City of Trickery was still intact despite the large scale battle which was still ongoing right now. More than half of the building inside it had turned into ruins and almost every vampires were killed during the fight.
Inside the swarm of Black Vampyr and the opposing flaming lava golems, a group of godkins together with their spirits were in an intense fight against the vampire lord. They were Mays, Ria and the rest of their spirit companions.
Ria was quite far away from the rest of the party. She leapt forward with her hidden class's move speed buff, leaving the others behind.
"Mystic Shock!"
Ria shouted the moment her sword got parried by Kokakola's hand. There was no distress on her face, only a mocking smile. She knew that this attack of her would not connect. In fact, she never intended for that attack to connect.
"Tornado Blaster!"
With her sword and shield tightly gripped, Ria started spinning in front of Kokakola like a top. The tornado was no ordinary tornado for sure. It sent out flying sword intent which mostly landed on Kokakola without fail. Kokakola tried to evade but unable to do so because he was paralyzed by Ria's previous attack, the [Mystic Shock].
Just when the paralyzing effect of [Mystic Shock] ended, Kokakola was once again disabled by another spell. This time, it was [Flame Constraint]. Even Kokakola was shocked when he noticed the flaming pillar which grabbed all his limbs. He observed his surrounding but he couldn't find any hidden magic caster nearby who casted the spell on him. He didn't even heard any chant either.
"Send him here, Ria."
"Okies, here you go. Void Thrust!"
Using the knockback effect from [Void Thrust] skill, Ria successfully sent Kokakola to where Mays intended. Mays knew that Ria wouldn't hold back hence he already stood at ten meters away from Ria. Ten meters was the upper limit of knockback skills in this world, verified and guaranteed by San himself.
The one casting that [Flame Constraint] previously was also Mays. With the effect of Magic Master Trinket, he could cast spell anywhere in his sight for this one minute without the need of verbal chanting.
"Come to papa! Hehehehe, unlimited heavy thrust!!"
Even before Kokakola landed at the specified area predicted by Mays, he already spammed swordsman's knockback skill [Heavy Thrust] nonstop beforehand. His eyes was frenzied totally because he was enjoying the privilege of using skills without limit.
This was all made possible because of Ria. Not everyone kept these useless things in their space belts, not when the space belt actually had limited amount of space. Ria was just one of a kind, the kind of players who waste lots of gold just to expand their space belt.
"Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!"
This time, Kokakola got sent upward toward the dark sky. With the number of stacking [Heavy Thrust] landed on him, he was sent up quite a distance away from the land.
"Now! Unleash everything you got!"
"Homing Arrow!" "Triple Shot!"
"Armor Piercing Bullet!" "Hellfire Burst!" "Flaming Arrow!"
Among all those heavy attacks, Mays's own barrage of attack were the most eye-catching. He wasted no time with the one minute duration drew near, bombarding Kokakola with attacks unique to him alone, his elemental god's anger.
[Thunder god's Anger] and [Fire god's Anger] alternately stroke down toward Kokakola from the voids all over the dark sky. With how weak these vampire against fire and thunder elements were, these elemental attack became the most efficient attack against Kokakola.
Too bad, Mays's magic attack was not as strong as real magic caster's magic. He was after all a hybrid, not a pure magic caster. His build leaned more toward physical damage rather than magic.
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!"
A loud, demonic roar startled everyone present on the battlefield.
The continuous barrage of attack on Kokakola stopped for a few seconds following that threatening roar.
Kokakola was now enshrouded in black smokes, mostly resulted from the bombardment by the range attackers. From within the continuously fading black smokes, a figure was undergoing transformation in a rapid pace.
It didn't take long for the black smokes to dissipate when something big suddenly came out from it. Kokakola was now in its real form, his insane boss's beast form. A huge humanoid monster spanned over ten meters which resembled a bat in metallic black skin with two protruding horns on its head. Its red eyes shone brightly, invoking fear instantaneously upon those with weak wills.
"Finally revealing his real body, he is out of trick for sure."
"Hehe right. Let's end this for real."
