The two forces were currently unaware that another hand was currently affecting the outcome of their battle from behind the scenes. While Paul thought that his faction may have already started to abandon him, Elrich was thinking that the king had listened to his warning.

No one could blame the duke for not giving the king more doubt because, at the end of the day, he was still part of the Zweifel kingdom. Though he had his own suspicions, Elrich wanted nothing more than peace and prosperity for the kingdom.

The sun had not yet risen when the bloody duke was woken up by one of the commanders serving under him. This was the day that their forces were going to start attacking so he had given them an order to wake him if anything worth mentioning occurred.
