Ririna was waiting for the elevator to come up. She pushed her worries aside as she straightened up her posture and passed the folder to Erica who was patiently waiting on her side. They were accompanied by Eli's men; one of them was Ririna's acquaintance when she was still working as a mercenary.
Jerry was a tall man with a huge muscular body. His facial features seemed to be stuck on a scowl forever with thin, hard lips. With his bald head and intimidating eyes, one would surely run away from his presence. Ririna was one of his apprentices when she was younger. He had trained her in survival skills during her younger years before she was sent to the wild forests of the Eastern Provinces. With only a short knife in her hands, she was forced to survive in the wilderness alone for three months.
After three months of leaving her alone, they were surprised to see her living comfortably in the wild. She had managed to tame some ferocious local brown bears and play with them within the forest. She was able to hunt her own food, make an improvised home, and create a tree house from scratch.
A typical ten-year-old girl couldn't possibly do what she had done within three months away from her guardians. When they found her within the deepest part of the forest, she was extracting venom from poisonous snakes. She was holding a big one, and she didn't even seem to care if it coiled its body on one of her arms.
One of his assistants asked her if she wasn't afraid of the venom. Just even one drop of it on her skin would surely kill her within thirty minutes. She only told them not to worry because she had already made an antidote that needed five minutes to counteract the poison in her system if she was ever poisoned. They had no idea how she knew anything about poisons. Who's this girl, anyway?
He knew how Ririna's mind worked during their missions. She had been one of the best and youngest apprentices he had ever trained in his life. It was really a great disappointment when she left Eli's team years ago to live as a normal person. However, Jerry knew that when someone was once a killer, always a killer.
She couldn't possibly evade the enemies she had made for years as an assassin even if she had killed because of their master's orders. Her hands were already tainted with blood. Blood that would never wash away, no matter how hard she tried to get rid of it. The innocent young princess that arrived in their training camp years ago became a bloodthirsty witch who loved to torment her prey.
Whatever made her change from being a witch, he had no idea.
Could a witch change herself into an angel overnight? Nope, it was like assuming a crow's feathers would turn into a snow-white dove's in an instant.
With her skills and intelligence, she could be a great asset to anyone. She had so much potential in their field, and yet she abandoned their world. Now that he had seen her once again, he found her irresistibly beautiful. She might not be the most beautiful, but her angelic face—which hid her vicious nature—and charm couldn't be denied by any man.
He always knew Ririna would be a beautiful woman when she grew up. Even as a young girl, there were already signs that promised that she'd be a great beauty someday. It's just that he didn't expect that the master himself would also fall in love with her and make a claim that she was his woman.
When Ririna was younger, he always wondered why the master picked her up from an orphanage. Why didn't he keep her by his side? Wouldn't it be better if someone like her stayed in instead of spending her childhood years on training to be a killer someday? Of course, no one would ever question their master. It wasn't their business to question his decision, but the young girl's presence within their cruel world kept them wondering.
They were silent while waiting within the elevator. He had sent some of their men outside to find leads about the stalker following Ririna earlier. He hoped that nothing wrong happens today because he wasn't looking forward to receiving their master's wrath if something happened to this woman.
They have reached the 15th floor when suddenly the elevator stopped, and the door opens. Ririna's face became passive, her lips threatening to curl into a smile. A familiar woman was revealed when the door opened, and she wasn't really expecting to see her within the Pavilion Hotel.
"Well, look who's here. The bitch who managed to seduce my own fiancé." Karissa Wang sneered as she joined them in the elevator, punching the button for the 20th floor.
She was wearing a tight black dress underneath her coat, showing her womanly figure well. It also had a high slit on her left side, showing off her smooth slender leg. Compared to her, Ririna was wearing a white half-sleeved business shirt, a black coat, and a modest pencil skirt. Her feet were still aching since last weekend, and so she opted to a pair of flat shoes.
Erica inwardly grinned as she saw Karissa. She always knew that Ririna bore a grudge against this woman, and she wondered how she would act now that Eli wasn't around to protect her. Who would win today between the witch and the bitch?
"Miss Wang, what are you doing here? Meeting with someone else's husband again?"
Ririna replied sarcastically, and Karissa's face paled at her words. With those words, she was implying that the other woman was a homewrecking bitch.
Jerry was also surprised by Ririna's attitude. The Ririna he knew was always polite and proper; she wasn't the one who would curse and say vulgar words. What she had said earlier was so provocative and forward.
"You!!!" Karissa didn't expect a direct hit from the woman who took away Eli's affection. Seeing her guarded by her ex-fiance's men filled her with jealousy.
"Oh, please don't you ever drag me with you. I'm not a whore like you. While you enjoy entrapping multiple men with your body, I only have one man in my life. While you enjoy spreading your legs to every man who shows you their d*ck, I've been busy working to make a living. What about you?"
"How dare you?! Don't you know who I am? I am Karissa Wang. No one can mess with me." Karissa lifted a hand and tried to slap Ririna. What she didn't expect was that Ririna's hand was faster and hit her hard on the face, making her body crash on the nearest wall. She could feel the stinging pain in her right cheek.
"I just did, hunny." Ririna laughed.
"And it's not your damn business to meddle with our affairs." Ririna paused as if she had realized something. "Actually, you do. You've ruined so many relationships. You surely love to mess with taken and married men. It isn't surprising Eli didn't take you to his bed. Who knows what kind of STDs you have?"
Karissa glared back at her. Her eyes were filled with anger and hatred.
"And oh, you're so wrong, hun. It was Eli who seduced me to his bed. Such a pity, isn't it? You haven't experienced how great he is in bed. Hmm? So good, you will probably cry for more," Her eyes were full of mischief. She really enjoyed taunting this woman who tried to kill her and her unborn baby.
Karissa felt she was about to puke blood with Ririna's words. Shameless. Too much arrogance from the witch.
Too bad they have reached the 20th floor, Karissa has to leave. She really wanted some playtime with her. As the elevator door opened on the 20th floor, Karissa slipped out. Her legs slightly wobbled and staggered from the impact she received from Ririna's hand.
"You will pay for this!!!" She said, her face red. Ririna wondered if it's because of her slap or because of Karissa's growing rage against her. No matter what it was, it was satisfying to see her cower under her gaze. Such a woman would never make her fall to her knees.
"Do your worst, darling. Oh, one more thing. I like my man on his back. It gives me a lot of leverage," Ririna said with a grin and mocking eyes.
She was implying to Karissa that she enjoyed being with Eli. Something that Karissa would never have no matter how hard she tried.
