Long story short...

You can think of it as a Witness Security Program (WITSEC) for royalty where the members are raised under another identity till they are of age as in they can make their debut in the aristocratic society.

Skyrielle being the Intelligent and think for herself; independent young girl that she is has a deep negative view on what her father has planned for her. Spending her days monotonously with incognito visits of her parents and letters from her brother she isn't even allowed to talk as Skye; is hard on her since she has a big fat heart for those she cares about.

So she sets on a journey with young girls living in similar circumstances hoping to get to decide how they live their lives. For they don't want to abandon the one they are when they have to debut in society as its and integral part of what define them.
