people has this robe and all of them with no exception are members of the royal family.
But in front of him, someone was wearing a Darma Robe, and he knows that it was clearly not a fake one because the real Darma Robes releases a chilling aura. It was because the materials used to make this robes are from the Black Dragon's skin.
A Black Dragon, from of the most strongest races the Dragons, lives in the Nightmare Realm. It has a very huge body and has immeasurable strength, it breathes black flames which scorched everything it touched. It was one of the dragons that has no wings but because of that, it was one of the most terrifying creatures on land.
Fighting a Black Dragon is not easy especially if you need to kill it, but finding one proves to be more difficult as it can only be seen in the nightmare realm rarely.
The Darma Robes represents that that person is either highly talented or is very close to the King. And based on the appearance of the young boy in front of him, he appears to be not older that 12 and this means that he is either talented or very close to the King.
The latter one made sense because he was very young, but if it turns out to be first one, then how much talent does he have to move the king?
So he smiled and he treated the boy politely.
"Young master how can I help you?" the librarian bowed before the him, and all of his fat flesh trembled as he did. He was unable to bend any further because of his big belly.
'Young master? What's happening here?' not knowing what was going on around him, his face frowned in confusion.
When the fat librarian saw hi facial expression, he got the wrong idea and thought that he was discontent with his greetings.
"Young master how may be of service to you?" he repeated what he said earlier but this time he did not just bow, he knelt down on one knee while he lowered his head facing the ground.
The people reading books inside the library was attracted to the commotion at the door of the library, they were dumbfounded to see the fatty librarian was kneeling in front of a young boy wearing black robe.
At the same time, Ren was also looking at the guy in front of him like he was an idiot. He has only been here for not longer than 2 minutes but how come did this happened. And what was exactly happening here?
The people around him are all starting to talk about him. Even though they knew that he can hear all of them talk, they still talk to each other as if Ren was deaf.
It is because Ren is at the 1-star Pemptus rank which have improved his hearing and sight, but others didn't know about this so they were all confidently talking to each other.
"Do you know who that boy is?"
"I can't tell, his face is covered with that black robed of his"
"Black Robe? How come do I think that it is familiar?"
"Holy sh*t! That's no ordinary black robe, it's a Darma Robe!"
"Woah, are you sure?"
Darma Robe or the black robe Ren is wearing represents the highest rank in the Fugran Empire just below the King. Those who wear this robe are all members of the royal family and this robe was not easy to copy.
It is made from the black dragon's skin, which lived on the Nightmare Realm, one of the great five realms. The Mortal Realm, Nightmare Realm, Nether Realm, Elemental Realm, and Divine Realm.
And so, the people inside the library who are still talking about him earlier are now kneeling down in front of him making the atmosphere inside the library to become more awkward.
It was unknown to him why but Ren suddenly have an idea of imitating one of the characters in the movie he watched way back on earth - The Dark Prince.
(TL: Don't ask me why he's watching that kind of movie o.o )
The main character of the movie was a prince, who was very cold to others no matter who they were. Because of this, Ren had an urge to copy those prideful nobles he only saw in the movies.
"Arise, I'm just here to read some books so don't mind me." his voiced was cold, very cold and the people around him could even feel that the atmosphere is getting colder so they stood up immediately and gave way to Ren.
'Success' he shouted in hi mind as he walked out of the crowd and to the bookshelves in a fast pace.
Luckily, he was able to imitate the dark prince which is really a surprise to him. If he knew that he was this good at acting he would have not needed to work hard only to end up falling.
What happen had already happened, he can do nothing to change the past so he will just do his best in this world. And right now, he has a very important job to do, which is to read as much as many books as he can.
Oblivious to Ren he was now the topic of the young girls in the city. Because of the news that a young boy wearing Darma Robe in inside the library reading books.
The news quickly spread given that almost all of the citizens in the city are quite a talker. So in less than a minute or so the story how cold and indifferent Ren was known by everyone. They even added some stories like a girl fell in love with him with just one glance and he subdued the tyrant librarian who was the terror of all bookworms.
And some even more exaggerating things like single handedly defeating three thugs trying to molest a fair young lady and so on.
Because of the misunderstanding in the library, Ren was nicknamed as the "Icy Prince" because of his legendary cold treatment to others despite of who they are.