Rather than being frightened, both Mays and Ria were anticipating this the most. They knew that the moment Kokakola started fighting in his real form, it meant that the grand finale had just begun.
"Forcing me to use this form, you puny humans deserved death!"
Kokakola's voice was extremely domineering. There were even traces of thunders on the dark sky every time words came out from his mouth. If he couldn't do this much, he wouldn't be qualified to enter the top ten rank of strongest insane bosses.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Chaotic Apocalypse Slash!"
"Maaan, she really hate holding back ain't she."
Using her strongest attack right away, Ria always acted the way she liked. Mays just shook his head as he commented. Even the gigantic Kokakola was thrown away after he took [Chaotic Apocalypse Slash] head on.
Ria stood not too far from where Kokakola landed. The smokes was yet to subside but that didn't mean the fight would also halted. From the depth of the smokes, a huge fist came out targeting Ria who was the closest. More smokes were produced as the fist landed. Nobody saw whether the fist connected or not.
"Heh, that's my girl all right."
On the sides, Mays grinned as he observed the fight. One second later, Ria was seen running over the gigantic arm with her sword slicing it as she moved forward.
"You're not going to hit me that easy, bitch! Seven Star Strike!"
Once again, Ria's attack landed perfectly on Kokakola. He was somewhat slow after he revealed his real form. Maybe because it was big, or maybe because he was not used to fighting in close combat, his movement was totally predictable.
Mays started organizing the spirits behind him to coordinate their attack with Ria. Since their opponents was just a single boss and he commanded just one party instead of an army, there was no need for a great plan or strategy.
"Well then, guys! Show him hell!"
----------------------------------------------
Fifteen minutes of one sided beating left Kokakola on the verge of death. In a direct fight, he was way inferior compared to Zaramoth. The number of flaming lava golems in the area were also decreasing at a steady pace. They could hold out for another fifteen minutes at most. However, that fifteen minutes was more than enough for Mays and the rest to finish off Kokakola for sure.
"Black Blood Festival!"
Rain of black liquid suddenly poured down heavily all around him. The land itself corroded when it came in contact with the black liquid.
"Everyone, retreat five meters away from Kokakola! Ria and Damia, prepare for shield bash after that rain finished."
As always, Mays gave simple command and everyone followed without doubt.
"Now go! Magic caster, flame element attack now! Range attacker, maintain whatever you are doing."
The fight proceeded smoothly without much difficulty. With how geared Mays and the rest of their party were, it would be a given for them to subdue Kokakola without fail. The only unexpected part of this fight was the fact that Kokakola could use the event boss skills which made Mays startled for a bit and slowed down his tempo.
"Show me what else you can do, Kokakola! Sonic Slash!"
"Urgh!"
Blocking Mays's sword slash with his hand, his side and back was clearly open to other attack. Kokakola was totally pushed back by the might of Mays and the rest of his party. One hidden class players was enough to ensure success in insane boss's raid yet now Kokakola needed to face two at the same time.
Kokakola himself knew that his end was near. His every move was countered and his opponent strike where it hurt the most. He just couldn't think of any way to get out of this predicament.
"I WONT DIE WITHOUT TAKING AT LEAST ONE OF YOU WITH ME! ANCIENT HELL CURRUKEEEK!"
Lowering his body to gain some momentum, Mays simultaneously stab Kokakola with his twin blade, interrupting the spell casted while sending him away from Ria. Since Mays perfectly sliced Kokakola's wrist with his attack, he managed to interrupt the skill neatly.
"Thanks Mays."
"Don't sweat it."
Both Mays and Ria was ready to continue their attack.
"Gah! You guys are really persistent."
Kokakoka grumbled.
"Can't be helped. I've been trained to be like that. No hard feeling okay."
Kokakola had a desperate look on his face while Mays and Ria was brimmed with confident. The conclusion of this fight was already clear.
"Flaming Slash!"
Mays leapt forward with his sword both covered in flame. He was sure that even if Kokakola blocked his attack, Ria would easily injure Kokakola with the opening he made. But, not everything always proceed as planned.
