A new weapon, what? Those words instantly appeared in his Reece's head. Reece couldn't help but look at Reed with more curiosity. He was getting becoming even more mysterious to Reece than he already was before. Reece didn't reject Reed as there was no harm in comparing blueprints. He wasn't expecting much but at the same time he was.
Reed's growth has always amazed Reece, as it made Reece believed that Reed was capable of doing anything. He didn't want to slight Reed as Reece then agreed to what Reed wanted. Seeing that his father agreed to his idea, Reed then went to his room and came back with a stack of papers.
In Reed's past life, Reed was taught many things while he grew up at the assassin organization. One of them was how being a gunsmith. Reed learned everything a gunsmith should learn, and so he used what he learned to make the weapon blueprint that was going to be given to his dad to look at.
Reece took the blueprints from Reed and looked at it. His eyes widened in shock. The blueprint in his hand looked like a piece of art as the end result looked really clean to the eye. The steps to make it wasn't difficult as he had the technology to make it. And the materials required to make it were as common as they can be.
There were even notes on the sides with the estimate statistics of the gun, such as precision, clip side, bullet velocity and ect. Reece immediately could tell that if they were able to build this gun using this blueprint. It would definitely be better than the current they are using by a lot. But since it was only a blueprint and hadn't been tested, Reece couldn't be too hopeful.
"Did you make this?" Reece asked Reed as it was really far fetched to believe to make this. Seeing that his dad was such a question Reed knew that his dad didn't really believe that he actually made the blueprint. Reed didn't feel offended by any means, as he too, wouldn't believe a seven year old child making such a sophisticated blueprint either.
Reed then came up with an excuse that sounded reasonable that his dad would believe. " I didn't make this blueprint, the one who made this was my master."
Reece was confused. Master? Reece assigned teachers to privately teach Reed, but he knew that none of them were capable of teaching him how to draw up weapon blueprints. So where could he have found such a master.
"Who is this master of yours? Where did you meet him?" Reece questioned Reed as he wanted to know the mysterious individual that taught his son.
" I don't actually know his name as he never told me. But I have always met him in the garden for the past three years. There he taught me many things such as creating weapons, training regiments and martial arts. Sadly, last week was the last time he would teach me as he told me that he had to leave for business. The only thing I never told you as he told me to keep it a secret but now I had to, I hope dad could forgive me"
" It's fine as he never harmed you in any way and that you did learn a lot from him. Sadly I can't thank for teaching my son." Reece smiled and patted Reed's shoulder to assure that he wasn't mad at all. While he was happy for his son meeting such a teacher he couldn't help but try to guess who would help him.
He knew that in the world he lived in, there were many secret organizations that were very advanced in weaponry. But those organizations have always been the backbones of a country, so why would a person from such an organization teach his son.
Reece thought until he was able to think of one organization that would do such a thing. "Was it them? If it was them, why would they be interested in my son?" Reece questioned himself but he soon pushed it to the back of his mind as he knew what was important at the moment. Reece didn't want to question Reed anymore as he took his phone out and called someone.
It took a few moments before the person on the other side accepted the call.
"Director Aniston, what would make you call this employee of yours so late at night?" The man on the other side asked. The man on the other side was the 38 year old Zolo Vix, He was the weapon smith in charge of creating weapon blueprints and upgrading weapons. He was one of the most talented weapon smith the country has raised and the Aniston Family was very lucky to hire him.
Even though he was so talented and was known as one of the most talented weapon smith, he didn't let it to his and become arrogant but instead kept to a modest personality which was something you rarely see.
"Zolo, I need to ask you to look at some blueprints I'll be sending you through a private line to your email in a second here. I know that you're still at the R&D building as you technically made it your second home, so I would like you to inspect it and see if there are anything wrong with it." Reece said to Zolo.
Zolo was stuck on his research so Reece calling him to do something was good to him as he needed something to distract him. So he immediately complied to his request "Of course I'll do it since I hit a block on my research, I might as well." Zolo replied.
A minute passed as Reece sent a copied digital version of Reed's blueprint and sent it to Zolo to look at. "Did you get it?" Reece asked Zolo for confirmation, but what instead answered him was silence instead. "Zolo," Reece called out to him again.
He was then answered back with a yell of joy from Zolo, "THIS IS A BREAKTHROUGH I HAVE ALWAYS NEEDED!" Hearing the yell of joy coming from Zolo, Reece knew that the blueprint his son has given was going to work.
