Now that I gotten a closer look at his sister...I'm seriously jealous of their genes, nature spirits are famed for our beauty, but even only having a drop of nature spirits...for a human, she is really comparable to many models of my own race, hell if she decided to go live and identify herself as a spirit, I might even back her up on it.
"I can tell, you got something for my brother." she said
"I just found him interesting, that's all."
"Really? He tends to overshare things, he can cook, good looking, talented and more than financially stable, any smart woman would love to see that trait in a man, and it's not like marriages between each race is forbidden either."
"Just say that I'm interested, I don't really know what I really feel yet."
"He asked you to be his partner, didn't he?" Diana asked with a serious expression.
"He has." I nodded in response "And I accepted the proposal."
"Good, that means you get the honor of being my replacement."
"That's...a bit hard to process."
"Don't worry, you'll learn quick if you also got placed by the tower into the A class, there's like a 100 B class, 500 C class and so forth, the people placed into the A class by the tower are people with potential to become a named." Diana explained "People don't usually get told this because they would get conceded and lose sight of their training and ethics, so keep what I said a secret and even never to make an enemy of your classmates no matter how weaker they are."
That would make a lot of sense since about 95% of the named or ranked in history have gotten admitted into the A class, the other 5% are the abnormals, which means Perseus is one of those abnormals, he gotten to be a ranker in 4 years without the academy, even if he has bloodline advantage, 4 years is a very short time to accomplish such a feat.
"Do you want to join our clan?" Diana asked
"Is this even legal?"
"It is, I even left for the clan after my second year." Diana nodded "Perseus plans on both climbing the tower and attending the full 3 years since he want to make some peers his age, being his partner means carry that burden, I fully believe that he will be the first person in history to reach the top of this tower."
That's not far off, he's 18, he's not even at his physical prime, and he chose to stay at the 17th floor instead of climbing higher, the potential he has right now is limitless, clans would scramble everything they have just to get him.
I'm even willing to bet that some clans are even willing to take a major pay cut just to get him. Because he will make a lot of money back in due time for the clan, he will easily become the new face of the raiders association.
"So I'll ask you this personally? Are you really willing to become his partner?" Diana asked "Your father would never allow it, the reason of him making sure you steer clear away from him is that very reason, being his partner would mean my replacement."
"Why did you stop being his partner?" I asked curiously.
"I didn't necessarily stop, I still help him out sometimes, but I'm now focus on the clan, we're trying to build the best people possible with Perseus at the center, our goal is clear the tower within this generation." she answered
"What's your clan's name?"
"The Raining Gold." Diana replied "Perseus have just recently became an official member."
Ranked 24th, the richest clan, not necessarily the strongest as they only have 2 named, 3 counting Perseus now, they're not necessarily the best at raiding nor trading, but somehow they are the luckiest in terms of finding the rarest treasures, they are easily one of the highest paying guild, probably top 5 in that aspect.
"You can reject the offer if you want to, he has eyes on many people." Diana said "He needs a partner he can trust in a duo as many dungeons require a minimum of 2 people to enter even if he has the strength of a small clan by himself."
"Were you his support?"
"No, we switched a lot, sometimes he is and sometimes I am, so you can learn a lot as he will cover your blind spots and also learn how a top raider work in action."
That does sound like a good offer, the only thing holding me back for the moment...my father definitely won't allow this, BUT I have gained my independence so I do what I want.
"Sure I'll join the clan, where do I sign up?"
Perseus POV
I'm currently in the cafeteria eating a burger in a private room I rented using the system's credit. I then got the expected call from Brooke Laguna.
"Hey man, what's up?"
"Rank 11, you sure are talented." he replied "I knew you were talented, but that was beyond surprising."
"Right, every raider got the update on the list, even ones outside the tower or even a chosen raider who never stepped in the tower."
"But I did step through the tower, that's the only way to travel from one world to another."
"I never said it was you. What do you need, sir?"
"You know what I'm about to ask about."
"The Mirage Legion? Well they're going to be very quiet for a while sir, for now, they control many nations and organizations outside the tower itself from the shadows."
"They're going to be a huge threat soon enough...you asked my daughter to be your partner, didn't you?"
"Yeah, I'll teach her the ways of the tower, if she still sticks with me after the academy, it's up to her."
"Well I knew you would do that, the only reason why I made her steer clear away from you was the fact that you managed to infiltrate that clan, make sure to keep her away from it at all cost."
"Yes sir, you don't have to worry about that. They are much more dangerous than people imagine, they have their own possible 100."
"And that's why you're there to spy on them and make sure we keep them in check." he replied
It wasn't easy, it's only cause I caught their attention earlier on and they recruited me.
"Sir, you don't mind me asking your daughter out, do you?"
"You-"
"I'm joking, sir."
"You never joke about such a topic."
"Well she does fit my type and in the tower, you don't really have any power either."
"I swear to-"
I then cut the call with a satisfied smile on my face.
