"I have to meet a client down by South Ring Road."
"Oh, I see." Huo Mian hung up and turned her attention back to driving.
Qin Chu didn't leave until he saw she saw her safely drive into South Side Recuperation Center.
He wasn't actually meeting a client. It was Huo Mian's first-day driving, and he was worried. That was all.
Huo Mian was originally worried that she might become the center of gossip for driving a car to work since she was only a nurse. However, her perception changed as soon as she arrived at South Side.
The other nurses were all driving luxury cars – BMWs, Land Rovers, Mercedes-Benz GLKs… Her Volkswagen was shabby compared with the other cars.
Why were the nurses so rich? The answer was obvious – most of the nurses here were young and pretty.
While they took care of the patients, most nurses became mistresses or side pieces. Some even provide 'special services' inside the hospital.
Thank you Cinthia M. for joining us on Patreon (www.patreon.com/noodletowntranslations) to stalk the Qin Chu & Huo Mian love story from a gossipy coworker's perspective, blessing us all 2 month-end bonus chapters! Now, the month-end mass release has increased to 11.5 chaps (don't worry, we will round up at the end, even if its 11.0000001).
Today's just a light dose of one chap since it's the weekend, and don't worry, only two more weekends and then we will be doing 5 chaps/day on weekends too.
Btw, what are your thoughts and preferences on the length of web novels? For me, the longer the better. I just hate farewell parties, same goes for reading novels. Every time I finish a good and long novel, I kinda become depressed awhile. Reading for me is kinda like befriending the main characters and getting invited to hang out with them as their story unravels, but getting to the ending feels like having to say goodbye and get kicked out for their lives which I just grew used to