"What are your opinions of the blueprint I sent you?" Reece couldn't help but ask.
Zolo was really enthusiastic as he answered back " The precision of the person while he drew the blueprint was impeccable, the note's he or she made, I can't even find a single fault to it. If this blueprint ends up as how the notes said, we would be able to push or weapon crafting by a decade or even more so. The person who made this, is a genius."
Zolo couldn't stop himself from complimenting the blueprint and the person who made it. "Director can you tell me who made this blueprint and can you introduce him to me if you can?" Zolo asked enthusiastically to Reece.
"The person who made the blueprint was my sons master which was given to my son who in the end gave it to me to see if it was better than out current which clearly is superior from what I can tell by hearing you.
And I can't introduce him to you as I never saw the man myself, plus my son told me that his master left last week due to important businesses." Reece replied back to Zolo.
"Oh what a pity, It would've been great if I could've met the your sons master in person as I'm pretty sure I would learn a lot from him. But a shame he left a week ago and that you have no way to contact him yourself." Zolo said sadly.
"So Zolo tell me, how much would we profit if we were to craft this weapon and sell it? Reece asked Zolo.
"I'm no business man, but I'm pretty sure we would be able to profit tens of millions dollars, maybe even billions if we were to mass produce this weapons. As the materials used to craft this gun is rather common so the cost to craft one will be cheap. We can definitely expect a high income" Zolo replied back.
Hearing the estimates from Zolo, Reece couldn't but jump in joy, disregarding his son that was next to him. "Billions of dollars, Billions of freaking dollars! With this money, we could easily topple the great families" Reece thought to himself gleefully.
But what Reed soon said immediately calmed him down. "Dad it would be best to only make weaker variants of the weapon from the blueprint as coming out with such an advancement will surely catch the eyes of a lot of people and cause us trouble. So it would be best to sell cheaper variants to the market while we keep the high end weaponry to ourselves and supply it to our personal force."
Reece was really happy before as he couldn't believe the amount of money he would've been able to make and didn't think of anything else. Listening to his son was like a bucket of water pouring over his head and calming him down.
"Your right," Reece immediately agreed to Reed and then asked Zolo who was still on the phone.
"Zolo, can you make weaker version of the gun to sell on the market without catching the attention of other people. Selling such a high end weapon is too noticeable to sell on the market."
"I definitely agree with you director, selling such a high end weapon out of nowhere will surely grab the attention of others. But luckily, I definitely can create weaker weapons from the blueprint, I just need to switch some parts out and it'll definitely be fine to sell on the market without causing a commotion." Zolo replied back.
"Good, then I will leave you to it. Reece said but before he could end the call Zolo spoke up
"Director, such a piece of art needs a name, I'm not the person who created so I don't have the right to do so. Since your son is the disciple of the master who he get the blueprint from, he should be the one who names it."
Reece looked to his son. Reed has always been listening to the conversation between his dad and Zolo so he knew what he was being asked for and immediately answered back loud enough for Zolo to hear as well.
"It should be called "The Reaper."
"The Reaper huh, what a name fitting for such a masterpiece. Alright then I'll start working immediately, good bye director," Zolo said and immediately before Reece was able to say bye back.
"I haven't heard him so happy in a long time, I just hope he doesn't over exhaust himself and ends up passing out in the middle of work" Reece said speaking to himself. He then turned to look at Reed and said
"Thank you Reed, without you, It probably would've taken a few more years to develop a better gun. But with your help, It didn't take as much as 2 years to finally develop another one and one that was so high end as well." Reece was definitely proud of his son. He knew with his son one day taking charge of the Aniston Family, it would surely be it's golden age and expand.
"There is no need to thank me dad, as we're family." Reece replied back. Reece felt happy as well seeing his dad was really proud of him. Even though Reed was an adult at the mental age, he still felt happy helping his family out.
"Yes we are family, but I still need to thank you in the end, I wouldn't feel happy if you don't accept my thanks "
"Then I accept it." Reece knew his dad wouldn't feel good if he didn't accept his thanks even though they were family, so he did. His dad was a kind and respectable man, he would always pay back in anyway he can. And would always pay back in more than full.
The first step to Reed's plan was now done. It was now time for the second step.
"Hey dad, I have another thing to ask of you."
