Suddenly, one of the three doors of the room opened, and a lady wearing a long, white robe entered. Mai stared in shock- it looked exactly like her sacrificial offering robes.
"What are you doing here?" The lady looked up-and-down, clear distaste in her eyes.
Mai hesitated. For the other world, she had time to adjust, but she had nothing for this world. So, Mai was didn't know what to say. "Yes?"
The lady rolled her eyes. "Come here!" She grabbed Mai's hand and pulled, leading her out of the stone room that Mai woke up in. Looking back, Mai hoped that she would be able to remember how to get back there.
"I can't believe you've forgotten our morning prayers again, Municia." The lady walked briskly, never turning her head to look back at Mai. "Even if you are new, that's no excuse. Our Lady Vestia requires absolute compliance."
They reached another door. Stopping, the lady let go of Mai's hand, leaving a red handprint behind. She hmphed and looked askance, giving Mai another evil eye. Opening the door, the lady soon went through it, leaving Mai behind.
It went to a balcony where thousands of people stood on the ground below.
The lady saw how Mai stood before the door and walked back to her. Annoyed, she once again latched onto Mai's arm. "Come!"
Mai unwillingly followed, wishing in her heart of hearts for everything to go well. It was completely disorienting.
"Municia!" A stern lady's voice broke Mai's reverie, and she unwillingly looked up.
The lady was also wearing sacrificial robes, however she had her hair covered with a white scarf. Her hair was pulled into a tight bun. She was older than the other ladies in the room by what seemed like ten years.
"Yes?" Mai said. She was careful to keep her tone polite.
"You were late once again. You won't be having dinner. Instead, you'll be doing another round of prayers."
Mai looked down, trying to convey the image of a chastened girl. Seemingly satisfied, the stern-faced woman looked towards the lady that led Mai there.
"Cornelia. You're at fault as well. You'll be joining Municia as well."
When the older lady looked away, Cornelia shot Mai a look of despise.
Oooof. It'll get done tomorrow.
What I need to do:
Seven chapters that are 1500 words
One myth chapter
Regular chapter for tomorrow
So... I'll write three chapters plus the regular chapter (and the myth) tomorrow. And four chapters plus the regular chapter on Sunday. orz