Before Mays's attack connects, he was sent flying by an invisible gush of heavy wind. Even Ria who was close by was also affected by that gush and was pushed back several steps away.
It was then when the dark sky suddenly turned bright. A dazzling golden light which illuminates everything suddenly enshrouded the surrounding area. A being which looked beyond majestic flew into the scene accompanied by rumbling thunders all over its path.
Mays knew well what that thing was. Ria also recognized this being right away. It was Immortal Pheonix Shalala, the second strongest insane boss in HeavensTale. Cold sweat started pouring down all over their forehead as they noticed that this godly being which already domineering by its own actually came here with something else.
Flying closely behind Shalala was an enchanting crystal dragon, the most elegant and beautiful dragon in HeavensTale, the Heaven Crystal Dragon, Drasca. This dragon was not something to be looked down upon either. It was ranked as the fifth strongest insane boss. The two of them were way stronger compared to ranked ninth Vampire Lord Kokakola.
"This… this… this ain't a dream right Mays?"
"…"
This very moment, Ria who was always full of herself finally felt fear. Beside her was Mays who was lost in his thought. Mays was now sweating profusely, speechless. His face was pale, totally a rare sight one might say.
"Kokakola, there is something urgent master wants to tell you. Let's get going."
Shalala who flew toward Kokakola talked. In its eyes, the group of Mays and the rest were nothing. They were not even worth its attention.
"Indeed there is. Let us go fast."
Drasca the Heaven Crystal Dragon added.
"Wait a moment! At least help me deal with these humans first before we go!"
Kokakola never had a good relationship with these two. The only reason why these two ever came to his place was because their master ordered them so. But still, he knew that these two were way stronger than he was. With their help, killing these humans would be super easy.
"Tch, weaklings! Scorching Sun Fall!"
Just one casual move from Shalala and a huge flaming miniature sun appeared in the dark sky. It then fell down with a tremendous speed, making it impossible for Mays and Ria to act. It might seemed casual from others point of view but Mays and Ria knew what that skill was. It was Shalala ultimate skills which she could use only once in the whole raid. It was an extremely powerful skill for sure.
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH!!!"
A loud explosion sound echoed throughout the vicinity. Even those far away on Demon Continent could faintly felt the land shook for a few seconds. Everything present at the battlefield were engulfed by the explosion when the miniature sun landed.
"How's that? Can we proceed now?"
Shalala snorted as it led both Kokakola and Drasca away from the scene. The City of Trickery was no more in sight. Only smokes, rubbles and corpses remained at the whole area. That [Scorching Sun Fall] was just too strong. All the flaming lava golem and Black Vampyr were wiped upon contact. Even a level hundred players might not survive that devastating attack.
------------------------------------------------
Demon continent, Stones Dukedom.
Inside a tavern of a rundown village, a group of five people wearing hooded cape were conversing in cheerful tone. They were currently eating dinner while discussing their next course of action. Beside them were two small fairies who made themselves invisible to others.
Taverns in Stones Dukedom often received traveller from the other dukedom hence this group of people were not alienated even though they were not from the lizard kin. Stones Dukedom were governed by Selitis, the leader of these reptilian humanoid.
Through a journey filled with danger, Misaka and her companions travelled through several dukedom with their identity hidden. They were after all, escorting the demon princess who was currently being hunted.
The anti-demon prince faction was hunting her to either kill or capture her while the imperial knight was looking for her under her brother's order. Princess Aiburi had no intention of revealing herself since she herself was not sure who the traitor from their side was.
"Master, we are now inside Stones Dukedom!"
"A little bit more and we will arrive at our destination."
"Em, good."
Both Misaka's spirit were reporting their progress with a smile. After spending weeks on travelling, they finally could see their finish line. They had been attacked several times by horde of demons under Ebulis but they managed to scrape by each time. The strongest enemy they encountered was a gold ranked intermediate boss which was only a formidable opponent to them.
"Only a little bit more, princess."
"Yep Astaga. We can do this. Uncle Selitis will help us for sure."
