Chương 23: The results
The week flew by fast; Michael spent most of the time training and reading news on Tesla Motors. Finally, it was the day of the big reveal. He was watching Elon Musk's presentation live on his desktop. Elon revealed the new Model X and the Tesla Semi.
The Model X was targeting buyers who needed a larger car than the Model S. It was a Hatchback meant for outdoor adventures. The Tesla Semi was perhaps the biggest shocker. Semi-Trucks were responsible for transporting cargo; An Electric Semi was definitely a game changer.
The crowds were going nuts. Well, they were Tesla fans so they were nuts to begin with; however, they were more frenzied than usual. The presentation ended with Elon talking about restructuring Tesla and making all the changes that Michael predicted.
Shortly after the presentation, the articles from various business journals started flooding in.
"Tesla Motors reveals two game-changing electric vehicles that shocked all the critics. They have proven that they will be leaders of the electric car revolution."- Business Insider.
"Tesla Motors have restricted their company getting rid of dead weight. They can finally spread their wings and start flying." - Wall Street Journal.
"Tesla cars suck. I can build better electric cars in my garage." - Reddit
The stock price started climbing like crazy. All of Wall Street was talking about the Company that was going to revolutionize transportation: Tesla Motors. Finally, after two days Tesla stocks hit a high of $180 per share. Michael decided to use his call option and buy; Of course, while everyone else was paying $180 for shares; Michael was only buying at $90 per share.
After two more days, Tesla Motors became the most valuable Automotive company beating General Motors. Michael sold his Tesla Shares at $270 per share; Making a total profit of $30 million. His investment portfolio ballooned from the initial $15 million to $45 million. He had set aside $4 million for private use or he would have made even more.
Michael was ecstatic, he wanted to upgrade the Stock Market skill to Advanced tier as soon as possible. Just the Intermediate tier made him this much money; so how profitable would Advanced Tier be?
Michael continued to look for different stocks to invest in. He encountered Allakos Pharmaceuticals. They were a fairly small company and had been developing a drug to treat a rare skin disease. The drug was being examined by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA); It had passed the first two trial phases with flying colors. There was only Phase three trials left before the drug could be sold in the market.
Since there was no other medicine in the market for the rare disease, the drug would be highly profitable once it passed the trials. Michael decided to invest in the Option to buy $10 million of stock within the next month. He decided to not gamble again and start to diversify his funds to suffer fewer risks in case of failure. Michael searched for other smaller investments and diversified his account.
The FDA report came in five days later. Surprisingly the drug failed the trials; A large number of participants in the clinical trials started showing severe side effects. The drug was sent back to the lab and the company had to basically start from scratch.
Allakos stock tanked after the unexpected disqualification of its only product. Fortunately, Michael had only bought call options so he only lost $600,000. The debacle reminded Michael that he was not a stock market expert yet. The skill still needed to be upgraded twice and his personal experience was sorely lacking.
Michael felt like investing in the stock market was more difficult than fighting battles. The hardest part is the waiting game that happens once he chose to invest in a stock. Fortunately, the constant meditation calmed his nerves. Michael continued to invest while maintaining caution.
Matthew Griffin was having a bad week because his personal investment account was not doing very well. He lost a lot of his money on a hyped up pharmaceutical company. He was going over his current traders when he got to the page on Michael. Matthew was curious about the performance of the arrogant trader over the past two weeks. He noticed Michael was trading Options and smirked. Newcomers always thought that Options was an easy method with high returns; however, Options were very risky.
When Mathew saw Michael progress over the last two weeks, he was flabbergasted. The Tesla affair had been all over the news and many traders had been excited about it. However, only experienced traders were able to accurately predict Tesla's rise; How did this newbie predict Tesla's success. Matthew credited the success to beginners luck; he could not admit that the newbie who started two weeks ago was performing better than him, who had decades of experience.
"Let's see if you will keep getting this lucky." Matthew muttered out loud in his office.
Six Months Later
Over the past months, Michael spent all his time training and investing. He kept investing in Options and had great success. He did not always make money and had some losses because his stock market skill was not fully upgraded yet; However, for a first-time investor, he was creating miracles. Michael's initial $15 million had turned into $270 million. Michael was very happy with his progress. He transferred $70 million to the system and checked his stats.

He was confident that the money would start rolling in now with his 80% guaranteed success rate. Honestly, there was no point in upgrading the skill any further because if he was any more successful he would attract suspicion from very powerful figures in Wall Street. Unfortunately, he would have less time for investing because College would start from tomorrow.

I have to plan out the university arc properly because i dont want it to be boring and just be a bunch of fillers. Initially i had planned a different arc after Vegas but due to power level concerns, that arc has to be pushed back. I will definitely resume posting chapters after a couple of days.