Astaga and Princess Aiburi were both excited. They would reach their destination soon. Once they arrived, Reptilian King Selitis would definitely cover them and foil the conspiracy plan of those traitorous demon inside the capital.
"Don't forget on what we agreed beforehand. You will give me a copy of Demonic Log of the past ten years when we meet up with Selitis later."
"Yeah I know. Don't worry, Uncle Selitis was the one who keeps those log for the empire. I can make a copy of it easily."
Princess Aiburi smiled as she replied. Misaka didn't help her out for nothing. She didn't know where Misaka heard of that log from but to her it was nothing that important. As long as she could survive, that small price meant nothing to her.
Truth be told, beside her elder brother Demon's Crown Prince Kuribo, she trusted nobody else inside the castle. Most of their minister, their generals or even their servants in the castle might all be in cahoots to overthrow her brother.
She told her brother about this matter once but her brother dismissed her as being too paranoid. The crown prince had his own agenda. He wouldn't mind using these traitorous demon for his personal gain.
Left with no other choice, Princess Aiburi decided to drag both Reptilian King Selitis and Overlord Kacing into the heart of this matter. She knew that with just her alone, her brother would never take it seriously. Only by dragging both Selitis and Kacing to her side would her brother give it a real thought.
Little did this small group of people knew that inside the very same tavern was one of their pursuer, licking his lips in ecstasy as he imagined how he would enjoy himself during the slaughter later on. This person was Death Bringer Kuriza, the ranked sixth strongest in the top ranking. Even Selitis would not be his match if they were to fight.
Kuriza was an eccentric. He was thorough in everything he did. Now that he already set foot here in the Stones Dukedom, he wouldn't be satisfied just by killing off this small group of people. The reason he waited all these time was because his real target were not here yet. Yeah, his real target was Selitis himself.
Not even an hour later, Misaka and her companion all walked out from the tavern. They were chatting merrily without worry considering how they were literally in a friendly territory. Not too far behind them was Kuriza, tailing them from a safe distance.
A short distance away from Stones Dukedom was a group of godkin army numbered hundreds with their spirits. They were the DarkMonarch, led by Black Death Stan himself. Stan was riding his Raging Thunder Horse. Whacko who was beside him was also riding a horse, moving at the same pace as Stan.
"You sure this way is the shortcut?"
"Have I ever been wrong?"
Answering the question with another question, Stan smirked as he looked at Whacko.
"Heh, fine. Nobody could match that brain of yours."
"I know right. Stan was without a doubt the best when it comes to strategy. His win counts against that Red Wargod in simulation war was twice even."
Bean interrupted the conversation from behind. He was riding his Tri-horned Bull right behind Whacko. Truth be told, these people could ride high class mounts such as the rare dragons and countless flood dragons nor wyverns alike if they wanted to. Most of them had at least one high class flying mounts for sure considering how much they spent their money into the game.
"Who does he think he is?"
"I know right. Banning us from riding dragons. What is his intention anyways?"
"Who knows? He is not someone who tell others what he is planning. Just shut up and listen to his order."
As always, the crowd were mostly dissatisfied with Stan. Back when it was still a game, these people were flattering him on daily basis. They even revered him as a miracle worker after he managed to pull out impossible feat one after another.
Now that the game turned into reality, they all changed their view on him. Reality and games were two different things. A good strategy which sacrificed weak pawn for greater goods would never gained approval in this world. Stan's reputation worsen each passing day after most of his strategy were proven had to accomplished.
Even Stan himself already gave up on this bunch of useless fodder. If not because someone like Whacko, Bean and Danny were here, he would already abandon this group of hopeless idiots ages ago. These people couldn't even figure out why he forbid them from riding their dragons. How brainless could they be?
What they were doing right now was a secret mission. The word secret itself revealed the reason why. If they rode something showy like a dragon into a hostile territory, they would totally be stopped even before they entered the territory for sure.
Worst case scenario, the opposing side might even gather several insane bosses together to repel them. That was why he forbid every member of his guild from using aerial mounts and switched to those simple mounts like horses and the like.
